Margarito has a hell of a chin or a Mike Tyson one hard hit boom chin?
Margarito has a excellent chin but he can be rocked by good shots early in a fight once he gets warmed up and going after 3-5 rounds his chin is rock solid though.
I had it 7-5 Williams but i could understand 8-4 but i thought Williams won it.Williams fought smart and stayed on the outside and tied up Tony on the inside.I picked Tony to win but i based that on the fact that i figured he would give up his reach and fight on the inside like he always does.By the time Tony put in enough body work to slow him down a bit where he could get inside of that freakish reach Williams had won to many rounds.
Mosley will be out of gas by the 6th or 8th. Then Cotto would take the TKO a few rounds later. Then Cotto would have awsome power and AWSOME pressure coming forward. Again. Repeat with Hoya, then a couple of years with Mayweather, than maybe Hatton and cotto would be the best pressure fighter. Then finally he would fight a new Williams and lose.
Mosley still has good endurance for his age and he can fight tired unlike Oscar.Cotto wont be able to put enough pressure on shane to tire him out in 6 or 8 also because Shane is going to be the hardest puncher he's ever fought and he cant get reckless with him.
No one is unbeatable in this welter weight division. The division is so full of talent and dangerous fighters with many different styles.Even if one fighter was clearly far more talented than every other welter theres still bound to be a style there to beat that fighter.
This is your wake-up call. Hatton will be in the top ten pfp. and he don't have to run his ass all over the ring to win a fight.:boxing:
Nope he only has to clinch 20-30 times a round.
The first low blow was total acting on Zabs part but the second shot was right on the money.Even if you take out those low blows the fight would have gone the same way.Zab hit Cotto with his best shots early and cotto was still there. It was a good win for Cotto but people give Zab to much credit because of his natural ability and fail to see hes not even a elite fighter.Zab is now 1-5 against top level oposition. He's more of a gate keeper level of fighter to be honest.Good win for Cotto and i think he has earned his status as a elite fighter finally.
I always thought Cotto had alot of talent but i figured his chin was going to fail him. After seeing him take some shots at welter i have been impressed with his chin holding up.I think weight drain from trying to make jr welter was the reason he looked like he had a questionable chin.If you take away the questionable chin i really have nothing bad to say about the guy now and i see no reason why he couldnt compete against the best at welter.I was really shocked to see him take that punch from zab as well as he did in the first round.
I could see Hatton getting a w in this fight. Its hard to run and play D when a guy is holding you and punching. Its easy to see hatton holding hitting and roughing floyd up all night but i can also see Floyd using that forearm to create space and landing that uppercut at will.
Boxing isnt dead just the heavyweight division. Its only dead to the average joe who only thinks of boxing by what they see from the heavys. We are in the greatest era of little men that boxing has ever seen but America doesnt care much.
Mayweather-I think mosley can beat him but its a very close fight.Mosley has the speed power and boxing ability to do it.With Mosleys chin and Mayweathers lack of power i could see mosley just attacking him and having his way because theres no threat from getting hurt while being over aggressive.
Margarito-I was one of the guys who wanted to see him in with mayweather because of the last thing i mentioned about Mayweathers lack of power at welter and Margaritos aggressive style and endurance.I cant see him being able to just jump on Mosley though because he would have to respect the return fire from Shane unlike Floyd. He would try to jump on shane at some point because he cant box with him and he would get hurt and back off and get out boxed the rest of the fight.
Cotto-Theres very little chance he could ko Mosley early and his chin wouldnt hold long enough for him to break shane down to the body.
Judah-Zab gets put on his ass early fight over.It would be competitive for a little till Shane connected clean with a good shot.
Williams-The only fighter i didnt pick Shane to beat.Shane has alot of trouble with taller fighters and i really dont like the style match up.If i had to pick now id go with Williams but im not to sure until i see Pauls chin get tested which it will against Toney.Shanes by far the better fighter but i kind of think this could turn into a nightmare because of Pauls height advantage and reach. This whole fight to me depends on Pauls chin because he fights to much on the inside for a tall guy and his defense is far from good.If Paul gets rocked at any point Mosley would stop boxing and just go after him and Pauls willingness to trade inside would be his downfall.
Hatton-hes just to small and would ware himself out trying to wrestle and out muscle the bigger stronger fighter like in the Collazo fight. He would get out boxed from the outside and ko'd late.I think it would look alot like the Collazo fight just much much worse for Ricky and end in a late ko.
Castillo-Think he might be a bit past his best and even at his best he wouldnt be a match for Shane.
Forrest-Hes not 1/3 the fighter he used to be.Mosley would win a easy 12rd ud in a kinda dull fight.
Quartey-It could be a competitive fight at times till the later rounds when Ikes endurance problems showed up and Shane would just pull away on the cards.
Cintron-Hes big and has good power but hes to slow to connect on Shane and hes got a weak chin.I think he gets out boxed and ko'd at some point.
Id pick DLH but with his horrible endurance and the pace Tony sets i wouldnt be shocked to see Tony walk him down if he could take DLH's best shot.I give Tony a shot for the same reason i picked Mayweather over DLH because DLH starts to tire only after 6 rounds even in a slow paced fight.Margarito has slow hands and is a slow starter and it would look like a total mismatch for the first 4 rounds.Dlh would beat Tony silly 1-4 and Tony would punish DLH 9-12.
Taylor has all the natural ability in the world i just don't think he has the smarts to figure out how to use his ability or understand simple directions.
You also have to take muscle memory into account here.Tommy used to be a very muscled up guy back in the day. When your over muscled and you quit working out you will lose alot of that muscle over time but when you start working out again it comes back very fast.Ive seen pictures of older guys who were big body builders in there younger days who hadnt lifted in 20 years or so start lifting again and put most of that muscle back on in 8 months to a year.Ive heard a couple of peoples opinions on why and some say its easy to put that size back on because the muscle had allready been stretched that far.
I know he used to juice back in the day and i wouldnt be shocked if he was on the juice again. All im saying is that what he has done in a short amount of time is achievable with out roids.
I like to hear what great fighters have to say about a fight. Lewis knows a lot more about boxing than Merchant.
A great fighter he was but hes horrible as a commentator. Its down right painful to watch him at times. He mumbles and steps over his words more than a 13 year old school boy trying to talk to some hot porno chicks.
The great fighters these days make millions fighting b and c level fighters every 6 months. In those days you had to fight alot to get rich.Great fighters today are to lazy with there bloated hbo contracts.
Why would mosley fear Cotto when he has fought much better fighters than Cotto.Cotto is fun to watch but to say Mosley fears him is silly.Yall hype Cotto up alot for a guy who hasnt fought any top guys and has been hurt by a good number of mid level guys.Cotto has struggled to survive against guys who Mosley wouldnt lose one round to.
