In my opinion it may be in GGG interest to get as much as possible but try to make the fight happen. Canelo would be only fighter at 160 where he can get a huge payday. If he wins there is nobody left to justify a huge payday unless moving up. If he loses the invincible aura is gone and would never get the same fighting someone else at 160. Canelo is also a flight risk meaning that at any point he can decide screw GGG, i'll go in another direction and there goes the money.

I agree with everyone on here and it made me realize another possible point....fighters aren't trained in that style anymore. To link back to what's being said, trainers look at the top dogs in the sport (past & present) and try to teach their fighters that style. Reminds me of when Berto all of a sudden thought he was Floyd with the Philly shell in his first fight with Hunter. A reverse of that to someone else's point is Amir Khan. Under Roach he tried to emulate Manny and now with Hunter you see this fluid style a little.

Thats why i'm thinking Hunter has been so quiet. He's drafting this long, drawn out plan with options A, B, C, etc. You can tell when he first started working with Khan and Berto he wants them to fight a certain way according to a plan made in camp and then adjust. Its just with Ward he's done that for so many years its automatic.

No. I expect him to KO Vargas. He already beat Bradley fairly easily and Bradley beat Vargas easily until the 12 round when Vargas caught him coming in with a big straight right. Vargas isn't that good and either Mayweather or Pacquiao should easily beat him. A win over Vargas changes nothing when it comes to comparing Pacquiao to Mayweather. And when he does KO Vargas then will come all the "Pac has his killer instinct back...Pac is putting all 140-147 fighters on notice...blah, blah, blah". Then he'll fight Crawford, get countered relentlessly, have JMM flashbacks and goes back to being a politician...and im a Pac fan

Can't watch the video yet but I don't know GGG as an inside fighter. Usually he dismantles his opponents before they can get inside. I may be wrong though. If Brook is a strong at the weight as he believe himself to be then he may have a shot. GGG is no Porter so i don't think he'll get mauled on the inside but he has to be careful if he steps out. If GGG times him stepping out it could be over

I've watched of lot of Foreman's fights and I agree with what these guys are saying. Big George wasn't fast on his feet, to put it tactfully, and he didn't have fast hands either. But he could judge range and distance well and he was great at cutting the ring. For a man as ponderous as Foreman to cut the ring as well as he did proves that he was an intelligent, thinking fighter. He was also very accurate with his punches, especially the jab. Ali suckered Foreman in their fight. Foreman expected Ali to move and be evasive, and when Ali went to the ropes and stayed there, taunting Foreman and inviting him to go for a KO, Big George forgot about pacing himself and went for it with everything he had. Ali's almost inhuman capacity to absorb punishment, plus the terrible heat and humidity, all combined and contributed to George punching himself out. There was a reason why Ali didn't give Foreman a rematch. He knew George wouldn't have fallen for the rope-a-dope trick again. Ali would typically try and win the fight before it starts. The immediate boxer i think of that does this too is Hopkins, who is a student of the game.

Lol, if you think it was 25+ lbs of muscle then you don't know how weight cutting as a professional athlete works. He had to eat/drink a lot to make the HW limit in the first place. He didn't have the natural body to be a HW. Once the fight was over, he would have started to drop weight naturally as he probably didn't consume as many calories to stay at the HW limit. Majority of that cut was water weight. He just cut a crazy amount in such a short period that I don't think his body was used to it and he looked really flat. Cutting that much weight at his age is never good. Yep, pretty much the downfall of his career. Think i seen another post about dropping weight this way reduces punch resistance. Maybe its true

True. But it does have something to do with ones understanding of the sport. Not sure that's true. You can guess 100% and still don't know what a right cross is. Also, what is your predictions based on, what the fighter/coach said to the media about camp? There are many facets of the fight game and if you just started watching and don't learn about the sport you can't be a hardcore fan. Fighters moving up and facing bigger guys have been done for ages. Because of that i don't mind this fight. My only issue is GGG's team claim of wanting to clear out the division and no one wants to fight. There are so many fighters available that have more of a name than GGG's recent opposition.

