IT appears that the two mains will be Kermit Cintron VS. Antonio Margarito (provided Margarito makes it past the dangerous Manuel Gomez) and Juan Diaz VS. Ebo Elder.
What ya'll think? Will this have an impact on the sport?
It surprises me there giving Ebo Elder that fight with Diaz. I thought Courtney Burton was up comfortably before Elder scored that 12 round KO. I'd think they would be able to come up with a better opponent for a PPV event. I hear Deigo Corrales is trying to get out of his Showtime contract after that Castillo match debockle. Corrles/Juan Diaz could be the headline if ESPN's really serious about this PPV sh*t.
I had Elders winning and I'm pretty sure the juges did too. Corrales would KO Diaz at this stage. Diaz is a paper champ, not a world champion. Elders is gonna give Diaz his toughest fight to date but Diaz should win.

If they put one or two more decent fights on the ppv I might buy it.I wish they would start making all ppv like 24.95.I'm tired of paying fifty for a pile of crap.I'm talking to you Don King.
Klitschko vs Williams was the worst ppv in the past 2 years.

i would never pay for a card like that. ppv is killing boxing. nobody can gain mainstream fame because you have to pay to see everything. its just stupid, boxing was most popular when it was free and fighters still got paid well. we dont have to pay for the superbowl, nba finals, stanley cup playoffs or the world series why should we have to pay for a major boxing match? everything should be on standard cable because you can profit more that way, if the nfl can get billions of dollars from cbs why couldnt a boxing match fetch a couple mill for a fight. have a series of big fights and share the profits or even create a national association or league and than get a tv deal by selling regularly scheduled fights.
No i don't like this ppv shit theres already to much boxing on ppv. This isn't the way to bring back boxing back into the spotlight once again.
The truth has been spoken!! :D Way to much PPV boxing, then people wonder why the sport isn't mainstream.
I have been calling for this fight for a few months now, I'm glad they finally made it. Juan Diaz and Ebo Elder are 2 guys who routinely throw about 100 punches a round. I never thought I would see Elder again after he got blown out in the first against that guy on FNF, but he showed his resiliance and now has his shot at a world title. But I think Diaz is better skilled and conditioned, and he will take a unanimous decision.
Diaz-Elder is almost guaranteed to be a FOTY candidate.
I don't know whats with the hateration, this is a much better card than Vitali-Williams. You got 4 all action fighters, all who bring it everytime out. Let's look at this:
Antonio Margarito-Kermit Cintron
WBO Welterweight Title
-------------------------------
These 2 guys are pure punchers who have very exciting styles and are looking for their break out fight. This may be it for both guys. But I think Margarito is the more durable of the 2, and he KO's Cintron in 10.
Juan Diaz-Ebo Elder
WBA Lightweight Title
---------------------

Hopefully this is not showing us the fnfs intends to move to ppv in the future instead of free fights.
Nah, actually if it does well we may see more FNFs, or at least better quality ones. They'll try to build up young guys they can sell us in the PPVs.
This shouldn't be a PPV.... If they are trying to bring boxing back, they need to make the decent fights available to the public. Majority of the world do not know anybody on this card. Pure greed and it pisses me off. Plus, I am broke.
I think Cintron vs Margarito would be an entertaining fight to watch but I won't pay 25-30 bucks for it. I'd rather wait and watch the replay. I'm not that impressed with Diaz. He has good skills but little power.
Yeah, that's not the greatest card. If HBO had that they'd probably put it on After Dark. Maybe if it's cheap it will do well. I don't know...
By the way, is Cintron fighting a tune-up before this one? I thought he was going to do a FNF special first.
Him and margarito were going to fight on the same card as tune ups and clash in april, but Cintron injured his hand and said he will go straight to margarito in April, permitted his hand is healed.
Cintron vs Margarito will be a war, All boxing rules will be thrown out the window on this one.

No not really, It proves nothing in my opinion but how much is it going to run? $24.95? Will it be replayed?
They are pretty decent fights but no caliber to it. Cintron will gas out against any tough opposition in the late rounds and wont stand a chance if he moves up, well sure he would now that all the A class fighters are moving to a weight he cant make.
Margarito can throw a punch, and has a decent chin but anyone who boxes him will win.
They are exciting with no point, I think but im picking Ebo over Diaz.
