I have to say Trinidad with Hearns being a close second. Trinidad's power at welterweight was downright terrifying.
Trinidad was very powerful at welterweight but Hearns was something else, he put guys to sleep.
Could have been one of the greatest of the greats, such a tragedy that his life and career were cut short. He could do pretty much everything in the ring.
His performance against Wilfredo Gomez is his best IMO.
Yeah the Gomez performance was something special. Gomez was 32-0 with 31 KO's and certainly no mug when Sanchez pretty much just picked him apart. Chava would have gone on to be one of the best ever p4p IMO.
This is the biggest travesty in the sport of boxing...ever. He wasn't a drug addict, he wasn't a womanizer or drinker. He lived for the sport and trained his ass off to achieve what he did in his short career.
His premature death took something away from all of us. The pleasure of seeing a true icon and legend of the sport achieve things we can only imagine.
Think about the fights he would have had at that weight class....wow.
I couldn't agree with you more. So many potential great fights that could have happened. I believe there was talk of a fight with Alexis Arguello, what a fight that would have been.
If a fighter ever left too much on the table, Sanchez did.

Not long enough if you ask me.
