The way i see it is that all us boxing fans are bi curious at the very least. Look at the facts....thousands of men turning upto a weigh-in like they care about weight! the truth is we're there to watch a man in his underwear flex is muscles and if we're really lucky enough, he'll take them off to make weight. Look at the excitement Canelo's fantastic snake caused on this forum. We watch it to watch men with great bodies and hope one of them dominates another one, we think we're enjoying the combat but subconsciously we are relating it to our sexual desires. Look how many of these threads come up and how often. Behind every joke there's an element of truth or wanting to admit something. The sooner us boxing fans admit we're all bi-curious at least, the more we can enjoy the sport together.
No............
Ronda Rousey is returning to UFC in December, meanwhile tonight in the WWE, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks had one heck of a Hell in the Cell match.
Manny and Jesse do battle next week on PPV.
As a fan of combat sports, can you see yourself watching mix martial arts or pro wrestling and if you watch both, how does it compare to the other combat sport we love, boxing?
I watch them both.
The only comparison is that boxing is one of the MMA disciplines.
Other than that, most people on this forum post about boxing....hence this is a boxing forum...
Cosign. I thought the thing with him was that he's ready for pretty much any elite in his class....
Loma should only be fighting world title holders and looking to unify at least 2 other titles in the next 18 months.
Cosign..........
Doesn't matter how many fights he's had, he's thought of as one of the best fighters out there now. Don't win a championship if all you want to do is fight stiffs. I swear fans have such low expectations for fighters nowadays. This era is so soft
Don't be surprised if you're waiting for the tickets and this guy pulls up in a van.

This is me and Slick_Ricks conversation on GGG vs Jones
GGG has some real die hard fans but really, what has he done, and who has he defeated to illustrated that he could beat a prime Jones from 160-175, let alone beat a heavyweight, John Ruiz?

sorry bro...GGG isnt knocking out a prime Jones who only got dropped 1 time before age 35 and that was against a 175er
great timing against who? GGG has not fought an elite slick boxer or defensive fighter with quick reflexes so......
Slick_Ricks reply
You are thinking too simplistic. They might be bigger then GGG, but you are failing to take into account the angles and the connection of impact of the punches. Many of GGG sparring partners says he hits like a LHW.
Ruiz is one of the worst HW champions in recent history. GGG is a much better boxer then him. I would even favor GGG against him, stopping him, in fact.
Tarver was a very good boxer but i would still say GGG has the more talented offense.
If Jones makes it to the end of the 12, he wins, but i just dont think he will make it...
who agrees, and what are your thoughts.....GGG fighting a heavyweight when these guys say he is too small for 168? beating ATG jones and a heavyweight in Ruiz....yea right ....smh

I've been in the ring during sparring sessions and that's where the work is done....especially if the fighters don't know each other.
That being said. I could see Golovkin getting dropped with a body shot in sparring but it doesn't mean he's weak in the body. Many times the sparring sessions go on after fighters have worked out and such. Regardless, that's the type of work you want in sparring.
Probably the most infamous fight in history.....literally ruined Durans career over night and shocked the boxing world to its core
Agreed! The moment couldn't be capture via picture. You had to see video or the fight live...Historic
I thought this was fascinating. I know this is UFC stuff, but considering MMA is a competitor to boxing I thought this thread belonged here. It goes to show that the UFC deal was smoke and mirrors.
Report: Fed cautioned Goldman Sachs about UFC deal
http://mmapayout.com/2016/10/report-...bout-ufc-deal/
October 7, 2016
Bloomberg.com reports that the Federal Reserve bank cautioned Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. over debt risks in a deal it arranged to fund the $4 billion purchase of the UFC.
Goldman Sachs was hired to market the debt to purchase the UFC this past July. Regulators have criticized deals that push a company’s debt load to more than six times its earnings.
“Add-backs,” which estimate a company’s future profitability after an acquisition or buyout were used to double projected cash flow for the UFC. The concern is that the projections may be too optimistic for the companies that are purchased. This could lead to a default which is the reason why the Federal Reserve cautions deals where the debt load looks to be more than the projected earnings.
According to the Bloomberg story, prospective investors were shown estimates that EBITDA would more than double from $142M to $298M. Per the article, the adjustments had the effect of lowering UFC’s leverage to 6 times EBITDA.
The UFC raised a total of $1.8 billion of debt which included $1.4 billion in first lien loans and another $425 million in second lien loans. Based on the current EBITDA of $142M this would have the company leveraged at approximately 12x EBITDA.
Payout Perspective:
Notably, the Bloomberg report states that the UFC’s EBITDA as of June 30th was $142 million. A previous SBJ report had the EBITDA at $180 million although that did not have “as of” date. The obvious goal of the Fed is to reduce the risk of default in acquisitions. While the deal may never reach critical mass in terms of a default on the debt, the deal is considered high risk.
The MMA fanboys are going to hurt you for posting this....

This is a pretty good one...I think the fight itself is what is more historic
80,000 at Wembly
The bottom one is a good. That definitely is up there in the UK ranks. Don't think many casuals in the US know of the magnitude of this fight. It was a great series.
I was thinking about this the other day. Although I don't hold a lot of his later career against him, hypothetically where do you think Roy Jones ranks all time if he had retired after Tarver I. On natural talent alone he is top 5 (maybe top 3) ever in my humble opinion.
Would he be in the argument for GOAT.
All time great....
Still is, just a shell of himself...
The UFC just had a PPV this past Saturday, and no one has said **** about it, lol.
2016 will likely end with 6 boxing PPVs: Pacquiao-Bradley III, Alvarez-Khan, Crawford-Postol, Alvarez-Smith, Kovalev-Ward, Pacquiao-Vargas, and maybe Golovkin-Jacobs.
2016 will see the UFC have 13 PPV events: Lawler-Condit, McGregor-Diaz, Jones-OSP, Werdum-Miocic, Rockhold-Bisping II, Tate-Nunes , Lawler-Woodley, Diaz-McGregor II, Miocic-Overeem, Bisping-Henderson II, Alvarez-McGregor, UFC 206, and UFC 207.
Pull the three McGregor fights, and what does UFC's 2016 look like compared to boxing?
Facts........................
I am tired and I fuced up and left Spence off my list. My new list with Spence in it is 1st GGG, 2nd Kovalev, 3rd Gonzalez, 4th Canelo, 5th Rigo 6th Spence 7th Loma, 8th Pacquiao, 9th Ward, 10th Walters, 11th Crawford, 12th Frampton and 13th Santa Cruz.
Respect that....
