Folks keep bringing up Kirkland being stopped but he's only been stopped once and it happened to be after a layoff due to a stint in jail. In boxing sh*t happens doesn't mean he's shot though. Kirkland looked like his usual self in his last fight where he ate some heavy punches and kept on pushing. I'd give him a decent chance against anyone long as he has Anne Wolfe in his corner!!!!
Lara's been a full time fighter since he was a kid, at this point in his career I doubt he changes much regardless of who trains him. Not all boxers have what it takes to be considered elite, he's a damn good fighter and has nothing to be ashamed of......
It's not an excuse when it is not on you . I bet my b*lls that the guy that started the thread never touched boxing gloves in his life let alone stepped into a ring.
Probably not but then again this is the internet where you don't have to actually know what you're talking about to be taken seriously.
Even more impressive that Foreman was able to carry that type of serious power when his better days were behind him.......can't help but imagine what he hit like in his prime!
How about James Toney, guy had defense and offense plus he fought competitive bouts past his prime. Towards the end of his career he hardly trained and still gave most guys a run for their money while looking like a tub of goo.
- Bieber comforts Floyd's kids
- Pac brings and old f art to tears
- Insecure Floyd on a red carpet
- Insecure Floyd spends some money on his new escort
Seriously this site was amazing before 2008 but now it's just utter sh1t
The threads have been strange the last couple of days, hopefully things will return back to normal soon.......a person can only take so many TMZ updates, Twitter feuds and homosexual innuendo.
that's just what scumbag bankers (schaeffer) and underground criminal gangsters (al haymon) do.
Schaffer and Haymon are no angels but Oscar isn't exactly a victim either. Maybe he should have been paying more attention to what was actually going on within his company instead of getting high.
No excuse for entering rehab right before the biggest event in GBP history. Oscar should have been there to guide his company through such a prestigious moment. Hell, Arum would have shown up on his death bed!
BTW, what makes you think the bold is true about Haymon?
If you watched the first fight, you would see that Floyd also fought dirty.
True, Mayweather did utilize some dirty tactics himself but Maidana clearly had the edge in cheap shots......at one point Maidana even tried to knee Mayweather. I respect Maidana though he went all out for his shot at the title and at the end of the day if the ref doesn't intervene then why should he change what was working.
Ref.! He's punching me!
Floyd's the dirtiest fighter I've ever seen, pushing, his famous elbow to the neck and asphixiating, but a little slap a bit below the belt and he starts crying like a baby. I hope we dont get a bought ref. this time
It's true Mayweather is a hypocrite but he doesn't hit low very often and no one can dispute the significance of being punched in the balls by someone as heavy handed as Maidana.
Futhermore, Maidana wouldn't have constantly punched Mayweather low if he didn't think it was effective.
Con literally ran in the PEDerson fight
I'll have to go back and watch it to see. When I first saw it htough, I cored the fioght for Khan and didn''t notice him on his bicycle that much.
Miranda fight
I'll have respectfully disagree, Ward boxed and did what he needed to do to take Miranda out of his comfort zone. Guess the term boxing is subjective, I consider it hitting without getting hit while still initiating the action. Ward fits that description in my opinion....
At the top of course: The Rich Coward
Andre Ward
Dennislaundry Lara
Glass Jaw Con
Who else literally runs for the safety of their life in a boxing ring? I'm compiling my list of biggest jokes
Why the hate for Ward and Khan? Ward might spoil a fight but he doesn't run so you must have another reason.
Khan has put on a lot of exciting fights even if he ended up on the losing end, why the hate?
Of course he would, but so would most professional athletes if they felt they wouldn't get caught. Competing just for pride or honor is fan boy BS. Pro's want to get paid for their effort, pain and sacrifice, the more money the better and winning is the only sure fire way to guarantee increased paydays.
If they just wanted to do it for the love of the sport they'd open a gym and teach local youth.....
I used to like mixing regular boxing with thai kicks and knees. Haven't been in a street fght in years though, I stopped street fighting when folks in my community started doing more shooting than actual fighting......... these days I refuse to fight someone unless I'm willing to kill them because that's ultimately what it leads to.
Khan might get off the hook, he's just a chinny featherfist but otherwise gutsy.
Ward stays on!
Which fight has Ward run in? Now if you said team headbutt then you'd be correct but he doesn't fit the profile of a runner.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but I was in a daze after I watched Mike Tyson get beat by Buster Douglas. I was a young kid then and thought he was invincible up until that point.
Honest question, why does Fury get a pass for talking sh*t at opportunity yet Khan gets crucified for every little thing he does? Fury comes across as much more offensive but seems to get more love around here.
The boxing scene from the UK (generally comprised of low class people) don't like indians/pakistani's/arabs. Open your eyes.
Sorry not from the UK, didn't want to assume so I thought I'd ask......
I'm surprised people still interview Mayweather Sr. Listening to him is painful and when he does say something coherent it's usually something proclaiming his own ability or greatness.
Pac proved that he could deal with a good boxer when he beat Bradley in their rematch...the same Bradley that outboxed JMM. Folks should just call it what it is, a low risk stay busy fight for Pac until something better presents itself. I don't have a problem with the fight to be honest, Pac deserves an easy fight every now and again.
Just don't try to convince me that a guy making his debut at welter weight is going to be a threat to one of the world's top two fighters in that division, doesn't make sense! The only concern Pac will have is not wining impressivley.....
Algeiri is pretty much unknonw first fight at welter weight it doesn't make sense to expecty him to be a threat to one of top two WW's in the world in his first fight at that weight.
If you actually believe that thAn you clearly have never boxed before.
There's a huge difference in different kinds of gloves and the kind of impact they make on the target.
And it's not a small difference by any means.
Mayweather is acting like a b*tch by making Maidana wear certain gloves. That said, I've boxed for a while and have never met a power puncher who's ability was dictated soley on the style of gloves he wears. What should matter is the overall weight and comfort.
If Mayweather and Maidana have the same weight gloves and Maidana finds a comfortable pair then he shouldn't have any excuses.....
I found this interview to be worthless. It's just Espinoza defending his company from fans who either don't believe him or aren't happy with him.
Seemed like a decent read, he answered questions to issues fans discuss on this forum all the time. What did you expect from the interview?
If your only other choice is Khan, yeah Floyd is a warrior.
You don't consider Khan a warrior? Khan has his flaws but he always shows heart inside the ring........
Spence has a bad recovery time I believe. In the Lartey fight, he was hit with the FIRST flush head snapping shot at the end of round 7,he went queer street in the last 10 seconds. Then in round 8, he was still buckled and refused to engage with Lartey till the end of the fight. I know that was 2013 but recovery time is genetics.
Lol, sounds like pure bro science.....
Before the GGG fight I gave the Brook the edge. Not so sure now. It'll be pretty hard to overcome the weight issue and injured eye while fending off a hungry contender like Spence.....
Hey sonny try earning a living in the sport for 50 YEARS!
Until then I don't care what you think because you don't KNOW sh*!.
My point was if you KNOW what your looking at you can learn. If you don't you won't! Old School. Modern Day, Current Day!!!
You don't know pronating from picking your nose!
Call me when you train your first state champ.
Ray
Damn, great response.
Unfortunately the rebuttal will probably be along the lines of "I don't need to have actually boxed or trained a fighter......."
