Mine would definitely have to be John Quiet man ruiz vs Hasim Rahman in 2003.
Punch, clinch, clinch, punch, clinch, and clinch, and clinch,
ref breaks, then back to clinch, break, clinch.
One of the worst fights I can imagine between 2 heavyweights.
Anybody remember this fight?
It makes wlad/sultan look like Ali/frazier..
Klitschko-Ibragimov, I can't believe I stayed up for this. I thought seeing as it was the first HW unification fight in a while that Wlad would try to make a statement but no it was the same jab, jab right hand affair that he always does.
Hopkins-Hakkar. It was funny for awhile though watching Morade run.
this was my first thought too! The best part of the fight was merchant running Hopkins down after the fight in the interview.although tua/Rahman 2 undercard was good.
Wlad Klitschko-Ibrahimov that was insomnia for me and my wife, The funniest thing was we were all up for the fight because of the unification only to see one fighter that doesnt want to throw in case the bigger guy lands his big right hand while the other would rather slap his opponents hands down like a child school ground play.
These fights surely come to mind as 'bore-fests' in my opinion simply because of the hype involved for the 'build-up' and the complete let-down it was to watch the fight...
Hopkins-Calzaghe (You could even see Stallone in the background getting pissed with all the clinching going on...)
DLH-Mayweather, Hatton-Mayweather (With all the hype & trash-talking by "Money" May, these were snooze fests...but what can we expect from a defensive minded genius...even though "Money" May is a bore to watch, you have to respect the wins...although his 'ducking' will surely hurt his ATG status...)
Geez, there's been too many, where do I start.
Recent fights, I'd have to go with Luevano - Bernabe Concepcion.
Roy Jones Jr. vs James Toney
Pernell Whitaker vs. Oscar De La Hoya
Tito Trinidad vs. Oscar De La Hoya
Bernard Hopkins vs. Oscar De La Hoya
Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar De La Hoya
any fights involving John Ruiz, Corey Spinks, Junior Witter
Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Naseem Hamed(yes, it was boring!! Forget for one moment the significance of the fight, pretend that you didn't know a d&mn thing about both fighters and it was the first time you saw 'em fight. It was basically a guy,MAB, who fought a lil too cautious for my taste AND NAZ would really just throw one punch at a time, if any, in some of those rounds)
And the majority of ESPN's FNF.
I don't know how you can say MAB .HAMED was boring?? even if they weren't big names..also luevano concepcion wasnt that bad.
Hopkins vs Tarver or Hopkins vs Wright
People give Hatton and Ruiz so much crap for hitting and holding, but when Hopkins does it its called great even old skool.
Bernard Hopkins - Insert name.
+1
You forgot
Winky Wright - insert name
John Ruiz - insert name
Floyd vs Baldomir better than any sleeping pill ever made.
