Before you give me abuse just hear me out. I just rewatched his fight with Diego Chaves and although I personally feel that was his toughest fight and best performance (as he adjusted very well) he was getting caught and was very sloppy at times. This might work against most opponents with his power but this is the guy you fans think can trouble and even beat Mayweather? "Are you serious?". Mayweather would see those punches coming all day. Chaves has a 66" reach and was catching Thurman and Mayweather has a 72" reach, that is just asking for trouble. I see Floyd outboxig the crap out of him. Numerous Mayweather opponents>Thurman. Canelo is a tougher fight that Thurman and look what Floyd did to him.
He definitely has power but most of his power comes from him winging his punches. He's definitely top 10 at worst but I favour Brook, Maidana, Pacquaio and Bradley all over him. My man Matthysse wants to move up next year and Thurman is an inch taller but has the same reach (69") and they both tend to weigh the same on fight night (157). I honestly believe that is a perfect fight for Lucas. Chaves got him on the ropes and hurt him with body shots and Matthysse has some of the best body shots in boxing. He's also a boxer puncher and I'm confident he hits harder than Thurman. (Judah, Alexander, Corley have said he hits the hardest out of their opponents).
Just my opinion. Have a nice, productive day people :boxing:

I'll be honest - Collazo gave Thurman a lot of problems.
Thurman looked pretty poor - in the same way Khan did against Algieiri.
I am a Thurman fan, but he can't cut the ring.
Why are you basing all of this on a fight from two years ago? Thurman has improved a lot since then and from the looks of his more recent fights, I think Thurman does have a chance against Mayweather.
Besides, it's not like he was in any kind of serious trouble against Chaves.
I used to say the same thing about Broner when people would bring up the Ponce fight. Thurman probably has improved, but its not comparable to night and day between now and then. Thurman gets beat by Floyd easily.
Can't give the man credit for what he did take? The hate is strong with you, young Salim.
Something else I noticed about Thurman; he looked like he hasn't slept in days. Did you see the dark circles under his eyes?
Lol na I'm just not sold on him yet. I gave him credit for beating Guerrero and Chaves. And his eyes always look like he hasn't slept in a month lol.

Isn't he a hippie lol?
I want to see him take one of these:

My take is that Collazo is a crafty veteran who went on the retreat early in the fight. It was partially caution and partially setting Thurman up. Keith is used to using his power to win fights and has a reputation as a power puncher. He got a little overconfident when Collazo started the fight backing up, but got thrown off a little when Luis suddenly started walking him down. Thurman is still young and learning and likely has learned something from this fight.
I think Thurman is good and solid, just not elite. I think he will have massive problems with Maidana, Brook and Porter, i would still favour him vs Khan, he can knock Khan out easily.
How do some retards say Thurman is a hybe job? GTFO. That Collaza stoppage looked very suspicious though as if someone came to his corner, hey man you know you're not allowed to win, you got 20k$ extra and we stop it right here, looks like his hand got injured during camp as well. I thought he would have knocked out or totally dominated Collazo but he had a very hard time with him but thats no reason to call him a hype job. Thats just retarded.
The point is that his performance was flawed and very underwhelming, the body shot Khan landed vs Maidana would have made run time crumble.

iam telling you guys the guy HAS STAMINA PROBLEMS its going to take a guy with a good chin and power to expose this more then what Robert expose THE SIGNS ARE THERE. THIS IS HIS BIGGEST FLAW
I'm watching it now as I missed it good grief Atlas' nuthugging is absolutely unbearable.. "Collazo never did it against the A level fighters which is what he is facing now" "Best athlete in boxing":wtf1::blowjob::puke:
I think it was because he punched with a low output, low volume, and that was his biggest fault tonight. He gave space to Collazo and backed up from him all the time instead of fighting on the inside and rough him the **** up or at least hold him, push him and then punch him again from mid range. In fact there would be just better solutions against Collazo's pressure than what Thurman actually did. He still won most of the rounds but he looked disappointing. He definitely needs to learn how to fight on the inside.
Yeah, you can't doubt he won and he probably would have still won however the problem is he looked underwhelming.
Collazo pretty much walked through his shots too.

I disagree on that, I think Thurman would have pulled out the decision quiet widely anyway but whatever. The point is he didn't look comfortable at all tonight and he was pressured by a guy with not so much power and not a great defense all night long.

I agree 100%, I had Collazo winning the last couple rounds and the way it was going, if they didn't butt heads, Collazo would have won the decision most likely.
