Bam and it's not even close.
Shakira has a bunch of gimmes on his resume. Zepeda is a decent name i guess and teofimo too but cmon who gave him a chance to win? The guy lost to kambosos, a gift against Martin so the blueprint was already there. Shakira can make a case at 147 but it's dead there.
Bam has a shot with all the tough fighters around his division.. If we’re going to minimize shakur beating teo, Zepeda and Valdez, please explain the better opposition that bam has beaten and what other fighters he can face in his baby weight divisions and what would be better.
I don't see that fight happening, Plus even if it did, it's a joke of a fight. Cotto fights a Canelo leftover. I don't like this fight either but as far as Canelo leftover, Canelo hasn't had a problem taking on guys who have been leftovers of multiple other fighters in khan and Chavez Jr soo, it's trash either way.
lol why doesn't Cotto reschedule with Kirkland if noone is available? He must be healed up, lol probably because Kirkland is a head case and can't be relied on. Him dropping out of the cotto fight isn't the first time he's pulled out of a fight he agreed to which is why there's doubt over the alleged injury. Cotto should fight Bradley and retire.
Easy now. Very good win and a great gut check but beating a 41 yr old coming off a loss and being inactive for almost 2 yrs doesn't make you the king... Yet
Maybe the hardest single fight route but the real way to earn a title is to actually beat some top 5 fighters in your weight class and then face and defeat a champion in that same weight class. In this scenario you were called on not because you earned this shot but rather to be a showcase for a Canelo ko on cinco de mayo Weekend.
I thought Trout, Lara both are pretty good? Both were RANKED in the top #20 P4P. This fight will be the biggest PPV fight since Sept. It's gonna easily do over 650K buys. Cinco De Mayo Weekend ibwouldnt be suprised if it does over 800K.trout and Lara were worth the risk at the time because Canelo was not yet established. Now following the cotto win, plenty of fansfans are drinking the Kool aid. Oscar will only risk him vs somewhat that will enhance his legacy and even then he has to feel like it's a winnable fight. Like vs pac. Khan will get smoked and I don't think the fight will do above 500k because most know this is a mismatch that could potentially end within 3 rounds.
Oscar knows good and damn well that khan has no shot. There is no way Oscar would ever risk Canelo fighting a dangerous opponent at this stage of his career unless the reward was worth the risk. There is no reward for beating an average fighter like khan who has already been beaten by lesser and smaller competition.
I'm Puerto Rican and I'm rooting for Frampton but not because Leo is Mexican. It's because Leo has spent yrs ducking his most meaningful challenge in rigo and has instead fought several low level opponents. I miss the days when Mexicans like Erik morales and Barrera fought all comers, including each other.
Realistically speaking, there are only 2 guys who have an argument that they may have beaten Floyd. One is the 1st Castillo fight and the other is the 1st maidana fight. Otherwise, nobody really came close although cotto gave him a rough fight. Manny was about as competitive with Floyd as Guerrero was.
I don't believe the ticket sales are anything to be overly impressed with. This is by far the lowest ticket prices you'll find in yrs for an hbo or showtime promoted card. I've gone to local shows in NY held in theaters and recreational centers headlined by guys like Gabriel bracero that have had more expensive prices. Lastly, you can't take Oscar's numbers seriously. The guy is a born liar. After Canelo's last ppv he went on record and said it sold just under 600k in ppvs and the reality was that it was about 200k under that. They have ALREADY surpassed the amount of tickets sold that Manny Pacquiao did in his prime at this same building. And they are not done, have yet to get walk up ticket sales which are huge in boxing fights. They will get a boost in sales from walk ups but this fight will already set all time record for AT&T Stadium fights. The question is only how much do they shatter the record.
Oscar just doing his job and raising the bar higher since tickets are flying and exceeding expectations. 40k is all they needed to beat Manny and pass Canelo's own record for tickets sold. 70k is a stretch no way they hitting that. My guess is it easily cracks 50k though and there is no boxer today doing these kinds of numbers especially off these type of ticket prices.
