Agreed. Joppy was just a good fighter. I also think he could give Taylor a good fight if he has something left, but it's a different reason for me. I like Taylor, but I do think he's overated. Dont get me wrong. The kid has mad talent but sometimes he looks uncordinated, and I dont think he'll ever realize how good he is. Sometimes he looks like he can just blow guys away but all he does is jab. He has a great jab but it is way overused. If he wants to beat some of the top guys he has to show more of a arsenal
Taylor is too good a fighter for an old Joppy!
I say Barrera will win and this is why:
He beat Morales before so why not again?
Barrera hasnt had his confidence crushed just by getting beaten, i bet you he learnt more after his defeat then he would have winning.
Barrera is more a strategic fighter than Morales. Barrera can anticipate whats gonna come from Morales, whilst Morales wont mind taking one and giving one, but Morales doesnt seem to have good judgement as to how hard the punch really is.
Barrera will win
Morales is gonna take this one and finally put Barrera in retirement!
barrera is an old man. hes finished. pacman took away his confidence. there is no point morrales even taking this fight. he should have fought chi, pacman, or harrison instead. barrera is finished now. he will lose in the 8th.
ill bet points with you
I agree Morales by KO in the late rounds!
i think taylor is gonna win. joppy is a tough opponent but he's gonna get knocked out cuz taylor has been improving and has some skills and a pretty good punch. only bad thing about taylor is he always fights smaller guys
Yes...Taylor is too good for an old Joppy. Taylor is the next superstar.
Is James Toney About to Turn the Lights Out on John Ruiz?
By Darren Nichols and G. Leon
January 17, 2005 - If you are BoxingTalk member then you have already heard this in his latest interview on BoxingTalk, but according to Freddie Roach, James “Lights Out” Toney is in talks with John Ruiz to vie for the Quiet Man’s WBA title. Roach went on further to share that a victory against Ruiz would then set up a fight between Toney and the winner of Vitali Klitschko-Hasim Rahman which is slated for May. "There's a few different options out there for James and by the end of the week we should have eliminated all of them, but one," said Toney's promoter Dan Goossen. -boxingtalk.net
Ruiz is a BUM!
i saw this fight last week on tape. tito
really loss this fight and i hate oscar
delahoya. how can you lose to a pretty boy
like oscar delahoya? i thought tito was good
but after this i dont know. I can't stand that
oscar delahoya but the judges ripped him off.
I cant agree with that...Tito won that fight....Oscar lost to Whitaker!
Mostly true especially the running part cause if PBF fought DLH, Mosely, Tszyu, Cotto(by next year), Hell even Lovemore N`Dou, or Tackie that's exactly what I think you'd see him doing is a shit load of running. I haven't really cared too much for Floyd's ass since he talked all that shit on "Chico" for beating his old lady, now look at his ass. I thought the best thing about the fight sat. night was Merchants comment about how Floyd was fighting that dude cause all his female sparring partners were busy!!! LOL!!!!!!!
That sh*t was funny!
Hey guys, what fighter do you think rose from the most savage knockdown to win a fight? I don't mean some flash knockdown like most of Trinidad's, but a knockdown that would have put most fighters to sleep?
My picks: Larry Holmes vs Earnie Shavers - man that right was brutal. Holmes got up, amazingly, and went on to win a decision.
Julio Diaz vs Julian Letterlough - Diaz was clocked with such a huge left hook, his head slammed against the canvas. How he was able to get up I don't know, let alone win the decision.
Fire away boxing experts.
Tony Lopez vs rocky Lockridge I...thats why it was fight of the year! It wasnt the best...but it was SWEEEEET!
If you are gonna be 15 pounds over the limit then move up....the weighin should be on the day of the fight.
I think there would be too many fights canceled if they weigh in the day of the fight. Dont you think?
I saw this fight too just
recently. it was one of the
worse robberies ever in boxing
Julio Chavez didnt win one round
but it was still called a draw.
Chavez is no legend in my book how
in the world can you take him seriously
after this robbery.
Chavez and DLH have both got some BS decisions! Whitaker could never catch a break.
WBC president Jose Sulaiman today said that if 154lb titlist Winky Wright challenges Felix Trinidad, he will be stripped of his WBC title. Wright has been ordered to face longtime interim champion Francisco Castillejo. If Winky moves ahead with the Trinidad fight, Castillejo will be declared the undisputed WBC super welterweight champion and have to defend that title at the soonest possible time against a mandatory challenger to be designated by the WBC Board of Governors.
Winky is so boring to watch...He is a good fighter and seems to win, but his fights are boring...No power!
no way. he cant beat a real
contender. all he fought was
an old man and a nobody. I bet
Sam Peter will knock him out.
I agree with that. So many people think Toney is going to be the man in the heavyweight division, I just dont see it. I was never really a fan of his. The only thing I liked from Toney is that backwards dance he did when Jones hit him! lol
