Can't see Canelo standing in front of this guy and trading. He'll do his best version of a repeat performance of the Austin Trout fight. If Kirkland can cut off the ring and get inside on Canelo he has a puncher's chance. Lots of intangibles here including Canelo training out of his home and Kirkland with new people as well. Both men coming off of long lay offs too. Crowd noise should be interesting. I'm expecting a divided crowd with the wildly popular Mexican and the American fighter who is a Texas native. Canelo by UD 117 - 111, 117 - 111, 116 - 112. I'm hoping its a lot closer though...
Danny won't take this fight tho
Danny has bigger fish to fry fighting Salka and the just resurrected Malignaggi than worry about Imam
All true. Danny you were hungry 3 - 4 years now you've just been partying living off your reputation. After Imam wins the titles Garcia vacated, which he will, you can come try to get them back.
Like I've said before, I don't think he is going to fight on the date. I think he just reserved it so Canelo - Cotto can't have it. If he does fight...I agree with Kahn. Stop trying to get every little advantage and name the opponent. It is unprofessional. And what happens is...he sets precedents for other fighters to pull the same kind of nonsense in the future. That being said, I hope that its Mayfield too. Or Berto for that matter.
Dude Maidana looked horrible. Yes, Alexander did hold - alot. Still, Maidana hit him in the nuts at least once, I saw intentional headbutt and a couple of elbows too.
He should get credit because he looked good, except for the incessant holding. Maidana looked even slower and more sloppy than normal almost to the point of being a has been. He certainly has lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.
The only thing worse than the judges scorecards were Danny Garcia's sunglasses. Awesome fight and definitely better than Guerrero - Berto or Alvarado - Rios IMO. Congrats Austin Trout - you deserved it!
and how much did canelo make for fighting josesito a blown up junior welter ??
Joseito Lopez has more skill in his pinky finger than Andre Berto, who by the way was holding the entire fight and almost got KO'd in the first round by a former featherweight who has marginal punching power at 147.
Thurman clearly won. Fight seems to be a bit overrated IMO. Porter forgot to show up in the championship rounds inexplicably. Salido vs Vargas was a better fight.
I'm sure he will probably think he is the A side in that one too. Please. If I was representing either one of those fighters I wouldn't budge off of 60/40 split and a 155 catchweight. Screw GGG. He's a dirty cheater.
It seems like there are two sides to this story. The Khan "stylistically presents problems' side and the Khan STFU side. Count me in the later. So glad Floyd ain't fighting you Khan you pulpar.
Never heard of Chris Van Heerdan. A quick check to Boxrec looks like he has some decent wins altho two of his last three have been of the split decision variety. At least he's never been stopped before. Hopefully it's a decent fight. Spence has fought only bums so far...
  dominant? The only thing he's dominated is the art of collecting tomato cans. Spare us the dominant talk until he fights someone.
The art of collecting tomato cans...LMAO. That's so awesome...and true. Anyone...I mean...anyone would be a step up from the bums he's faced.
Both fighters should apologize for their disgraceful performances. Win or lose...there is nothing worse in boxing than a guy who runs his mouth before the fight saying how he is going to KO the other guy and then gets in the ring and doesn't even try to back up his words.
At least Wilder actually tries to KO his opponents.
That fight was horrific and 114-112 is a shameful score. Broner is an embarassment to the sport and should have been DQ'd for the amount of fouls that he committed. He needs to drop down to 135 as he is irrelevant 147.
Cotto comes forward a lot taylor made for Canelo. Canelo got a 3 1/2 reach advantage too. Cotto can't box him from the outside or he'll get picked apart. He's going to have to take chances and hope that he can either hurt Canelo real bad which I doubt or that Canelo eventually gases out, which he might. If it goes the distance I can see Cotto winning a decision, but I just think Canelo is too big and too strong. I see a middle to late round stoppage somewhere between rounds 8 - 10.
Jacobs gave a poor account of himself tonight inside the ring as well as in the interview afterwards. It seems like all these PBC fighters are primadonnas.
