Ok guy,s who do you think wins this bout...kelly marching forward and gerald also coming forward...when two objects collide...me personally think they both are damaded beyond repair... no winners here... any thoughts???
whats interesting is that Jermain Taylor and Gerald McClellan were actually very similiar fighters...in build, punching style, and even mentally in the ring they were sowhat alike.
the difference? McClellan was a monsterous puncher and had a hell of a chin. Taylor aint bad in those two catagories, but he sure as hell didnt have the power that McClellan did.
I have to say early KO for McClellan. not that it wouldnt be competitive, but thats just how McClellan's fights went. I said before hes similiar to Taylor, and if Taylor could put Pavlik down and almost out like that...
and dont even try to bring up the Benn fight. Benn would have been gone in the first round if it wasnt for the ref, and McClellan almost finished him again late in the fight. add in the fact that McClellan already had bleeding in his brain before that fight, that it was McClellan's first fight at 168lbs, and that Benn was one of the heaviest punchers around that weight of all time and had one of the biggest hearts ever...
How can we forget a great warrior Like Johnny Owen???
Who lost his life in the ring fighting for a world crown !

THANKS A LOT TO THE THREAD STARTER....
i love boxing but things like this shouldnt be happenin....is just sad.. when i saw this vid... it reminds me a lot wilfredo benitez... i just hope that boxers take a look at these examples.... this is a sport... to make a living .. and even have fun while doing it... so the BLOOD & GUTS WARRIOR SHITS... stink.. and its bad for the sport.... i rather preffer see a man take a knee.. and call it a fight.. instead of enjoying my self looking at someone getting beat with out responding.... may GOD open the eyes.. of all the boxers and their corner.. to prevent things like this ....
I saw Mcllellan fight Nigel Benn ,its one of the only 3 big fights i have ever bought a ring side ticket for !
I bet my old Man £50 he would stop Benn !
a few facts Jermain Taylor hurt Kelly Pavlik badly but Taylor could not KO Kasim Ouma or Spinks
Pavlik was tagged by a bum Gary Lockett
G-Man is the second biggest puncher in MW history
Julian Jackson is the biggest puncher in MW history and he could not hurt G-Man
you do the maths :lol1:
Pavlik was tagged by Gary Lockett? Really?
I know boxing probably started in 1990 in your mind, but there have been other middleweights who hit as hard as those two. You might want to read about Ruben Carter and Stanley Ketchel before making those choices.

Btw, I was the first person to make this thread last year, I thought it would be an awesome fight but thinking about it the G Man should win within the first 5 rounds.
Pavlik get's hit too much against someone like McClellan he would pay dearly, it would be Tayor-Pavlik round 2 of there first fight but Pavlik would stay on that canvas.
I believe most past middleweight punchers would KO Pavlik (and Pavlik has a chance of KO'ing some of them as well).
I'm a fan of Pavlik, but I've seen him get hit with punches that he shouldn't be hit by in almost all of his fights. I really have no idea how he would do with a Julian Jackson or a Gerald McClellan, or even Arthur Abraham right now.
He still needs to prove more, I'm not one to jump in any 'bandwagons'.
McClellan had a chin too, he could take a punch. Gerald did lack stamina for all of his career so Pavlik's chances would definitely be in the later rounds if he can get there.
