Horn losing or Horn winning, which are you talking about? Talking about a good close fight that Horn won by ud, that the judges got completely right. Jeff and his team fully realised they couldn't have got Manny at a better time Credit to Glenn Rushton for creating a plan, and credit to Horn for exacting it on the day. Manny broke through & had a humbdinger in the 9th, but other than that spent much of the fight eating right hands. Accidental head clashes in the middle rounds wasn't either man trying to fight dirty, more a case of what often happens when opposing stances are equally as competitive coming forward. Neither man complained about getting cut, so although not at all easy to score, it was an honourable performance from both with a fair result at the end.

I originally started this thread on the history section, mostly down to the fact that whenever i've mentioned Pacquiao on NSB in the past it always resulted in a bum rush of objectionable comments. Though it appears the general consensus on that section is, the topic isn't relevant to boxing history, so it's been moved to NSB.. Am pleasantly surprised however, to see the majority of comments thus far, are varied and mostly pretty sensible., Used up all my green on the best one's. Surprised to see no mention of Jimmy Wilde, one of the greatest flyweights of all time.. Benny Lynch also falls into this category.. What about Johnny Nelson? 50/50.. Crap for 8 years, then brilliant (undefeated) for the next 8.. Dabbled at heavyweight with mixed success, but was still good enough to win the WBF belt.. The experience did him good, and he returned back to cruiser with a new found confidence, winning both the WBO & WBC Titles.. At his best when outclassing Carl Thompson for the WBC belt.. At his worst when boring us all to tears aginst Carlos De Leon (Draw that should've been a NC) I'd put him at 3 or 4 on the all time cruiser list & 11 or 12 on the British P4P list..

That much is clear. Martinez is just plain better at this sport of ours. I had Martinez winning 115-113 it was just the size, will and activity that made it a barnburner. Williams has no shortage of skill but Martinez has bucket loads. Spot on! Williams lost clearly, and Martinez was robbed.. Martinez had better footwork, landed the harder punches and hurt Williams a darn site more than Williams hurt him.. Martinez even scored the cleaner KD in the 1st, and then spent the rest of the fight making Williams miss while countering with accurate and hurtful punches.. His distancing and timing were perfect, and Williams spent rounds 2,3 & 4 eating leather & punching air.. Nothing wrong with Williams's chin though, and in fairness, he did catch Martinez with some very good single shots which Sergio took just as well.. He was also the victim of a head clash in the 3rd, causing a cut on the eye lid which the cornermen done a terrific job with, but at the same time it kind of made Williams panick a little, and become a bit ragged, which suited Martinez down to the ground.. Definitely a wrong choice of style there i feel.. Don't get me wrong it was a brilliant fight, and had me bouncing all around the room, but for Paul to be described as one of the most feared fighters in the world, is totally laughable.. He's good, but he's not in the same league as McCallum, Hearns, Kalambay, Jackson, Duran & Leonard i'm afraid.. If I was him, i'd have something decent to eat and go straight up to LHWT, or he'll get destroyed prety soon.. I don't need to look at the vid... I remember this fight like it was yesterday.. Until the KO, Mundine was actually winning the fight.. Probably not on the judges cards, because lets face it.. Ottke wasn't allowed to lose in Germany.. That's why he had ALL of his fights there.. When Mundine went down.. Look at the shock on Ottke's face.. He can't believe what he's done! It was not a flush hit & Ottke couldn't bust a grape even if it was.. The ONLY genuine thing is that the punch scuffed his temple.. I know from experience what it's like, to be hit there.. I took a flush one from a HW while sparring, & the guy had the decency to hold me up while I regained consciousness.. Even so, I was only out for a few secs, but probably would not have made the count, had I been competing.. In contrast, Mundine was out cold for ages.. If it wasn't Ottke in Germany, I wouldn't be too suspicious, same as I wouldn't if Mudine had been losing... BUT, it WAS & he WASN'T.. I smell FIX.....

It makes for an interesting thread... I for one will always fight my fighters corner.. This normally starts with a fierce, but constructive debate.. However... This will then wind up a thread mugger, who will then take it upon himself to insult 'your' fighter.. I'd say, this is how the hype intensifys.. On a plus, it livens things up between the fans/posters, more often than not resulting in some really funny abuse.. On a minus, it discredits professional boxers.. But as the thread poster rightly points out, Newcastle Utd never win shit..
