In the title. I think this pretty much relegates this to a mediocre win that doesn't add much to Floyd's legacy. Has anybody ever had a great win after getting knocked out in the fashion Pac was? This fight really doesn't add much to Floyd's legacy imo as Pac is just a name at this point. Pacquiao was totally gun-shy and is quite obviously shot. I always said Mayweather unanimous decision but I didn't expect Pac to be that shot. I actually thought Mayweather looked relatively unimpressive given the circumstances. Not one truly memorable shot landed in the whole fight against a Pac who just had his earmuffs up, threw barely anything and rushed in every so often.

This guys greatness is based off of one fighter - Pac. 3 close fights with Pac and a KO win make him great but if you look deeper into his resume it just seems that without Pac he'd have been nothing special - certainly not the level he's made out to be. He embarassed himself against Mayweather. Who has he beaten besides Pac? He's beat 2 HOF's in his career, one of whom was shot to ****. Mayweather and Pac both have 7,8 possibly even 9 HOF's on their resume for Pac FFS. It's not just his resume it's his skills. He's one of the best combination punchers I've seen and an excellent thinker and counter puncher, but defensively he is mediocre, which is why he's took losses. He backs straight up and stands there on the ropes with little head movement, no clinching or no covering up. He gets away with it against most due to good counterpunching but he gets caught a lot because of it.

Before being flamed for triangle theories, ignoring the fact that styles make fights and all that, I think this is an interesting question. Does the fact that Bradley outboxed Marquez - himself a decent boxer - when Pac handled Bradley relatively easily make him look better or does it make him look worse that the boxer to knock him out got outboxed by Bradley?

Now we know the secret of Canelo's rubbish stamina. I run at a faster pace than this for 4 miles no joke. This is not impressive at all. After a 2.5 month break from boxing season I was totally unfit and could run 3:00 literally straight away in the 800m and am now running 2:30 intervals. I weigh about 154 and Canelo is low 70s so he shouldn't be much slower - in fact he should be faster since he is a professional athlete after all. Anthony Joshua has not even had a pro fight yet and on a program in the UK that pits olympic athletes from different sports against each other (not even a serious thing just for fun) Joshua ran 2:26 and he's 17-18 stone and of similar age to Canelo. In all seriousness a professional boxer at that weight should be running 2:20s at worst (in a maximal effort test not intervals).

Nobody can bring size into this because Broner is bigger than Manny and Floyd and Malignaggi. I think Floyd beats 2009 Manny by a close decision but I think Pac at that time would have absolutely Murdered Broner. He had the perfect style to do it against this stationary moron. That really tells you the gulf between Broner and Floyd. Countless fighters have looked better against Malignaggi than Broner. Hatton looked a lot better, Khan looked a lot better and Cotto looked a lot better, even though Khan is an absolute bum according to most of you people. I'm telling you there are so many guys would murder this idiot.

It doesn't matter though because it's so quick that nobody can do anything about it and Mayweather's head movement and ring craft is so good that nobody can counter it. He just smothers fighters after throwing it or moves his head straight out the way. The best thing you can do about Mayweather's right hand is make it miss - you aren't going to make him pay for missing it though. The thing is guys are way too intent on countering it when they might as well just get out of the way of it every time because it's so predictable. Every time Mayweather drops his left hand and goes slightly low or starts pawing the jab you know he will throw a lead right.

people laughed at 50 Cent because of the so-called weight difference. The fact of the matter is, however, that there is no significant weight difference. Gamboa is 148 and Mayweather is about 150. Now, Gamboa wouldn't be competitive with Mayweather anyway but just thought I'd throw this out there - the fight would be possible and weight wouldn't be an issue. That said, Gamboa rehydrating 18lbs is simply ridiculous. For a man of his size I'm not sure how safe that is to be honest.

Mayweather is a dirty fighter with them cheap shots. I don't know why people say that he is a "good guy" in real life. Mayweather is clearly just another rich, dumb thug. People always say mayweather is so clever and that his persona is just an act to promote himself. I think, after last nights event, it is clear that Mayweather is just a thick twat like the rest of the Mayweathers. What sort of intelligent person conducts himself in an interview like that? One who cannot articulate himself the way a normal person can: dumbass stuttering Floyd.

Where do people rank Khan p4p? personally I think he's just outside the top 10.

... how great would that be? The veteran just doesn't go away! Disregarding the loss he took in his first fight, he has only lost convincingly once, and that was to Roy Jones jr, and it was still a close fight. There is absolutely no shame in losing (and making it competitive) to Roy Jones jr who was nearing his prime at the time. Since then, his losses have been controversial and close, he has never been dominated. Mayweather and Pacquiao, as good as they are, are always favored over their opponents. Bernard Hopkins has won as the underdog many times, whether you like him or not. Some people hate him, some love him, but he is a legend and probably my favorite fighter. If he beats Dawson he deserves even more respect!

People say Haye's defence sucks but I think last night proved that was bull**** - he may not have great footwork but he does have great head movement. Also, people say his chin sucks - not at all. He took some huge Wlad shots and wasn't bothered at all. The problem with Haye is he just doesn't punch enough. No heavyweights seem to recognise Wlads vulnerabilities even though they are so obvious. When Wlad gets rushed he just steps back (and makes no effort to move laterally) with his chin in the air and stops with his left hand down. He is so open when he does this! The problem is all the heavyweights rush forward with two or three punches then they stop. If they kept coming forward they would land on Wlad. Also, fighters don't need to worry about rushing Wlad because he cannot counter-punch whatsoever. He never lands when getting rushed he just moves back. If Haye punched more he would have looked a lot better (not saying he would have won) and this is why Haye (who is more talented than given credit for) is so frustrating to watch.

It is probably the best fight Floyd can make at welterweight besides Pacquiao but it is a terrible fight in the respect that it will not be competitive at all. One of the main tools required to beat Mayweather is a good stiff jab and Ortiz has no jab whatsoever. One mediocre win against Berto (who, lets face it, was overrated and green) has tricked people into thinking this is a great comeback fight for Mayweather. Berto will be aggressive and is very open to right hand counters which Floyd is brilliant at. People need to remember that Ortiz was getting outboxed by LAMONT PETERSON at times. Mayweather will put on a clinic and I won't be impressed at all. The same way that I won't be impressed if Pac KO's an ageing JMM.

I am from England and it is stupid that this guy doesn't get no coverage. David Haye doesn't fight the best, yet he is treated like a god. I like Amir Khan and he has great potential, but he is still young and has a lot to prove. Khan is heading HBO cards for god sake. Then we have Froch, he doesn't get that much media attention, yet he brings an excitement to every fight, fights the best and fights exciting. People always underrate Froch's skills too. Just because he is awkward doesn't mean he can't box. We saw this last night, he fought a picture perfect fight against Abraham. Why do people still discredit him?

How can anyone dislike this guy. Yes he is a bit of a trash talker, but he always gives fight his all and brings an exciting element to his fight. He is wild and unorthodox so people say he has no talent or defence, but he has shown tonight that he has world class boxing skills.
