... how great would that be? The veteran just doesn't go away! Disregarding the loss he took in his first fight, he has only lost convincingly once, and that was to Roy Jones jr, and it was still a close fight. There is absolutely no shame in losing (and making it competitive) to Roy Jones jr who was nearing his prime at the time. Since then, his losses have been controversial and close, he has never been dominated. Mayweather and Pacquiao, as good as they are, are always favored over their opponents. Bernard Hopkins has won as the underdog many times, whether you like him or not. Some people hate him, some love him, but he is a legend and probably my favorite fighter. If he beats Dawson he deserves even more respect!

if hops fought an undefeated dawson, that would've been more impressive
IF he wins he deserves all the credit in the world. If Manny and Floyd can be credited for beating old fighters, then Bernard should be credited for beat a young un
I'm happy with who ever wins this fight. Big supporter of Chad Dawson and Hopkins is probably the only athlete that I'd care to meet along with Michael Jordan. So, in truth, it's a win-win for myself.
Still, this would be one of the best fights for the old man to take. Lose and it's a loss to a big, relatively strong, fast Light Heavyweight. Win and he continues to make history.
So, either way, should be a good fight and I hope the under card is as stacked as rumors suggest.
would have been a great win had he fought dawson immediately after dawson-johnson 2, which he said he was going to do....instead we got shotroy 2....giving dawson's recent form only a decent win at best....
Losses supposedly don't mean it's the end, but posts like these indicate that is all talk and people really do care about 0's. I guess losses don't matter when it benefits the fans fighter. Dawson's decision loss made him this bum all of a sudden, but Cotto's 2 brutal TKO losses, it doesn't matter, he's still elite. Lol. Pacquiao got 3 losses, it doesn't matter look what he did afterward. Khan was ktfo in 1 round, it doesn't matter he's still a very good fighter, Bradley is ducking him. Dawson loses a decision, oh that's it any fight that was good between him and another fighter has now lost it's luster because he lost once.
I think the win will be underrated but it would realistically be the second best win of this whole year. Of course Marquez beating Pacquiao, and Ortiz beating Mayweather would trump any win, but let's just speak as if that will not happen, then Ward beating Froch or Froch beating Ward would be the best win this year, followed by Hopkins beating Dawson.
Great would be the word considering Bhop's age and yet he exceeds expectations.
Good would suffice coz Dawson got blasted by Pascal, whom Bhop smoked.
All in all good praises for Hopkins if he beats Dawson.
I'd go with great. Just because of the absolute difference in styles Dawson shares from Pascal. We can't use the triangle theory here.
A lot of people think Dawson wins, which is why it would be amazing.

If B-Hop beats Dawson it will be yet another feather in his cap. However, I think Dawson beats Hopkins.

Wouldn't say great, it'd be a good win.
Great is the wrong word. What I meant was that it would be pretty amazing for a man of Hopkins' age to overcome the odds again and beat yet another top level fighter.
