wow... After one of the best 24/7's, the Mayweathers, Ortiz and a pretty strong mexican undercard and just 850k? I'm a Pacfan and expected at least 1.3M. Sucks for boxing overall if true although it may get us closer to Pac/May if they can't get the big ppv numbers facing inferior competition. Gotta wonder what happens if Pac/JMM3 blows May/Ortiz out...If so perhaps Manny is the new Cash Cow. So much for Starpower... perhaps American viewers will only tune in for a mayweather ppv if they believe his opponent has a legit chance to win. Guess this means 60/40 Pac :D
Yeah more than likely... but Maidana would go down as a man...and inflict some damage on the way out. He'd definitely answer Floyd's elbows with his own and wouldn't try to hug, kiss and lay down like Ortiz. I don't think he'd be intimidated by Floyd either.
Agreed, but I think Maidana would get beat down.
This means its Pacquiao vs Bradley after Marquez gets KO'd... Still holding out a glimmer of hope his next opponent is Mayweather, but we all know that aint gonna happen. I'd buy this fight.
What team pacquiao should do
Agree to the testing pre or post fight and if the results come back clean then mayweather pays him $10 million. If he's dirty then he owes mayweather $10 million. I'd be willing to bet team mayweather backs off that wager and their demands.

Pacquiao will be the best pbf has ever faced and vice versa. Hopefully the fight lives up to the hype. I'd be suprised if PBF throws enough punches to keep PAC off of him. Even more suprised if pbf is able to stagger manny at any time.
I see Pacman throwing flurries of punches and Mayweather not being able to dodge or block them all. Manny has shown he can take good shots and he'll probably have to take some coming in. But unlike JMM who looked afraid to let his hands go when he backed PBF into the ropes, then let PBF reset himself in the center of the ring, I think Pac will be relentless in pressuring Floyd and forcing him to trade. Pac's handspeed, power and volume of punches is much better than JMM. Wouldn't suprise me if Roach has Manny punch toward spots where they anticipate PBF to move to rather than aim for his head directly. Even if Pac is outboxed, he's shown the power to change the fight if he catches Floyd with one or two good shots. I see this fight either ending in a TKO for Pac, or a SD for Floyd.
I still think the match should have been postponed abit to have Pacquiao 100%. Not trying to make an excuse, just worried he may come out flat. Dunno why the heck his political career can't be put on hold til his boxing career is over...(I'd love to see bouts against Mayweather, Marquez, Moseley and Williams)
Promotionally, with the short window I think they may not maximize the money that will be generated with this fight. Mebbe they thought it was now or never.
You'd think if Floyd was that confident against Pacman, he'd have no problem with a rematch clause as he could clean up twice.
Team Pacquiao might want a rematch clause in case it took them a defeat by decision to figure out Mayweather how to beat him in a 2nd fight?
if you're confident then you DON'T rematch someone. Why would you rematch someone you destroyed?
If Mayweather wins, I doubt it will be a destruction. I could see him winning a decision though. If Team Mayweather was 100% confident Pacman couldnt beat them, wouldnt they entertain the thought of a rematch if there were big dollars involved again?
I'm a pacfan and think JMM supporters would root for pacman over floyd. Not because they like him better, but if Pac wins, it keeps alive a Pac-JMM 3 and JMM gets a chance to redeem himself on a big stage..He will not get that if Floyd wins.
I remember Roach saying he was hoping for Floyd, Moseley and ending Pac's career against JMM.
I think it wouldnt do that great. Not because Pac isnt as big a draw as Mayweather, but because Moseley looked like a tired, shot fighter from the 3rd round on in his last loss. If Pac had fought Moseley (pre-mayweather) I think it would have easily topped the May/Moseley numbers..
Now Moseley is just viewed as mayweathers leftovers?

Alot of the PacHaters are crapping on this fight...but I'm gonna be amped if this goes through. JMM and Pac hate each other so there will be fireworks filled grudge match for sure while it lasts. Adding fuel to the fire is the additional 10M payday for JMM if he beats Pac, so he has 10M additional reasons to go all out and try to win. War Pacman!
I just don't understand the reasoning behind if Pac beats opponent x (in this case pbf) then he retires instantly. He's finally at the pinnacle of boxing, the main draw. Keep those big money fights rolling in. Pacquiao said himself he has 3 more years and there are a ton of great fights that can be made during that time. Interest in Pac is sparking a revival of boxing. True fans of Boxing should want an atg like Pac to keep fighting as long as he's doing so at a high level.
Post of the year...lmao!! Sr is one funny dude and gotta love the inadvertent props given to Pacquiao! I laughed so hard reading this I may have to buy srs book when it hits the stands. PBF should just come out and publicly acknowledge he wants no piece of the pacman, but he'll fight anyone else and be done with it. I'd at least respect him for being honest with the fans.
If he recovers from surgery...I'd love to see Margs/Cotto 2, Margs/Chavez jr, Margs/Mayweather or Margs/PW 2... mebbe a tuneup before either of these options. There's no shame in losing to Manny especially dishing out the punishment that he did in the middle rounds. Pac's my number 1, but Tony made me a fan after his showing and the 24/7. Hopefully the hydroxycut allegations aren't true.

I'll take a stab:
vs Floyd: 2.6M (I think they missed the boat for this fight. People might be tired of waiting for it)
vs PW: 1.6M (if PW wins and top rank markets the bout like a game of death. I think the novelty of it will draw people in)
vs JMM3: 1.1M
vs Martinez: 850k
vs: Bradley: 1M
Poll added. I thought Tony looked pretty bad ass sporting their gear so I voted yes. I hope he recovers so we can either see margs/cotto 2 or margs/pbf.
As a pacfan I'd like to see Pac-Martinez and think Pac would win.. The pathetic part is if Manny won, Sergio would automatically be labeled an overrated weight drained, past his prime, shot bum by the Pac haters the next day like the rest of Pac's opponents. Manny is in a no win situation...but this fight make sense late 2011 if Sergio continues increasing his name recognition with continued good performances and makes the risk worth the reward.
JMMs ring weight last night was 145. Pacs last was 148. JMM/Pac3 at 147 seems reasonable to me now although I'd have no problem with it being at 144. It's not like MP is going to rehydrate up to 160, JMM and Pac fight at the same weight it appears. All roads lead to Manny Pacquiao, evidenced by every significant boxer from 135-160 wanting to be his next dance partner. See if you can beat Pac at his best, not one that's weight drained like the Pac hatred like to attribute to his recent opponents, then there can be no excuses. Let's get it on, Pac/JMM 3!!
I'd prefer Pac take on Jmm but if it's gonna be SSM mebbe it's somewhat legit.
Sure, he got dominated by Pbf, but mebbe it can be argued Shane's 2nd round bomb before he gassed out sent Floyd back into retirement. Floyd has been irrelevant since that fight, lol.
Ugh.. I'm not totally opposed To Shane but he probably should be the 5th or 6th option... Not the first. SSM is shot. If he isn't then it sure will look like he the appearance he threw the fight against pbf after the 2nd round or else he's rouing again. If this fight does go down, as a pac fan Ill support it but I'm not overly enthused. Had the same feeling towards pac/margs when that was announced but got geeked as it got closer. Mebbe it'll be the same for pac/SSM. I wonder how many times Shane will try to touch gloves aaibst manny if he's getting beatdown, they should implement a compubox stat for glove touches attempted and connected, lol.
Also if the fight does get made (doubtful) it should be 50/50. I wonder now that Pac is achieving ppv popularity whether he'd hang around a couple more years to rake it in. Seems kind of silly to be contemplating retirement just as you're achieving ppv success?