Now that Loma and Walters have moved up to 130 Rigo has decided it's safe up to 126. Agreed, either that or him and his team feel they can beat who's left at 126 so its safe to move.

If Brook is as good a boxer as people say then he should do ok depending on his heart and chin. GGG is not invincible and has flaws that his past opponents either A) do not the skill to exploit or B) don't last as long to try.

So let me get this straight, Floyd is getting credit for beating a washed up Mosley , a damaged goods and past prime Cotto, a smaller Marquez who fought at tht weight for the first time, wht other past prime or inexperienced fighter u gonna give him credit for? Canelo? How bout when the welterweight division was swarming with prime guys like Marg, Cotto, Clottey, Williams etc. all fighting eachother yet Floyd did not want any part of those guys instead he retires! I would have been closer to believing that if it was Pac's Left that was injured and he dropped it and couldn't use it and reduced throwing it by 50 percent. But it was his Right and he still used his right and this fight really came down to styles. I have believed since the first day the boxing world talked about a potential match between the two that Mayweather would win and roughly 116-112 and I believe that with both fighters in their prime or past their prime, Mayweather would win, shoulder or not. Agreed, I think though if they fought in their prime Floyd would have schooled Manny even worse. Younger Floyd, especially PBF was faster, meaner and crazy accurate. Once he would have timed Manny it would have been a Mayweather vs Gatti like performance. I knew the fight would play out the way it would.

Manny is great, that's true but not considered a great defensive fighter. His greatest defense has always been his overwhelming offense. Manny can be timed if you can deal with the barrage of punches. He's predictable in that he does a stutter step, jab or a 1-2 the circles out to the right. He's hard to time but any exceptional counter puncher can do it.

Nah I agree it makes for a very interesting fight. Especially Broner finally hitting rock bottom being in jail. Maybe this makes him get serious and focus.. but it's Broner so maybe not. I think it would be an exciting fight though. Maid analysis couldn't put Broner away amd Floyd has frail hands so AB might throw caution into the wind and go right at him. With his hands that could make for an interesting 12 rounds of "can he catch him?!!" They always say the most dangerous man is one with nothing to lose. I think AB has hit this point so we''ll see.

It was definitely bigger since if Hopkins would have one it would have been a big deal. But Hopkins was fighting Kovalev and JDJ since Jackson knew all about Hopkins tricks. I see the Ward fight as if the clocked was turned back and Hopkins was younger. Too bad they dont sell it that way

Sr is right about the age thing. As much as May Jr wipes the mat with Broner, he may not enter the ring May Jr he might enter as old May. An old may would have certain difficulties with a few of the young prime lions and even though Broner is a fuck up, he's young and talented enough to pull out an upset on an over the hill Mayweather if Jr happens to age drastically over the couple years he would have been gone if the fight does get made. The fight makes me think of how Broner idolized Floyd in the beginning of his career and getting tips, advice etc. Might be a long shot but if Broner comes in 100% focused it could be an interesting fight. Floyd is old enough where he's slowed down enough for Broner to have changes yet Floyd knows all about Broner's style. Add in any true animosity/jealousy and it could be interesting...or i could be wrong

This is 2016, Manny is not the killer he once was and for some reason fools think he's the same fighter that beat down Margarito and highlight reeled Hatton. Crawford will win by decision, people that DKSAB will claim he "ran" and post a crap load of "slow motion" replays and we'll keep having Pac vs Crawford fights until Pac finally dominates or gets caught by another counter by a counterpucher

What title does Timmy have?? Povodnikov the killer lost to Algeri....Spence damn near killed him. Algieri won the fight with Provodnikov but its not like he blitzed him. This is also the Ruslan no one really knew about until after the war with Bradley....who unlike Algieri fought more toe to toe like a maniac. I never said Bradley current has a title but in fact lost to only one person who in fact currently has a title and is future HOF. Although Spence spanked Algieri he has a way to go until he is considered top level.
