There was actually a scientifically proven theory to this and a previous thread was on here somewhere regarding this subject I can't remember the thread poster but you should be able to search it. If I remember rightly the rounder the face the more likelyhood of having a better punch resistance which explains why vitali had an iron chin and alas with his more angular face was chinny. I think it has to do more with your neck than face a short thick neck means you can take a punch a long Giraffe neck means you have the chin of Amir Khan

I have never heard that the shape of your face determines how well you can take a punch to the jaw. I doubt that it does.

Probably not but who knows. When you see Canelo and GGG, they both have big boulder heads and you can just tell they can take a shot. Froch has quite a pointed chin and had a granite chin.
