Morrell is not shot - Morrell was was a guy that had been built up well but had never faced a B- or even C+ level guy in his career (outside of Benavidez).
Dude was built up to be cashed in. The ranked guys he beat have done nothing since he beat them because they too were built up to be cashed in.
Many such cases.
Even though it would probably be a walk in the park for Joshua at this point, I get the feeling that they're not going to take any risks ahead of the potential Fury fight.
Make Wilder-Chisora II as the lead support fight/co-main on the undercard of Joshua-Fury.
That would be a legendary card, even if everyone involved is past-prime.
Doesnt take away the facts of what I stated. Their futbol programming alone, is dope af, and brings in more money than boxing will ever
Why are you talking about football? This is a boxing forum and my point was about boxing.
DAZN tried to take over boxing and failed miserably.
More like pbc. Dazn is an international sports channel/app. Boxing is only one of many sports they show
DAZN spent a billion dollars planning up buy up all the talent and own the sport.
Didn't happen.
Instead, they handed out welfare checks to nobodies like Tevin Farmer and Demetrius Andrade.
You guys haven't been paying attention. Floyd has been selling properties for fractions of what he paid for them and taking out loans.
Read the Business Insider article - he's being taken for a ride by every low-level crook he comes into contact with. Now some lawyers have got him to file expensive lawsuits - lawsuits he will surely lose and pay the lawyers a lot of money in the process.
Dude is just dumb. Nothing else to say about it.
Nope.
Boxing is going to the UFC model. How it works over there is how its gonna work over here once Turki finishes owning the sport. At least stateside.
Like it or not, it's how its gonna be.
That is never going to happen. Too many promoters have their grasps on some of the sanctioning bodies who also plays favoritism and bend the rules for star fighters.
It would be great if it happened and the word contender will have meaning again.
Look around - the big time promoters no longer exist. They definitely aren't influencing anyone to do anything, anymore. HBO is gone, Showtime is gone, Top Rank and PBC have no TV deals. Don King and Lou DiBella are pretty much out of the game, Haymon has a foot out the door, Gary Shaw is long gone, Oscar is just going through the motions.
The only one with any money or influence is Turki.
This is not some act to make boxing more honest, by the way - it's just a plan to establish a legal path to a defacto "major league" in boxing in America (Zuffa), and put another nail in the coffin of the rest of the promoters.
Bro. No one is posting about Kabayel because there ain't no German Musl1m fans on BoxingScene.
Dude has no constituency here to argue with or troll.
No one cares about him one way or the other. Come on.
Dana White, for all his faults, said it best years ago "the promoters treat every event like a going-out-of-business sale."
This is the outcome of feeding garbage to fans for year - the people left, and they're not coming back. There's not enough of a core fanbase to sustain the sport in America. Boxings going to be as niche as Kickboxing and K2 in my lifetime.
Yeah, I've always been skeptical Margaritos gloves were loaded against Cotto. Possible? Yeah. For certain? Nah.
Cotto won the rematch because he stayed off the ropes and didn't let Margarito land the same combination on him all night long.
Turki needs to give this guy a serious payday so he can afford to retire. If you listen to him talk in interviews, its clear his faculties have diminished. Damn shame.
I've defended Donaire fighting on many times on here because, if there's literally no one else in the division outside of the champ(s) that can beat him, how can you tell him to retire? How can you tell a guy that's probably in the top ten in two divisions to hang em up?
But I heard him in an interview on Mannix and Mora's podcast earlier this year and HOLY SH!T, the man's speech is completely unrecognizable from what it was a decade ago.
He needs to retired IMMEDIATELY.
High risk low reward.
Dubois' days of taking fights like that are long over. Soft touches and big money fights are are he's gonna take.... Sanchez is neither.
