Hatton is nowhere near being a pound for a pounder. Shane outlanded Collazo 200-87 and Collazo gave Hatton a tough-ass fight. Also, when you see how bad Hatton looked against Urango, holding all the time, I just don't get why anyone would put him near a P4P list. Beating Castillo won't mean shit either, since he is a shade of his former self.
On a side note, Shane was pretty impressive to me. He was very fast and pretty accurate too.
That's a pretty sophisticated dossier you have there.. Tita Yucko.. :lol1:
You hate Ricky Hatton and love Miguel Cotto.
No wonder you're so angry with me, girl.. :purity: :blowjob:
I guess I can cancel that therapist..
Just wanted to add that the actual fighting weight of Mosley and Hatton are similar. Even at 147lbs Mosley isn't a big man and only weighted 154lbs at fight time. Hatton at jrWW weights in at 155ish on fight night for his jrWW matches.
Mosley is not a natural jrMW the extra weight comes from weight lifting which in hindsite seems to have hampered some of his skills at jrMW. Hatton is big jrWW.
Collazo was hesitant in this fight. I am sure he had more confidence against a 5'6" small guy, than a practicing legend (and I do mean practicing). He really did not play the southpaw card enough--when he did there were glimpses of success. Still, Mosley won. Very over-hyped fight. If Mosley takes his supposedly rejuvinated body to DLH or PBF he will be filleted and splayed...on the mat. But, why would he want to fight DLH? Why not Forrest? Mayorga? Margarito? Gatti? Perhaps he knows what everyone knows...that he lost the last DLH fight.
Mosley started at lightweight, though. This was a lightweight destroying a welterweight...
As an amature he last fought at 139 a jr. welterweight. But yeah, shane looked impressive no more one punch at a time, shit he used to do at lightweight and at 154.
yea i agree completely.
If hatton loses in a war the love will flow in from all corners of the planet.
Castillo lost to corrales, but he gained legions of fans in mexico.
Gatti lost to Ward, but im sure Gatti gained PLENTY more diehard fans then Ward.
so i definetly agree.
And it WILL be a war.
One guy fighting while the other man is huggin could hardly be considered a WAR, but of course, that's IMO.
You'd have a hard time arguing with that. Unless: It's a close fight with a dramatic finish and a rematch comes out of it. If the fight is a great one Hatton's stock goes up... you don't have to be unbeatable to capture the hearts of the fans. In fact there aren't many fighters who retire unbeaten and are regarded as legendary.

If Castillo beats Hatton in June, Hattons career here is in jepordy

Exactly, we shouldn't even mention Haton's name no more. He is nonrelevent and the fact that Mosley disposed of Collazo so easily futher diminishes the luster of Ricky Hatton. The guy fights a bunch of nobodies and hasbeens, then beats up old man Zoo at like 3 in the morning, fights Maussa for title defense, struggles with Collazo and then moves back down to 140 to hug Urango. Do we really need to talk about him any longer.
You're a retard.
the hatton/collazo fight is the perfect fight for hatton-haters to use. ricky looked like shit and won a close decision. they totally forget the fact that ricky isnt a natural welterweight and collazo is.
dur.

One point I'd like to mention is Hatton is busting out of the seams at 140. He's very big like Cotto was. After the 140 weighin, Hatton gets up to about 152-154 lbs. That's not exactly small & that's why he's effective at 140 because he comes in as a Jr. Middle bullying the smaller fighters. Also I've read reports that making 140 isn't easy at all for Hatton & that he struggles at times. Just like what was said that Sweet Pea is 5'6 & was a lightweight that fought at a high level at much higher weight classes.
Pernell Whitaker was 5'6 and became king at welterweight and also fought at 154, i dont wanna hear that. If you cant move up ONE division, name one hall of fame fighter who couldnt dominate at least 2 divisions.
Monzon, Hagler, Norris, Foster, Pedroza, Gomez (his titles above 122 are hardly "domination"), Napoles, Cokes.
He was out of shape and looked like shit because he is a true lightweight who doesn't belong at 140 but his body has betrayed him. He has looked like shit everytime he fought above lightweight, which includes the fights before Ngoudjo...
he looked like shit... because he was out of shape.
Its a simple concept actually.
If he comes in at 140 because of added muscle mass rather then added fat, then you will see a competitive CASTILLO, and one that reminds you of the PRE-CORRALES days.
And the NGOUDJO fight was the first fight where i was completely unimpressed with CASTILLO. His previous fights at 140 werent shit... hes a good fighter where ever he fights.
Maybe its the SIZE of his opponents that matters and Hatton is significantly smaller
Tonight had nothing to do with Hatton having problems with a very good southpaw and everything to do with how great a fighter Sugar still is.
all tonight showed is that collazo needs to get a lot better, and shane's skills are still sharp at his natural weight. what happened in the ring tonight has fuck all to do with hatton, although i think hatton has been punishing his body - ballooning up to 185 and then dropping back down to 140, eventually he's gonna pay
the saaaaaaaaad truth is, if HATTON beats CASTILLO is a war, THERE will STILL be excuses going around.
And if u think CASTILLO was in shape for his last fight, u r insane. He was flabby, u couldnt see any signs of a sixpack, and there almost no muscle definition at all.
Against Hatton, He will come in muscular.
