So we hit the heavybag and skipping rope, Then lastly we went to sparring. I used my self-taught shoulder roll-philly shell when i was against the ropes and i tried to emulate james toney to a tea!
The guy tried going up stairs on me and i blocked and rolled all those then he took 2 shots to the body and i was down for the count LOL. Man that sucked. Then the trainer told me
"Son i dont want you to ever use that chicken sh1t move, That can get you hurt if you dont use it effectivly"
Man that sucked. The guy is just an ametur fighter and he knocked my ass to the canvas and i outweighed him by 30 lbs.
But he said "Son you got alot of potential, if you get in shape do everything i fkn tell you...maybe,just maybe you get a pro bout one of these days"
So thats a plus!
Enjoyed readiing that. You keep it real. Its all a learning experience, You know what to look out for next time around! Peace brother.
Floyd Mayweather "LIVES" in the freakin gym! That dude is forever in the gym, and I can't stand the dude, cause he won't fight the ones I want him too....but Floyd Mayweather has my respect, he is a gifted athltete.
Maybe not now, but when I was growing up it was Ali/Frazier. Ali took two out of three. I saw two of those fights on ABC Wide World of Sports with Howard Cosell. That was boxing at it's best! 15 rounds and these two gave it all they had!
He's promoting fights on the side. He just ain't that hungry fighter anymore. Regardless....I'd still pay to see him fight, cause Cotto will always give it all he's got.
Mosley's age has nothing to do with why he will lose to Floyd.
Floyd will defeat Shane Mosley on May 1, everybody knows that. But the Shane Mosley that fought Oscar De La Hoya....there's nothing Floyd Mayweather can throw at Mosley to keep him off him for twelve rounds...NOTHING!
I'd prefer to watch Pacquiao/Mayweather. It'd be interesting to see what Margarito can do against an all out assault, but Manny Pacquiao is too fast and can easily out point Margarito. He'd so far ahead since Margarito doesn't start banging till after the 6th round.
The Shane Mosley that fought Oscar De La Hoya would've blasted Mayweather out the ring. A "stick-n-move" Floyd Mayweather wins a UD, Mosley can't hang like he used to.
Happy Birthday Naseem "Prince" Hamed!
Growing up in 80's and 90's, there were some "MUST SEE" boxers....
Mike Tyson, Roy Jones Jr., Naseem Hamed, Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Pernil Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Hector Camacho, Sugar Ray Leonard...
I truely miss seeing Nassem Hamed do his thing!
The hardest hitting Feather Weight I ever seen.
I kinda see it like this....
1) Cotto can beat Yuri Foreman, becomes WBA Light Middle Weight Champ.
2) Sergio Martinez might lose a UD to Kelly Pavlick.
Put it all together....
Promoters "DESPERATELY" need to put Sergio Martinez back on the map after suffering two straight losses. Goes back down to 154.
Miguel Cotto vs Sergio Martinez late 2010
Who has Mosley KOed with his vicious right? And how many has he laid out with the right?
That's easy!!
Wifredo Ruiz only 23-3, never been stopped, Mosley Ko'd him in the 5th.
Eduardo Morales, 23-0, never been stopped, Mosley Ko'd him in the 5th.
Willy Wise, 24-6, never been stopped, Mosley Ko'd him the 3rd.
Adrian Stone, 30-3, never been stopped, Mosley ko'd him the 3rd.
Fernado Vargas...TWICE! By TKO.
Shane Mosley has a wicked over-hand-right! sheer power and quickness, make it a "single" KO punch. Manny Pacquiao, with his southpaw stance, and shots coming from all angles, make him a devasting puncher.
Both have power in both hands, Shane Mosley gets the nod in 'More Power'.
Ricardo Mayorga, needless to say can take a punch. Couldn't deal with Mosley's lead right hand. Margarito....come on, NOBODY whooped that boy like Mosley did!
I agree that Shanes right hand is very powerful. But he can be 'wild' whne throwing that punch, saw in the Cotto fight that he got cauht when being too wild with certain punches. I think overall Pacquiao uses his power more effective than mosley. I think the power for each fighter are very similar, but pacquiao utilises his better.
What makes Manny Pacquiao, like you said "effective", is his Southpaw stance, and that his shots come from different angles, his opponent never see's it's coming!
