I'd give him an 8 for clearing out his division and stepping up to 175.
With his skills though, Joe should have scored a 10 by taking on elite fighters in his prime (before his hands turned to china).
if u knew ur facts u would know hopkins pulled out of there fight deal by doubling his demands in 2002.so wots hater got 2 say now?
Im pretty sure that was for a fight in wales mate, so what, Hopkins didnt wanna fight in Wales, im talking about Calzaghe going to America and forcing the fight.
But he had a fear of flying right?
:ugh:
Ps. Im actually not a hater, im just not gonna arse-lick a guy because he comes from the same area of the world as I do.
And what happened when they did fight? Calzaghe went life and death with a 43 year old hopkins and got put on his ass in round 1.
Nah mate, I dont think Hopkins is scared of Joe, he's been calling him out for rematch, which he would do anywhere, but calzaghe doesnt do rematches right?
Somewhere between 7 and 8.
Eubank was a good victory. He was past his prime, but Calzaghe was largely unproven at that point.
Reid was at his prime and he was a very underrated fighter who sans Ottke robbery would have had a greater reputation.
Woodhall, Brewer, Sheika and Mitchell were all capable opponents.
Forget the bullshit about Lacy. Prior to his Calzaghe beatdown he was ten times the fighter he is today.
Kessler is a top opponent (even if he seems unwilling to prove it these days).
Hopkins's demolition of Pavlik demonstrated he isn't past it.
Sure, it isn't the resume of a Pacquiao or Duran. But it certainly isn't a weak one either.
JC is a solid 8, resume wise. Performance wise he's a 10.
Besides Ottke who refused to fight him, Joe beat every top contender in his division for a decade. There were NO big name American SMW's for Calzaghe to fly to the states to fight, so lets stop pretending there was without naming names!
yall can just throw me in the "hater zone" then.......3/10......the most accomplished fighters he beat were sayin' hi to 40......his most creditable win was against Kessler.
Thats a bit harsh on Joe Seks :)

It's too funny, the latest one is
"Calzaghe fought who he could"
Hmmmm yea, apparently he pulled out of a Glen Johnson fight twice and according to his promoter wasnt willing to go to america and force a fight with the two well known names in and about that weight class.
Then he said jones was old and that he had nothing to gain by fighting him, then he fights jones and is quoted as saying "Roy's still dangerous"
And even now, arguably the best light heavy in the world is calling him out, but he has nothing to prove anymore right? There's no one out there anymore right? that's why he's retiring? its got nothing to do with keeping that 0 right?
:ugh:

6/10.
For a guy who is talented IMO His resume could have been a lot better if,
A. He ditched Frank Warren a lot sooner.
B. Didn't take 10 years to unify.(See above)
C. Went up to 175 a lot earlier as well.
What if?
Seems fair, guy was world class no doubt about it, but for me there are plenty unanswered questions.
Also.....
D. If he fought Chad Dawson.

The group of posters who gave him a 1 are a$%holes but the group who gave him a 10 aren't much better.

LMAO at some of these poll results, didnt this guy fight carlos christie?
And the usual suspects still give him 10.
So he has an equal resume to that of Ali?
Ring #2, 10 year champ, ring champ at 2 weights, 46-0, and 9 people give him a ****ing 1!
I gave it an 8
