good one...my point is that not only is he active in the sport, he's been active at the highest level...name the fighter that he was training in the movie...i bet you can't...now get a life, people like you with nothing to say are what make this board hard to take seriously
the whole film was bullshit, and so staged it was ridiculous, the director just took advantage of an ex-junkie who happened to be tied to an infamous event in sports, we learned no new information and just got to watch this junkie resto go through awkward situation after awkward situation that ultimately shed no new light on the subject, just for a couple of bucks and so this filmmaker can make a name for himself
mosley's knows he's getting old, which is why he's so impatient about getting in there with one of the top guys, a few years ago he would be more than happy about getting in there with berto but he doesn't want to run the risk now of aging overnight and getting stopped by a second-tier guy, if he's gonna go out he wants to do it at the top level, de la hoya style
i don't remember the WBO being considered a major belt until recently...we used to have champions in boxing, now we have titleholders...think of how many bums you've heard introduced as former world champions and how many hold titles now, its all bs
its sad that a fighter like barkley who beat tommy hearns twice went on to lose eleven more fights after this before calling it quits...this article shows how after boxing he ended up back right where he came from without a dime to his name

college boxing would be useless and have no impact on the professional boxing scene, and who said amateur boxing isn't a big deal already, top fighters are identified at an early age, a select few go to the olympics, and most of the good ones turn pro eventually, the system isn't broke at that level, its the pro level that could use some help
he did what he had to do, the ref didn't do his job but bradley certainly did his, there wasn't any arrogance, he was punishing nate and there's no reason to think a rematch would go any differently
yeah its a moot point, but rules are rules, nate didn't show enough to warrant a rematch in my opinion, i think he would have gotten stopped had the fight continued...bradley benefits from the home cookin', i bet don king's juice is enough to change it to a no decison tho
here's what i wrote in the other thread
i thought it kinda sucked...it was just an hour and a half of beating a dead horse, panama and resto already were convicted and did time, and both know what was going on...we all knew this before we watched the movie...much of it looked staged and even scripted...the director made a big deal about how panama requested payment each time...you think resto wasn't paid? of course he was, and the acting job on his part was terrible, his true feelings on the matter were shown right after the incident when he told the media he did nothing wrong...he's thought about it every day? bullsh*t, he's just a broke ex (?) junkie who needed some cash and here's this guy who's willing to pay him money to "get to the bottom of this"...c'mon man, it was almost hard to watch how fake the whole thing seemed
malignaggi gets love because he's got heart, i thought he was another growing up gotti guido douche bag when i first saw him on local cable, but both the cotto fight and the diaz fight have earned him my respect
the fight's over, cotto won...if clottey won he'd still be in the same position fighting shane mosley, it doesn't matter, i'm puerto rican and i'm a big fan of clottey...keep in mind that he lives and trains in the bronx but he's not from there and also that most of the crowd was probably not from the bronx...where else but in a room of ghanians or hardcore boxing fans would clottey get love, someone let me know
bob's absolutely right about ufc, especially about the audiences, most people who watch ufc would never be boxing fans even if there was no ufc...he's a con-man but i have a newfound respect for him...
