The 2004 Fight of the Year

You think it was better than Barrera-Morales III? Hmmmmm now you got me thinking, that was a amazing fight too. I guess the reason why i prefer Tito-Mayorga more is because i have never seen such a couragous effort in a fight in a long time and Mayorga showed he had a heart of a true warrior even in defeat.

Trinidad vs. Mayorga was the fight of the year, constant action for 8 rounds. I watched that the other day and i have to agree. That has definatly been the most exciting amazing fight this year.

This topic should be retired or updated. Fight of the year was Barrera-Morales III. NOthing else comes close.

I agree, Barrera-Morrales has gotta be fight of the year hand down. My second favorite fight was Elders-Burton a few weeks back. That fight was a war and it was violent. 12 brutal rounds of back and forth action with a brutal KO in the end.

So finally, which fight is the FIGHT OF THE YEAR for 2004? The winner of this poll, Pac-JMMarquez? or Barrera-Morales 3 ?

The scoring of the rounds was probably 8-4. I thought 7-5. Each round though was close. Many were hard to score as evidenced by the judges. The action was FURIOUS in each round though. The last 2 rounds when Barrera was clearly completely exhausted were high drama. Everything a FOTY candidate should have.

No way Paq-JMM is winning fight of the year anymore. They'll probably give it to Barrera-Morales, though if they don't then Trinidad-Mayorga will win easily. Paq-JMM was too long ago and was a draw. I know there were knockdowns but Barrera-Morales, IMO, still was the more exciting fight. i am not too sure of that, i have not personally seen the fight MAB-EM 3 but i heard somewhere in this forum that its one sided, is there any truth about this guys??? my guess if its not MAB-EM 3 for FOY it will surely be PAC-JMM, Trinidad fight was to lopsided...
