Again I disagree he clearly attempted to move but couldn't.
Like I said whether that was Maidana's doing or Broner's doing I don't know.
It clearly was Broner's doing..I'm yet to see the fight where Broner is using movement..He has been use to being the bigger man for so long,he's never improved his footwork..Broner moving in that fight consisted of Broner moving back in a straight line..A sitting duck for looping punches..
Broner came out and stood right in front of Maidana from the opening bell bro..When hurt,he still was right in front of Maidana..Now he might have been stepping back, yet straight back..He looked like he never was taught how to move in a boxing ring..Again,moving is not part of Broner mental make up..Or skill set at present moment..Not like a guy like Alexander or Mayweather(who has some of the best footwork in the business)..The improvements people see in Maidana has more to do with match making then anything else tbh..Broner fough Maidana like a fool, and got treated like one in the process..
I did not see Broner trying to move at all really..Broner tried his weak shoulder roll, and to pop Maidana with the jab..Believe me,had Broner gave Maidana movement and angles..Broner would have beat Maidana..Instead Broner stood directly in front of Maidana..Pretty much letting Maidana tee off on him,it proved that Broner was tough as hell in my book..It also help Maidana not have to do any work to get to Broner..Broner was fighting like he was in cement boots..
I agree that some aspects of Maidana game has got a lot better..He has a better conditioning, and his work rate is better as well..Yet let's be honest,he's not fought any boxers that move in forever..This is not by mistake bro,if I can see his(big)flaw..His trainers and handlers can see it as well..They would have known to keep him away from boxers with good movement..Until I see those improvements,I'll hold out me saying that anything really change with Maidana..He has not put it too the test against the style that seems to give him tons of trouble..

I don't see why it's out of the realms of possibility that Maidana forced Broner to fight.
To me, it seems obvious once Broner realised he was out of his depth infront of Maidana he absolutely attempted to box and move.

Oh he definitely tried to move at times. That's clear. Became apparent quickly that he couldn't. Was it because of Maidana or was it because of Broner? I'm unsure but there's no doubt Broner attempted to get on his bike.
I agree though we've yet to see him fight a real mover or proven mover.
But like I said, to me, it's quite obvious and clear that he's improved many aspects of his game.

I can tell just by looking at training footage, analyzing the arc and velocity of his punches... but hey..
I think Broner tried to grow wings in parts of their fight but Chino cut him off. The kid is athletic and did try to move, it just didnt work against Maidana 2.0.
I also think people find it easier to **** on Maidana's opponents than to give him the props he has EARNED

Broner never tried to move at all..It's not what Broner does,Broner has always been use to being so much bigger or so much harder puncher he never needed to move..Broner was a sitting duck, and in the future if he does not work on footwork will be a sitting duck again when he steps up his level of comp..
I'll give you that Maidana conditioning looks better, and his punches are a lil shorter..Yet until we see him in the ring with someone who can provide good movement we don't know how he will do with that style..Not to mention, what a way to find out(against May)..I pretty much see the same fighter with the same flaws..Slightly less sloppy I guess..

I see people worshipping this post and no idea why. Same against Broner as against Morales? Even worse? Wtf. Where in the Morales fight did Maidana show anything but reckless abandon? Against Broner he was timing his left hook nicely throughout the fight, against Morales, and I enjoyed that fight, there was literally no rhyme or reason. Nowadays Maidana is orchestrated destruction with more pop and better conditioning. He may have thrown alot against Morales, but he wasnt throwing with as much gusto as he has in his most recent fights. There wasnt as much behind the punches.
And since we are mentioning Devon.. you want to look at the Morales fight? Fine. Compared to now, Maidana may have had less power, more sloppiness, and been less authoritative with the jab when he fought Morales, but at least he was vital and energetic. He simply had no energy against Devon to work out of the clinch.
this can be attributed to reports that he was sick, reports that he was contemplating retirement beforehand, the fact his trainer was very ill and not there for his camp or the fight... and barring all THAT there is the visual evidence of his flab in that fight. You cannot attribute that performance to only Devon unless you simply are looking for a reason to detract from Maidana. Very sluggish performance by Chino, A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT FIGHTERS WOULD HAVE BEATEN HIM IN THAT CONDITION, including the version of Morales that he fought.
Good post, thank you. I still havent read his reply to me, because I was sure it would have a lot of the stuff you mentioned. My initial post on his improvements are facts. I gave examples.
ur one of the floyd fans who over hype his opponents so floyd would get credit after
:You_Rock_
you deserve to be payed by floyd for false advertising
Mayweather fan???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/ LOL :burnup::kabong::spankme:
Shy?
My prediction is Maidana is going to lose. It's to the best fighter in 20 years so it doesn't discredit who Maidana is now.
You better believe he has success against Mayweather, and hopefully he can gain the respect of all these faggots who like to call champions bums.

Trolling? So he's been facing movers has he?

I think anyone ignoring Maidana's subtle improvements is just being a hater. He is still the same fighter, but he uses his jab a lot better now to set up his shots and his discipline has improved/conditioning has improved a ton under Garcia.
Thats exactly it.. alot of what we are talking about are subtleties and nuance. Analyzing how technique evolves within a certain style. Not everyone can do this.
but I should at least think they would recognize the power difference. Good Lord. Chino is clearly a more impressive physical specimen as of late... I think people that dont see that, at least, are trolling. Or just incredibly new or ungifted at this whole pugilism thing. Either way.
He had these tools before, didn't he momentarily stun a 90yr old Morales with the same feint, left hook?
I have to give that response because its the answer. Broner sucks and was static for most part, he had no jab to keep Maidana from charging in & barely threw anything - It wasn't because he was weary of Maidana's power or whatever, he has never thrown much volume.
Karass, Broner, Lopez, Martinez all stood in front of him and traded.
Did Ariza help? Maidana came out fast and threw a lot but he had visibly slowed by 5, was breathing real hard and gave up most of the middle rounds against a guy who wasn't hitting back. He wasn't being made to miss either. Its a different ballgame when you're being forced to move, made to miss & getting hit back.
He was jabbing in the Khan fight, body and head. He just couldn't land anything meaningful because he is that slow and telegraphs everything, it wasn't until the 10th a visibly exhausted and beaten up Maidana landed something meaningful. He could hardly put a glove on Alexander either, people can say he clinched etc (thought Maidana had solved this? not sure what its based on either seeing none of the guys he has fought since know how to clinch) the reality is Alexander boxed his ears off and Maidana didn't land well anything.
Same guy only hes faster here than now.
Actually looks much sharper in the Morales fight if anything.
There is no improvement in my eyes. I still see the same guy.
Same punch selection, same feints, same telegraphed punches being thrown from out of position.

I'll root for Maidana, sure. But he won't be able to land much on Floyd. He hasn't changed that much, even if he has sharpened and tightened some things up. Honestly, Floyd could stop him. He may not be a big puncher, and Marcos may be a real tough hombre, but stylistically it could be a massacre.
I like Maidana, but Broner sucks. He was a stationary target and Floyd won't be.
