Anyone else feel sorry for Cotto?

Don't really feel sorry for him..... like people have said he knows the risks involved and on top of that he is well compensated. To me he has been overrated, he is solid but since the Corley fight I saw the holes in his game. HBO and overanxious fans built him up to be some sort of a terminator-like human wrecking ball when he wasn't. Then he was to be the one who would beat Mayweather and that Mayweather was ducking him where anyone with sense would know Floyd easily outboxes him. He has got a strong resume but he had quite a few "controversial" decisions at his second home in MSG

He had a perfect career up till marg brutally beat him; arguably with loaded gloves, the beating he took was saddening in my eyes..then in order for a juicy pay day he steps in slightly drained (there's no way he was looking his usual self) n takes a beating from a much greater opponent in PAC..then his pops dies...on top off this u never hear him bitching or moaning about anything n quietly gets on... Ofcourse he's got paid good, but u gotta feel for the guy from what he was to how he is now....yeah/no? Pacquiao is as suspect for cheating as Margarito is. No proves vs any of them, both rumored to have cheated. PEDs or concrete, it's cheating nonetheless. Stop acting like there isn't any clouds over Manny's win, specially after he turned out 100 millions to duck a random blood test. He has no problems with a scheduled one 20 days before the fight though. Cycles, cycles...

Notice that the only times he lost was because he was traning himself, and he was figting elite fighters he couldnt have beat pac even if his fat mate was the ref and he had the best trainer in the world. he just isnt at that level, but then again, who is?!

Iv got alot of respect for Cotto. He fights the best out there (...and Gomez and Jennings aswell !), but hasnt ducked anyone, or made any demands in fights. Just gets on with the job, like fighters of the past. He's gracious in defeat, and never uses any excuses. Most fighters would have never stopped complaining if it was them in the Margarito situation ( and probably rightly so) but Cotto hardly ever brings it up.

How the fuck am I supposed to feel sorry for him? The dude has millions of dollars in the bank from what I understand. That's what will happen when Bob Arum pays you $3 million to fight guys like Michael Jennings, Alfonzo Gomez and Yuri Foreman. A guy like Glen Johnson who made peanuts in his last fight on ESPN and will make peanuts against Tavoris Cloud is someone to feel sorry for after he fights everybody that we want him to fight bar none. And Cotto did for the most part too, but it aint like he didn't get spoiled with big paydays against some ho-hum opponents. One thing Cotto did in his prime was fight three times a year though. I can't sneeze at that even though there are some things I criticize Cotto for. But that is a great sig you have TS.

Nah, that's Boxing for you. He's fought the best, and lost to a known cheat and lost to the #1 fighter int he world. Truthfully, I think he gets too much flack for his losses. Dude is still a problem at 147 IMO.

He's promoting fights on the side. He just ain't that hungry fighter anymore. Regardless....I'd still pay to see him fight, cause Cotto will always give it all he's got.

If Margarito did have loaded gloves, then yeah. Otherwise it's just another story of a boxer who take a couple beatings and couldn't recover from it.
