I don't know why people are making a big deal of Marg's eye when his eyes were almost shut down in the first fight and still won the fight in the end. This is about who has the biggest WILL.
Um Because being blind sucks
Seoul '88 bad...
I have no means of knowing if manipulation is going on or not, but the scoring in this olympics has been breathtakingly bad. Seoul '88 bad, but across many more bouts. It's disgusting and bodes very poorly for the sport.
What do JCC and Oscar have in common?
Quality. But Chavez had more of it.
I agree about Pea requiring a "masterpiece" to beat him and it wasn't exactly a blowout. Also don't forget how late into JCC's career that happened.
leonard can claim to be the greatest of all time period.
Heck, I can claim to be the greatest of all time. Don't mean it's so... ;^>

Glendower, trying to impress the Prince, says, “I can call spirits from the vasty deep.” And Hotspur replies, “Why, so can I, or so can any man; But will they come when you do call for them?”
the last fight i went to was gatti vs baldomir ...
Nice. Can't remember who fought (no-one special), but I do remember that the last fight I went to was in '87 or maybe '88 at the blue horizon in philly... ;^>
a fogie who thinks that anyone who claimed "expert" or "diehard" should also indicate the date of the last fight in which they participated or attended
:boxing:
I'm not sure, but I think it was Stanley Ketchel. I'm also unsure but I think the oldest was Roberto Duran. You might want post topics like this in the history section as there's a bunch of guys who know tons of history who mysteriously don't like wading through the endless mayweather/hatton threads in nsb ;^>
Manny's a turkey. Taylor should see if he can get Pavlik's cement-sealer / boxing trainer to take him on. That guy at least gave reasonable advice. During the fight I heard:
Cement-sealer / trainer: "Double-up on the jab *everytime*. Bang, bang - pop!... bang, bang, pop! And try to get him a bit in the body.... good work, keep working"
Manny: "Work your jab or something, y'know?..."
Or something? For fugsakes you want your boxer to have to interpret your advice mid-round? Completely useless.
Taylor was not exposed - he fought a great fight, but just failed to close the deal when it was his for the closing. Great fight. Time for Taylor to get a new trainer - Manny's just not the right guy for him.
