Floyd.
But I don't think it happens.
I think Martinez-Mayweather happens.
You are a credible poster, Phantom. So I wanted to know what the chances of Mayweather fighting Martínez really are? I have read the quote from Lou DiBella about the possibility of Floyd considering Sergio but I still believe it will be a Golden Boy fighter that he will be facing this May.
Robert Guerrero or Saúl Álvarez are next. I do hope I am wrong, for a fight against Sergio Martínez is one I would much rather see. :fingersx:
Anybody see the punch stats say Mora landed 146 punches at 44%
I'd seen that also. Showtime broadcasters didn't even seem to mention his punchstats because I believe they knew that was incorrect. No way did De La Mora land 146 of his punches at 44%, or I just failed to see it.
What I saw in De La Mora was a broken fighter. He ran, would look at the referee for advise when he couldn't land, threw his fight plan out the window. Overall, De La Mora made this an awkward fight.
Moreno was very impressive, controlling the ring and his opponent from the first ring of the bell. I love how a fighter can break another fighter's will through sheer skill. Bravura.
Agreed. I've always seen Bradley as a boring character on television but he really wore his heart on his sleeves on this one.
I've said many times that Manny has all of the advantages come fight night, but we cannot deny Timmy's determination and work ethic. I am expecting a tough fight for Manny win/lose/or draw.
I'm all for encouraging parents to teach their kids to strive for success but in this show his dad sounded and seemed like an ******* dad to have. Luckily Bradley made it though. It would have sucked if he didn't have a good chin or something and became a journeymen by this time.
His pops is very rough on him, but Bradley has become a better man because of it. Definitely would have broken other kids though.
Jesus was he ever strict, "I'm gonna run you over if you slow down".
"I mean the fuck, dad. I'm only 10." would have been my response.
I want to make a poll but don't know how. There are lots of options, who do you think he should fight and who do you think is most likely? I heard negotiations with Mccloskey aren't going well, personally im glad I dont wanna see him fight that bum.
Humberto Soto?
Paul Mccloskey?
Lucas Matthysse?
Timothy Bradley? (No way it'll happen though)
Erik Morales II?
Andre Berto?
Winner of Alvardo vs Prescott?
Paul McCloskey has earned his shot against the Argentinian and is the fight I would like to see materialize next. I want for Maidana to show improvements through new trainer Rudy Pérez before moving on to the more known fighters.
Do not get me wrong; a fight with Soto, Guerrero, Bradley, Morales, Alexander or Berto are all better choices as Marcos' crude style (along with his tendency to be vulnerable) make for exciting match ups. But a better career choice for him I believe is a fight against McCloskey...but that's just me.
edit: I was under the impression that Paul McCloskey was the mandatory for Maidana's WBA title. If in fact it is Humberto Soto, that on its own is a match I would love to see.
Sergio showed his age and didn't look that good at all in his last fight. Bloodied and busted up by a 23 fights fighter who held his own in there and gave Sergio trouble.
Mayweather is supposed to beat an old version of Sergio who got troubled by an okay fighter. Floyd saw what most saw that night and surprise he's fighting him lol.
I would have to agree with the note on Martínez being less than spectacular in his last outing, but nonetheless, he remains a threat and is recognized by many as the third best pound for pound pugilist in the sport today.
This is a great fight if it were to be made and is the second best fight out there for the American.
Jake Paul has outsold Crawford, Spence, Wilder, or any other top American boxers. When it comes to being taken seriously, this sport has fallen on life support here in America. We could have a renaissance if everyone just decided to fight each other, but oh well. Twitter fights are cool too. RIP, I guess.
&& somehow, Ruiz v Arreola is PPV worthy these days. Says a lot about the state of the sport. Would have been on Boxing After Dark at best just 10 years ago.
A YouTuber and a retired Mixed Martial Artist headlined boxing's highest grossing PPV of the year so far (1+ mil). What a joke this sport is.

Chino via KO!!! I hope he's stronger @ 147.
Don't know about you guys but I'd love to see Pac vs Chino @ 147.
A slow and stationary target for Manny to hit leads to nothing but an easy day for him. This will not at all be competitive.
At this time, these men have to fight amongst themselves, as they all lead to very exciting match ups:
Alexander, Berto, Bradley, Khan, Maidana, Matthysse, Ortiz, Peterson.
Tim Bradley looks like a little kid in a park. :lol1: He looks so excited to be in the position that he is currently in. Good luck to him though! I hope he doesn't waste the opportunity and makes a name for himself (amongst the casual fans).
This year is shaping up to be a great one for boxing and I do hope this fight becomes a reality.
This is a toss up fight in my honest opinion. I feel as if Khan would win if he were to shoe shine his way to a decision but Ortiz's power may prove to be an overwhelming factor in this fight. Víctor has proven to fit the weight at 147lbs/66.7kg perfectly, we'll just see how Amir handles it.
I would love to see the winner of Maidana vs. Alexander against the winner of this fight .
I admire the idea and do hope that this pulls through (if a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout fails to see the light once more).
Guerrero is a tough, tough, fight for both Floyd and Amir (more so the less experienced Khan). He has the physical attributes as well as the ring IQ that will prove his case against the two fighters. A fight between Amir Khan for this upcoming year would be as competitive as they come, and a fight I very much look forward to.
#wishfulthinking
I applaud the young "champion" (or so named) for clearly stepping up in competition. A fight with Rubio will answer a great amount of questions surrounding the younger Chávez.
Winner gets Martínez? By all means. I would not mind seeing it.
