Would he really want to go back down a weight class or two?
Fighting at 147 helps him because he doesn't have to worry about weight at all so he can focus 100% on just training for the fight. I remember there was an interview a while back that he liked being at 147 because he didn't have to try to make weight at all.
Ledwaba is probably one of the best examples. He took the fight on 2 weeks notice as an injury replacement. Almost no one outside of the Philippines had even heard of him before and that immediately got him some attention.
MAB - Still relatively unknown outside the Philippines and he completely demolished Barrera in a hugely pro-Mexican crowd. Got himself noticed and probably a lot of Mexican fans in the process.
FFS, Filipino's were petitioning the boxing commission to ban the De La Joya fight because they thought Pacquiao was going to get hurt in the fight.
Plenty of examples that people just refuse to acknowledge.
He's 35 and has obviously declined. It wasn't surprising to see him more tentative and more cautious after he got brutally knocked out.
But even with all the deficiencies he has now past his prime he showed he can still be competitive. The only fight that he would probably be outclassed would be against Mayweather but even then he would still have a chance to win even though it might be less than 10%
I told you that these crazy asss cultists treat Manny's loss like its his first instead of his 5th and behave as if a natural disaster has hit their island.
Its madness.
99% of them don't know him or have anything to do with him, but they act as if a family member just died.
Its pathetic.
Why do you antagonize them so much?
These are people that live on probably less than a 100 dollars a day. Probably way less than that.
What's wrong with watching someone that they look up to? It gives them hope and a small escape from their current situation even if it only lasts 12 rounds.
Kind of curios to know the reaction after the KO counter punch?
Was there a Riot? Did people go Anarchy Nolan Batman style?
What about sucicides or other crazy obbessive behavior that *******s exibit?
Probably the same thing as the bar we watched it at.
Shock and awe when the KO happened, then everyone just got back on with their lives.
so Juan Manuel Marquez dedicated his whole life and trained like a demon possessed just to beat a B Class fighter?
You know sh1t about boxing :nonono:
A great fighter like JMM wouldn't treat a fighter well below him with as much respect as he treated Pacquiao. And the same can be said about Pacquiao to JMM.
part of the problem is , it seemed like roach planned for pac to box jmm.
to copy (somewhat) what floyd did. let jmm lead sometimes and counter , don't give jmm anything to counter , etc.
that's not pac's fight.
pac has many advantages over jmm. technique and boxing skills is not one of them.
they fought jmm's fight in the beginning. got jmm comfortable.
I thought the same thing, there were times were Pacquiao stopped in the ring and looked like he was motioning for JMM to come forward.
It begs to ask how can Manny take punches from bigger foes at welter when he was getting "stunned" (nobody has been able to kd him yet) at featherweight. The highly intelligent Flomos along with Sr. Roger, and the Maywether familiy would like to submit from their imaginations the evidence of performance enhancing drugs.... More logically, I think Pacquiao is just healthier, better schooled, and because he is not restricted can build some muscle to aid with power. But logic loses to fantasy everytime in flomoland.
Absolutely, I'm not very knowledgeable in boxing. But I'm sure that Pacquiao is probably one of the very very few fighters today that don't have struggle to drop down in weight by just fighting at/near his natural weight.
Legends like Barrera, Morales, Marquez and greater fighters like Diaz, jorge solis, oscar larios, etc. Could not... Could it be Manny had better durability the higher he went in weight, Better skills, better training, or are guys like Torrecampo just better then those guys? Or Maybe they just punch harder then Barrera, Morales, etc.
Poor nutrition and probably sub-training
Pacquiao was really hurt by that body-shot by the guy who outweighed him 17 pounds. Imagine if Margs had his plaster... Pacquiao may have been knocked down or worse.
During round 6 I thought Pacquiao was going to go down but he managed to escape out of the ropes.
Still found it amazing that Pacquiao even thought of trying to go toe to toe at all in the fight.
Just curious. He hurt Pac pretty bad without the gloves, could he have KO'd Pac with loaded gloves?
If he had loaded gloves he would have been able to do it when Pacquiao tries going toe to toe.
He could have done it without the loaded gloves when Paquiao was being reckless.
I haven't been on for about a week (since the fight).
I want to say that I have been crappin on Margarito ever since Plastergate and I do believe he has used plaster in previous fights (maybe even all his fights). I mean if he says he didn't know Capetillo put plaster in his gloves, how can he say for sure he never had it in his gloves? Anyway, that said....
During the fight with Pacquiao I found myself cheering for Pac in the beginning and happy Tony was taking a beating, then midway through I started to feel bad for him and towards the end I felt like I was watching a Rocky movie. Tony just kept coming and coming and never gave up, he showed alot of heart and gained my respect. Tony is a warrior. What do you guys think?
I thought that the fight showed that he'd be a tough fight for any fighter that doesn't have the movement or power to keep him from overwhelming you even without the hand wraps.
sergio goes back and forth like a $2 hoe, he said mayweather was gonna win after the mosley fight on esnews, now he says pacquaio can win
Shows that a fight between the two would be a lot more competitive than what fans for both fighters too often believe.
I don't know how anyone can hate a fighter like Pacqiuao.
Great stuff from both fighters. Hope to see Pacqiuao recover from this and give us a few more excellent fights like this one.
i dont think they are weary of manny fighting technical boxers...mind you gentlemen that boxing is also a business...selling tickets and PPV...if they are afraid of matching manny with a technical boxer then they woudn't mention floyd's name everytime opportunities presents itself...lets face it guys technical boxers doesn't sell tickets and PPV...technical boxers dont make a compelling dramatic fight that could excite the audience and having them to :boxing:come back for more(ofcourse there are a few exceptions)...FIGHTERS with BIG heart and devil may cry attitude in the ring sells tickets and PPV that is why they are the one's that are getting paid...if technical boxers are the one's selling tickets and PPV, Manny would be all over their asses...but unfortunately their not....
That's one of the best reasons right there, an action packed brawl is more likely to catch the eye of a casual boxing fan.
Attracting more of the casual/mainstream fans is where promoters etc would stand to make the most money rather than the fewer hardcore boxing fans.