I'm not even a ggg fan but you fools defending Canelo make yourselves look ridiculous. Sorry but you can't convince anyone that Canelo is some global star. He's an overrated average boxer with a gullible Mexican fan section that Oscar takes for suckers because you don't know any better. QUOTE=bigdunny1;17043436]That's a bold face lie these are more expensive tickets then GGG's fight with wade and most of the fights HBO has aired. Including the Chocoalito fight. You GGG fanboys need to come up with another excuse and drop the this is just cheap tickets talk that has been debunked.

Has Khan ever heard of a tune up fight? Fight someone like Mayweather or Brandon Rios dude, then get back in with the home run hitters. Youve earned it. he had tune ups for 4 yrs in between the Garcia fight and Canelo fight. Also, are you referring to mayweather as a tune up??
What unfinished business is he referring to? He was ko'd in the 4th. Business with Garcia has been concluded. Either way, he gets ko'd whether it's Garcia or brook. He should go for the bigger money option which is brook.
Khan has never taken easy fights you stupid ass. Maybe he made them easy. Yes Mayweather would be a tune up for Amir. Floyd is slower and his punches couldnt put a dent in a heavy bag. You stuoid ass. so much stupidity in your comment. Khan had only faced 1 top 10 fighter between the Garcia and Canelo fights you idiot. And that 1 fighter was Devin Alexander who just finished losing to Porter and was hooked on pain killers. The fact that you referred to the best fighter of this generation as a tune up for amir khan is without a doubt the dumbest comment ever made in the history of this site. Just delete your account and life immediately.
These UK guys are quite delusional. Wonder if it's a cultural thing there to overvalue your worth. Khan, Saunders, now eubank/ sr all think way too highly of themselves.
As if fighting khan is some sort of prize that needs to be earned. Brook should move to 154 as he planned and lets see if khan is eager to fight Spence for a vacant title. Either way, khan gets sparked within 6.
What's funny is she had Canelo losing in the Khan fight. Canelo had some good punches that swayed her maybe??? It was a close fight and GGG looked more beatup then Canelo did afterwards. once the bell rang, who did you think won? Forget how their face looked, who seemed more in control most rounds?
Canelo my boy but GGG 7-5 was my score... I put ALL my $$$$ on the over though (One GGGTards said GGG KO in 6??? LOL) . The rematch I have Canelo winning. I think ggg would win a rematch if it's their next fight but if it goes anywhere beyond a yr, time isn't on his side. If they don't fight next, It'll be a race to see which one gets to easily snatch the title from saunders
"Unfortunately, Adalaide was a little wide. I'm not making any excuses. I think she's an outstanding judge, and in any business, sometimes you have a bad day." just a little wide? That was more that just a little. You'd have to go completely out of your way to find 10 rounds to give canelo last night. It's like deniro told that kid in the movie casino. Either you're too stupid to know what's going on or you were in on the scam. Either way you're done.......Byrd shouldn't be allowed to judge ever again.
Pac is an idiot for agreeing to fight in Australia in the first place. Now he's lost his ability to pull a power move. Just retire & focus on trying to pretend you're smart enough to actually be a credible congressman.
Fights rarely live up to expectations but in this case, everybody with sense expected a complete wipe out. So in that regard, it exceeded expectations. In fights like mayweather vs pac, tito vs Oscar, people expected much better than what was produced so those fights were let downs. This one really wasn't because the expectations were low.
You are missing the point. Paulie wasn't there to compete he was supposed to help him with his stamina doing round work. Paulie is done, roughing him up was stupid. nah, Paulie was there for more than just stamina. They wanted someone fast with movement so Conor could get used to making that kind of fighter uncomfortable.
I was skeptical before but I'm now pretty convinced, mcgregor was likely punishing Malignaggi in sparring. His size advantage on Floyd and ability to counter was MUCH better than I expected.
