Yes, that's right. I don't care what your criteria are for p4p...mine are simply this: fighter x is the best, and can beat anyone regardless of weight-class.
Joe is able to take risks and still win in convincing fashion vs top flight opponents. I thought Kessler would win, and he is very good...but Joe is great. The eyes do not deceive. I know a great fighter when I see one and so do all of you. It's time to stop living in a fantasy world.
Regardless of weight, Joe is the best. P4P, if naturally the same weight as either Floyd or Pacquiao, Joe would beat them both.
I don't care about what Floyd did at 130 or 135. I don't care what Pac did to MAB and EM. Joe beats them both, and I am putting him at 'p4p number one' until/unless Floyd dominates Hatton.
PBF, Joan Guzman, Ivan Calderon, JMM, Bitchnard and Stinky are all more skilled then Joe.
Hell ya ! And Kessler n Lacy ! Dam it even Hatton has more skill and good lucks than JC.
Hopkins has had a long and great career. Some of his fights were boring, and you can detract from anybody's wins the same way you do Hopkins. I want to see Hops take on Joe, but Joe is the best fighter in boxing and is too active for Hops. The conclusion is not foregone however...so let's get it on.
Hopkins never acknowledged anything other than a respect for Calz, which you twist into your own words by saying that Calz' resume can even light a candle to Bernard's, which it can't..
Well, the only names I see on Hopkins career at 160 are Taylor, Jones, Trinidad, De La Hoya. LOST, LOST, PUFFED UP WELTER, PUFFED UP LIGHTWEIGHT, WELTER.
Calzaghe's accomplishments stack up favourably with Hopkins'. Hopkins himself acknowledges this.

Damn ........The only way to make Calzaghe Relevant is to make comparisons to Mayweather.
Compare his "accomplishments" to that of Roy Jones Jr. or Bernard Hopkins..................................and then there was SILENCE
alot of that has to do with dios and his rediculous campaign against calzhage, and then fans on both coasts throwing out just outright crap, along with threads like JOE IS P4P NUMBER 1 RIGHT NOW, and even this thread claiming joe is the greatest fighter in boxing right now. I mean its just outlandish in my opinion, never was i once thinking about mayweather watching the calzhage fight, i come on here and its being forced down my throat.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, how is PBF undisputed at 147 without fighting Mosley, Cotto, or Williams?
Because he beat Baldomir, the third greatest WW of all time behind SRR and SRL.

because he holds the linear championship, he won it at a time when cotto hadnt even had a single fight at 147, mosley coming off his KO victory at 154 against vargas openly turned down a november showdown with floyd, and williams hadnt even won a title.
floyd beat both the linear champions in the same year.
PBF cleaned out 135 and 130 and is undisputed at 147 so you cant really say that nor can you question his ability, PBF has had 2 fights...2 fights where he dominated, but because he did it in a fashion that didint suit YOU his whole career is judged by 2 fights he dominated, i think thats unfair. as many times as floyd has gone toe to toe and demolished opponents, his judgement is passed on him based on 2 fights.

nothing about the judah fight left anything to be desired though, even if you want to say his performances against baldomir and dlh were lackluster, the judah fight was one he was openly losing and he came back and dominated in world class fashion.
I think it was more of a Judah capitulation than Floyd upping the ante significantly.
It would be impossible for Hatton to replicate the achievements of Mayweather as he has neither the style nor the speed of Mayweather. I don't want to take anything away from Floyd, he is an exceptional talent, but his performances since Gatti have left alot to be desired in my opinion.

well.....i mean, to be honest man, floyd having dominated the undisputed welterweight champion, and fighting a guy who was faster and stronger than him (judah), and beating probably the best fighter at 154 in De La Hoya, you have to ask yourself, if hatton had done these things with the factors that play into them, and the titles at stake one of them being the undisputed championship of the world, would you be saying the same things? especially if hatton was 4 weights above his normal weight of 140, which puts him at 160.

Calzaghe has produced two world class performances in the last 18 months. Mayweather has produced none.

What have you done for me lately?
Beating an aging Oscar is not better than beating Kessler in his prime. Not only that, but Joe's win was more impressive in nature. Joe's speed allowed him to do great things, but unlike Floyd, he is not content with just looking calm and collected. He takes many risks and tries to hurt people.
And like I said, I do this based on the classic definition of who beats who given they were the same weight. Joe beats Floyd, right now, any day of the week if they weigh the same.
So what grounds can you compare mayweather to calzaghe?

he's undefeated,,stands in there and dominates his opponents. its as simple as that. he beats everyone put in front of him
its not a step too far. mayweather shouldnt even be undefeated. he lost to castillo in that first fight. that decision was a joke
So what grounds can you compare mayweather to calzaghe?
I seriously cant believe we now are now comparing Calzaghe to mayweather.
In a nutshell.
Mayweather:5 weight world champ,
beat Castillo x2, corrales, De La Hoya Judah, hernadez,
Calzaghe 1 weight world champ.
Beat Lacy, Eubank and Kessler.
Let not even talk about skills.
Seriously Calzaghe is good, but this is a step too far.
