I have read from Steve Kim's twitter that Floyd-Ortiz made 850k buys?
Even Kevin Iole is waiting for the Official PPV numbers... But was it 1.3M buys?
It's been three weeks.....
Yeah, except Meltzer is just quoting what he read by some guy named Thomas Umstead. Solid source :lol1:
Multichannel News isn't a solid source now? You're reaching too far.

Dave Meltzer has way more inside info than Steve Kim does.

-- Multichannel News reporting Mayweather vs. Ortiz drew in excess of 1 million buys, which speaks to the drawing power of Mayweather, since Victor Ortiz shouldn't have meant much.

Ortiz was a relative no-name to casual fans and he didn't bring the mexican-american crowd like they hoped they would, even with the undercard.
850-900k (if true) are still solid numbers. This helps the Pac fight imo because I think that one side needs to be pushed into it.
you are right he did, but we had two mexicans on the card a legand and a future great
And if you add their best-selling PPV's together, it still doesn't come to half of 850K.
Canelo fought on the undercard of a PPV that did around 200K on the same date last year. Just stop.

Let me make this real simple for you, When Canelo fights, look at how many show up to support him at the event....
Cross compair that when Floyd fought Castillo the first and second time....
Big difference kid, the Latinos in So Cal, in the Southwest really, and in Mexico Love this ****ing kid, I dont expect you to know this because you dont likely live in these areas but its the ****in truth they all talk about him when he has a fight comming up... They all turn out when he fights evidence like I said is in the ticket sales.

Maybe you can tell us when Morales or Canelo ever drew 850,000 ppv numbers.

what indications would that be? fighthype?
Dan Rafael on espn has consistently said that HBO and GBP have indicated to him the # is well over a million
Took Top Rank forever to announce the Pac Mosley numbers and that turned out to be Manny's biggest PPV.
Things take time, especially when people like Schaefer are busy promoting. All indications are it did over 1 million, this is simply a rumor someone started.
What does the Pac/Mosley #'s have to do with the Floyd/Ortiz #'s? Pac isnt the one running around talking about how he's the ppv king/cash cow of boxing. Floyd is. Therefore his #'s are always going to be scrutinized.
Secondly, how is it that they tallied up the 2.4mil buys for Floyd/Oscar faster than they can for Floyd's latest fight with Ortiz?

For all of those in denial, If it did in fact do 1.3mil or better, it would have been announced by now. I doesnt take 3 weeks to count 1.3m ppv buys. Likely scenario is, it did far less and they dont want to reveal that it fell below expectations.

and with Canelo, and Morales on the card, where do you think the majority of that 850 came from:nana:
i doubt canelo and morales amounted to much. after matthysse pulled out, the undercard fell apart for most people i guess. still, people are assuming too much with the numbers.
The fact that it's taken them so long to release the numbers means they must have been disappointing. My guess would be that Americans are starting to get tired of paying $50-$60 for PPVs that only deliver what they promise half of the time. Didn't Pacquiao's last fight do disappointing numbers too?
Not that it matters that much to me, what with my £15 English PPVs, but I hope for you Americans' sake they reduce the price a bit. $60 is extortionate.
