tyson did sets with 455
tua could do 455
rahman did 500
kelvin davis 400
teddy ried 300
mosley 365
zu 260
darnell wilson 400
marcinalli 270
chris bryd 350
ibeauchi 565
i think it means alot more then people think
Where did you find how much each boxer could bench press? That is very interesting, especially Buchi getting 565, that is amazing.
As for Ruiz, I believe that Ruiz is actually a demon, and that he gets his power from hatred. So the more you hate Ruiz the stronger he becomes. I recorded all the fights from the Don King event that had him and Rahman. I kept all the other fights on tape but recorded Sanford and Son episodes over Ruiz Rahman.
Great now we get to listen to Toney talk more sh1t about how great he is and how Vitali is ducking him. I'll be glad when Toney fights somebody good at heavy so I can see him get knocked out. If Tua ever comes back I'd like to see him and Toney mix it up.
I think Taylor would beat Sturm. Taylor isn't ready to fight Hopkins yet. He needs a few more fights and by the time he gets them Hopkins will be retired. Taylor should be the next dominate middleweight though I hope he is because he is more exciting to watch than Hopkins.
Call up some of your folk to throw in on the ppv. It's alot cheaper that way. It'll probably be the best fight of the year and watching the replay is nowhere near as good as seeing it live. You can try not to watch the sports shows and not go online so it'll be a suprise when you watch the replay but it never works! Trust me!!
You don't have to be Puerto Rican to get pulled into the Tito phenomenon. I used to not like him but every time you see one of his fights the crowd chants his name the whole time, then online everybody says things like "TITO IS BEST BOXER EVER I LOVE YOU TITO!!!11". After a while it got to me and I couldn't help it and I became a fan.
It doesn't matter if Mayorga has never been down before. Vargas had never been down in pro or am career and look what happened to him. Mayorga has never fought anybody as strong as Trinidad. When Tito lands flush (and he will) it'll be over. Why do people keep thinking welterweights can beat middleweights?
They can't, Tito is not a natural middleweight. He lost against a damn good one in B-Hop.
Tito may not be a natural middleweight, but he has had good fights there and has proven his power. Also he's older now and fighters usually get a little bigger with age. This is Mayorgas first fight at middleweight and we have nothing to show that he'll be strong there or be able to take a punch. Between the 2 of them I'd say Tito is alot closer to being a middleweight than Mayorga.
People will be saying that Mayorga was just a blown up welterweight, and that he didn't have any skills anyways. That and we'll all be wishing for Mayorga to make a speedy recovery.
Did anyone see Lewis vs. McCall 2? It was horrible. They took McCall out of rehab for cocaine to train. During the fight at the end of one of the rounds, rather than go back to his corner, McCall walked around the ring crying. He didn't want to fight anymore and his corner sent him out for another round anyways. He wouldn't fight back and Lewis swung on him and still couldn't hurt him. The ref stopped it and Lewis put his arms up like he did something great.
It's the mysterious EA curse... I think what it is is when you reach the point in a sport where you can be put on the front of a video game you're already on top and are established. By the time you reach this point you're bound to fall off sooner or later.
Maybe because Hearns(while it lasted) and Ray did good against the legendary guy on your avatar.
Hearns and Leonard were competitive with Hagler but I'm thinking more recently like Hopkins and DLH.
Joppy got blown away when he fought Trinidad, and he got battered for 12 rounds when he fought Hopkins. His chin is probably pretty shaken up after that. He's on the downside of a pretty good career. Taylor is too young and fast for Joppy. Taylor by TKO.
I was wondering about this fight too. It doesn't need to happen right now. Taylor is still developing as a fighter and is coming along very well. Vargas was young and doing well when they threw him in there with Trinidad. There are too many similarities and I don't want to see another good prospect wasted because he was rushed into big fights too early. I like Taylor and I think he just needs some more time and a few competitive fights before he makes his attempt to take over middleweight.
I can't believe they had the balls to charge money for this. Terrible, just terrible. I think I'll just get blunted, watch Tito/Mayorga and Ibeabuchi/Byrd, and grub out until I fall asleep. It'll be cheaper and alot more entertaining.
Why would anybody want Hopkins on their side in a street fight? A 160 pounder that doesn't even have huge power at that weight. Skill wise and boxing he's great but I'll take Mike Tyson, David Tua, and Ike Ibeabuchi.
Hopkins made a career out of fighting jr. middles, why can't Jermaine use them for practice until he's finished developing his skills?
It's still a little too early to see if Taylor is going to run the middleweights. His chin hasn't been tested yet so we don't know what its made of. After Hopkins is gone I'd like to see Taylor vs. Trinidad to decide who is king of the middleweights. Another thing is supposedly Taylor has trouble making middleweight. Fighters usually get bigger when they get older and he's only 25. Maybe a move to super middle or light heavy in the future.
I'm a big Tyson fan but Tyson nuthuggers are the worst. Tito's come in second. I like Tito as much as anybody but I've been able to realize he lost in 2001, many people haven't. I'm pretty sure EVERYBODY is a hater. If you think about it there has to be somebody that just pisses you off for some stupid reason. For example, I don't like Danny Williams because I'm tired of seeing British heavyweights, and because he beat up Tyson. I HATE John Ruiz because he has literally put me to sleep more than once.
Hopkins advantage at middleweight is that he is bigger and stronger than his opponents. With Tarver he'd be fighting somebody bigger and stronger than him. Hopkins has better defensive skills but Tarver would have height and reach advantage so it would be interesting, but I'd have to go with Tarver. I would hope this fight didn't go to decision because I'd love to see either one of these guys get knocked out. Hopkins is pretty boring and Tarver can be too cautions as he showed the first time against Jones. This fight would probably be boring as hell.
Vitali vs. Wladimir! It would just be tight to see them fight. Hopkins vs. Tarver. See how Hopkins does fighting somebody bigger and stronger than him.
I enjoy tactical boxing as much as anybody else but I watch boxing for entertainment. Hopkins-DLH was pretty dull. Pac-JMM was pretty good but I'm suprised so many people consider it fight of the year. It might just be because I haven't seen the fight since it happened but after the 1st round all I remember is JMM countering Pac. I thought Tito-Mayorga was by far the most entertaining. I was yelling and throwing things all over my living room.
Yup Pac-JMM was a humdinger of a fight. If you get to watch it am sure you'd be doing some good yelling as well... :D
I saw the fight but I didn't record it so I only saw it the one time. The first round was awesome and the rest of it was filled with action but I don't remember it being as good as Tito Mayorga. I probably need to see it again as its been a long while.
I have Ibeabuchi vs. Byrd on dvd and I love to watch it. It great when Buchi knocks him down and Byrd gets up drooling everywhere and acting like it wasn't a knockdown or something. He got mad but he didn't really have an excuse or good reason so he just looked soft.
The fight was frustrating for me to watch. Physically, Judah has everything he needs to beat Spinks, but he just wasn't focused and ended up giving away too many of the early rounds. Spinks got the balance knock down on Judah and then he finally started fighting and put Spinks on his ass in the 12th and hurt him. If Judah had fought the entire fight like he gave a damn I think he could have won.
