Calzaghe: "I'll Knock Hopkins Out"

calzaghe's power ain't that bad but when it comes to hopkins chin i do doubt it ends by ko for calzaghe

Joe is insane if he thinks he's KO'ing someone with a chin like Hopkins'. I don't even think he'd win a decision against my boy Bernard.

I have great fear if the ref turns out to be American. That Yank ref for the Kessler fight was appalling. He pulled Joe away when he looked to be on the verge of finishing Kessler off in the 8th round I think. Appalling. Appalling Yank ref.

This fight will be similar to Bika vs Calzaghe but Hopkins will do much better he will rough Calzaghe up on inside and get Calzaghe off his rythm this will be horrible style match up for Calzaghe it won't be a good watch but Calzaghe will just do enough to earn a SD. Exactly. Bika beat the shit out of Joe physically even though he lost comfortably. But he gave Joe complete hell. Hopkins is the master of taking opponents out of their gameplan. I think that Hopkins has a chance. but he definitely is an under dog in my opinion.

Calzaghe has shown time and time again he is capable of knocking people the fuck out, where have you been?

In my opinion a fight with Hopkins is a no win situation. If he wins he beat an old man who's 200 years older than him. If he loses he lost to a man 200 years older than him. But with that said and Hopkins being an old man. I still don't think he would be able to KO Hopkins. Bernard since the Taylor fights has fought with great caution and hardly ends up taking a lot of punishment. It will be a tactical fight as always with Hopkins.

floored Lacy for the first time I thought Calzaghe broke his hands during that fight? I'm assuming his brittle hands prevented him from TKOing Jeff Lacy. Anyways I'm surprised Calzaghe said this, I thought he wasn't willing to go to America.

iv seen many of calzaghes early fights and he can definately bang. its jus more recently he hasnt thrown powerful punches cus of his hands

I dont see why he cannot KO Hopkins,he had Kessler hurt until the ref and then the bell saved him.I think Hopkins would be easier to KO at 175 for Calzaghe.

I know you can't look too much into this but Calzaghe has said he would be a beast at 175, he sai after the Kessler fight, "If you think that is good you should see me at 175". Maybe he thinks because the Hopkins fight is at light heavy he will be more powerful and be less strained to get his weight down, so he may blow Hopkins away. But it I agree it would be a assive ask to get the KO I would tend to agree that Calzaghe will perform better at 175. He has been saying for years that making 168 is a strain.

If Roy Jones in his prime couldn't knock Hopkins out, then I don't think Calzaghe will, but Joe should win a UD.

Thats like saying your going to KO James Toney, its possible but highly unlikely.

hey joe can ko people. he just didn't for some reason throw that many powerful hits. then again i htink his dad told him to box because he was boxing kessler's head off. agaisnt hopkins a dirty fight would result in his dad telling him to throw his flurries i feel. joe has soem fast combo's for a smw/ maybe lhw too. he does hold back on the chance his hand will break, but then again this is a big fight and fuck your hand. go for it i say I agree with this in part. Calza would have a better chance of getting a stoppage against Hopkins, even though Hop has a Grade A chin, because that fight would call for flurries and there's a chance of an eventual referee intervention. Against Kessler the right thing to do was to confuse Kessler with the boxing and style changing.

If Calzaghe didn`t have brittle hands he could KO Hopkins. Earlier in his career he showed tremendous power. Eubank had one of the best chins in SMW history and was floored by Calzaghe. These days i think Calzaghe is more likely to get a stoppage win than a clean Knockout.

Calzaghe is delusional!! He can box with the bext of them but he aint knocking anybody out. he just doesn't have the power.
