i do feel the the thread starter is being completely bias, and is obviously a hardcore fan. However, you have to admit that was A LOT of holding. The fact that Alexander didnt even get a warning was pretty bad. And I'm surprised he didnt get a point taken away for that time when he turned Maidana around and hit him 3 straight times in the back of the head as Smoger was saying stop punching. Alexander won the fight, but i have to say i am very disappointed in how Smoger reffed the fight. He's the best in the business and my favorite ref, but he did an awful job. agree wit'cha a 100%. maidana is a rough customer but that **** was so blatant. i thought maidana was going to lay it on him after devon forearmed his head out of the ring but el chino never showed up.

Again HBO favors the "slick black" fighter and american are you smoking crack? if anything hbo are against black fighters and certainly against technical fightrers. hbo wasnt biased at all, you could only call that fight one way the way alexander dominated. he was dirty, but so was maidana. the fact that you dont even mention that shows how biased you are yet again. its on smoger tbh, he refused to do his job and put a halt to the dirty tricks. as a result the started paying eachother back and ended up going foul for foul with eachother. both of them were holding and hitting and hitting on the break, alexander more than maidana but maidana made up for it with low blows. smoger blew it completely. i mean in teh end they werent even trying to hide it, see that forearm alexander gave maidana? there were a few times when they hit eachother 2-3 times each on the break right in front of smoger and he didnt do anything. worst job of refereeing since agbeko-mares I. cant blame either fighter.

People who say that was a great performance from Alexander are a ****in idiots. I'm sick of this holding shiit. It's a disgrace to boxing. Go join MMA.

Both guys fought dirty, why ignore Marcos pushing him down and hitting him twice, he punched behind the head as well, two shots to the balls, used his head several times also...Alexander's holding was what it was a strategy that the ref didn't stop....that holding wasn't that cause of Marcos's knees buckling....and getting knocked down.....I had Marcos winning this fight prior to it happening, unfortunately it wasn't his night.

the whole time i was hoping maidana would just swing his arm in to break alexander's. i gave every round to alexander though...didnt watch the hbo broadcast. i watched the uk joint, they had given maidana 2 rounds.

Dude Maidana looked horrible. Yes, Alexander did hold - alot. Still, Maidana hit him in the nuts at least once, I saw intentional headbutt and a couple of elbows too.