Shane Mosley is a straight up banger. Does Yuriorkis Gamboa ring a bell??
common opponents.
Pac
Cotto tko in 12 rounds
dela hoya tko in 8 rounds
mosley
cotto lost by decision
dela hoya win by decision
That's a great analisys. You must concider....
De La Hoya was way past his prime, and hadn't fought at 147 in 7 years! Weight drained, and couldn't continue. Easy pickins for Manny Pacquiao.
Miguel Cotto was 'mandated' to weigh in at 145', knowing his stamina wouldn't hold. Pacquiao had to sit and wait for Cotto to get tired.
Mosley fought Cotto at his comfortable weight, De La hoya was a wicked left-hook wrecking ball in his prime!
Tito Trinidad loved to fight people who stood in front of him, Mayorga, Reid, Joppy, Vargas. But was so confused when Winky Wright stiff armed him all nite!
Winky Wright.
There was a famous body builder (Bob Paris) that when I was growing up, had "THE" best "symetrical" physique in the body building world. I bought all his books, adapted his techniques and defined by physique in ways i never imagined.
When he came public with his preference...It didn't change a damn thing! So f*ckin what!!
If you support Mayweather, and later find out he has a preference, so f*ckin what, it ain't like he's gonna hit on you in front of your boys!
There was a great football player, who played for the San Diego Chargers, who later 'came out'....I feel sorry for you If you ever call this dude a f@g!
Floyd Mayweather...So F*ckin What!!!
I don't like the lopez= mayweather...
I don't see it.
There are straight-up bangers......
Mike Tyson, Tommy Morrisonhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif, Julian Jackson, Edwin Valero, Manny Pacquiao, "YURIORKIS GAMBOA", etc.
Then there's the "BOXER" puncher.....
Pernill "Sweet Pea" whitaker, Sugar Ray Leonardhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif, Floyd Mayweather, "JUANMA LOPEZ".
Gamboa...Straight-Up Banger. (Pacquiao)
Lopez......Boxer, Puncher. (Mayweather)
This is what the TS was referring to.
Posted a reply in BSL and it had me thinking when did, Tyson become Iron Mike Tyson and who gave him the name... I also wonder when the Baddest Man on the Planet monacry came. Tyson to me had the best two Nicknames ever!?
The name "Iron Mike" was the name of a famous Paratrooper, LTG. Robert F. Sink, where his statute sits on Armstead Ave, in Ft. Bragg N.C. (we ran that route 3x a week! 3 1/2 miles!)
http://www.bragg.army.mil/History/IronMike/ironmike.htm
Mike Tyson was Introduced as "Iron" Mike Tyson after he beat Bone Crusher Smith for the WBA Heavy Weight belt. The first dude I heard say it was Michael Buffer, when he fought Pinklon Thomas. not sure who gave him the name, but he was called Iron Mike after Cuz Damato died.

Amir Kahn has a chance, ONLY, and I say this will great sincerity, ONLY if he can go the distance. I don't think his stamina has really been tested yet. He's been to the 12th round only twice. He ain't KOing JMM. Like I said, if he doesn't slow down, he can beat JMM to a UD.
Shane Mosley because he hits too hard. Manny Pacquiao for his Southpaw stance, and shots coming from all angles. If Mayweather knows he could lose, he ain't risking a perfect record.
ALL great fighters know what it's like to lose. They challenged thier skills against the best the sport had to offer. Sometimes even two and three times! Floyd Mayweather, though a great athlete, supiorior boxing skills, can not fall into this category. A future hall of famer, without a doubt. But to say you are better than Ali, and Sugar Ray Leonard...even "SUGAR RAY ROBBINSON", you played yourself.
It's ok to sike your self up before a fight and say to your self "can no man beat me", but in the Sport of Boxing the Commitee will rule in favor of Mayweather not being greater than the forementioned.
Even the Great Mohamed Ali said "Sugar Ray Robbinson is the greatest, I am the greatest Heavy Weight"!
Man, I know you guys always getting on Tyson for biting Holyfields ear off, and i'm not saying it was right for him to do so, but man, I understand!
Holyfield kept headbutting Tyson. At one point Tyson looks over at the ref and says, "yo, tell him something". Cries fell on deaf ears...and Tyson bit that MOFO's ear off!!
Again, I ain't saying it was right...but I understand!
