Most of the reaction to a punch to the head for example is is how violently the head is moved back..... Smaller guy has less power..though may more speed....but once the connection is made you need to follow through with the rest of your body to keep the power going throught he arm/glove..hence speed of the glove throught the target (head) to get a result.. Hence fast punch no power...means a slap..(as no following power) Calzaghe for example...............(joke) Also the bigger the neck / shoulder muscles the more they support the head to prevent a violent movement.... So a neck the size of my upper leg..eg Tyson , will take a hell of a punch to have an effect..

Let me get this straigh... Amny of the PBF fans give Hatton next to zero chance of winning htis fight....I think thats a fair reflection of their views.. Yet they would like to see PBF get a heap of credit for the victory.. You can't have it both ways... Hatton is shit.....so he gets no credit... Hatton is great and PBF gets a load of credit... Not really.. I can be smart , run away and not get hit... That does not make me a great fighter.. Fighting in most peoples meaning of the word means...geting stuck in...giving some shots with menace..not just dodging your oponent... Floyd has moved too far to the avoiding part of the game... that is why people don't apreciate his skill...he's not a fighter... More of an avoider...

ODH may well be fighting at Welter weight in a future fight against Hatton....that makes him small....Do you really think ODH could beat Calzaghe...could he hell.. You give me the names of PRIME..real middle weights that Hopkins has beaten...and we are talking natural middleweights here, not welterweights looking to make a legacy or a bundle of cash... I'm struggling to think of any..Hold on a minute...Nope... At least Calzaghe has fought the best in his divsion and only fought true SMW, as no middle weight would last 2 rounds with him... Reid, Lacy ,Woodhall, Kessler and when he beat Eubank he wasn't even in his own prime...People say Eubank was over the hill, well Calzaghe wasn't even at the top of it... OK..the only one I can think of, a prime real quality middle weight who fought Hopkins when he himself was in his prime was Roy Jones...and Hopkins lost... PBF has indeed won wolrd titles a 5 weights or so, but until he totally cleans up a division and beats a number of prime fighters to stay at the top then people are going to question his ability. Cherry picking fights just so you can pick up a belt and and say...Hey another world title at another weight....is not as impressive as beating all the best fighters in the division...especially if it is done over a long period of time. PBF has not had any tough fights against "in their prime" opposition for years, and when he does fight...he steals rounds hear and there to get the paper victory.. Calzaghe reign for a decade and his recent victories against the best in the division at the age of 35 has to put him at the top of the P4P tree..If PBF beats Hatton convincingly, not another ODH re-hash, he goes back on top...

Well, even if I go with the Hopkins history lesson, and agree that Hopkins has fought better opposition in the past..which I'm not totally happy to concede.(hold on, didn't he lose against Roy Jones?)....My point is...Why is he still there.. Tha biggest difference between Calzaghe and PBF is heart.. He could have just boxed the last round, and won safely, but no..he got stuck in even though he admitted he was tired, and risked a possible knockout as Kessler was going all out for the last 3 mins..just because of pride.. He didn't want to just win ... but make a point that he's still the best at nearly 36... PBF would never do that... Joe has great skills and took some great shots from a hard hitting Kessler who surpised me with his speed , and some excellent upper cuts.. Both fighters produced a great display, loads of heart and showed why they are the best in the division It was a great fight and I'm not surprised in the slightest why the same people on this forum still crticise these fighters.....because in there opinion...if your not fighting in the USA your shit...
