Damn, I hope and pray not.
Also Wednesday, Arum said former world welterweight champion Antonio Margarito will now be examined next week in Los Angeles by a respected eye doctor who will assess if the detached retina Margarito suffered in his November 2010 loss to Pacquiao is career-ending.

It's not smart to play "warrior" to appease other men... It's as if somewhere along in his life, he came to the conclusion that his life was not as important as the rest of the people and decided to lack the character necessary to do what is right and REALIZE it is a "SPORT," and not worth sitting at home like an asswhole with blurred vision. I bet his mindset has changed by now.
I don't buy into the whole "warrior" BS. I find it a bit immature and desperate. I like a good fight, but I also respect self worth. And anyone who is willing "to die in the ring" is either full of shyt, or just :sombrero: dumb.
Agree. There's not anything wrong proving that you can take few hard punches without getting KD or KO, but at some point you have to think about how taking these punishment will effect your health 20 years from now. He's a tough S.O.B without a doubt, but he has to be smarter now if he ever were to fight again.
I'm not unfeeling enough to expect every fighter to be ready to literally die before he'll ever willingly lay down, take a knee or stay on his stool, but I DO have a special respect and admiration for the ones who are, because they have special hearts.
It's not about lack of self-worth; it's the opposite of that.
And it's not a trait exclusive to Mexicans.
Anyway, stop downplaying the size of Tony's balls and enjoy my sig.
LOL @ that guy still pretending that you're not a known pornographer and that he's a battle-tested warrior who knows things you don't. :dunce: :sombrero: :lol1:
End of thread......you couldn't have said it better.

You wouldn't understand because your not a warrior and never boxed. Margariot didn't know his face was broken, he just fought through the pain and didn't want 6-8 weeks of training camp to go to waste.
Margarito is a warrior and there are such things as warriors. See, in your world where you live in a nice air conditioned house with your mommy and she pays all your bills and feeds you, you don't understand or can't grasp the concept of what it means to fight for a living.
Mexicans are tough because they live tough and fight to eat. Boxing is a brutal sport where people DIE each and every year. If you go in with any other attitude other than one where you are willing to die in that ring, then you will never become champ.
Because as much sh1t as you talk, your boy Cotto took a beating at the hands of Marg and Pac and didn't give up, he kept going. Even when he should have quit. The reason he didn't quit is because he's a warrior and has what it takes to be champ.
It's the job of the referee and corner to protect the fighter. Robert Garcia was wrong not to stop it and so was the ref. Marg did everything right, fight until the very end because that's what real boxers and true warriors do.
Hopefully it isn't the end but that's why Margarito should have quit and not fight till the end when U get beat like this big time.
that the downside to being Mexican .. he had too much heart even for his own good.. :mexico2:
BorderPatrol,it's quite well-documented on this forum that I am a true fan of the sport of boxing - only a complete moron would ever dispute that. So,yes,I almost certainly do watch boxing. And,Unlike yourself,I don't discredit or favour fighters based on their nationality.I refer to Margarito as a "true Mexican warrior" because that's exactly what he is - again, only a complete moron would dispute that.
And you're right, this isn't Duran we're talking about here;Margarito would never quit. He'd never wave his hand, turn his back and walk away from a fight that he's being paid millions to participate in.
WSo he's a cheating mexican warrior?
That's great, must make his fans and country proud,,

Damn his eye is jacked.
DO you actually watch boxing or just love Margarito's name?

That's the only way he can win. You must be proud lol.
You really have some nerve dude... This crap coming from a guy that backs Margacheato who is a proven cheat.
Margarito's trainer should have thrown the towel. After the cheating scandal, I lost all the respect I had for him as a sportsman. He ruined Cotto as a fighter. I don't feel sorry for him. Cheating had to bite him in the ass, somehow.
if you go toe to toe with manny and dont backpeddle at all and eat all his shots..guess thatll happen to ya...........
The only one of Pacquiao's last 3 opponents who legitimately tried to win the fight come fight night, and look what happened to him. Maybe the media shouldnt be so critical of these fighters that go into survival mode when their careers are on the table.
I remember Tony's manager claiming that he had surgery on his eye just a week or so before his fight with Mosley. He even said that without surgery,Tony risked suffering a detatched retina in his fight with Mosley. This suggests that Tony had previously suffered a bit of damage to his eye.
I would personally love to see Antonio humble Cotto once again and prove the critics wrong;but,at the same time,I don't want to see him risk further injury just for my or anybody else's entertainment. It's just boxing,at the end of the day.He has a beautiful wife,he has money in the bank, and he has the love of the true boxing fans throughout the world.
And to all the scumbags taking such great delight at the prospect of a trained professional boxers having to retire as the result of a serious injury - you scum ought to be ashamed of yourself. This man has far more courage, far greater testicular fortitude than any of you gutless, yellow cowards could ever dream of having.
Margarito remains the people's champ, and he remains a true Mexican warrior.
dam...even though I think he ruined a fighter I like in Cotto and TRIED to catch my man Shane slippin as well....I still didnt wish no harm on Marg...I knew Manny was gonna put it on him but DAM!!...I am bias towards the fighters I rock with such as B.Hop, Shane, USS, Wlad, Abraham and a few more...but I still RESPECT the other fighters I may not be so fond of....loving the sport made me that way....so I NEVER wish career ending beatings on ANY fighter....even if a dude like Pascal, who I REALLY dislike with a passion these days....says or does some stupid sh!t....I might get amped and say something crazy...but at the end of the day....I dont wanna see no fighter lose their career or life in the ring....hope Marg gets well so Cotto can spank his ass and set the record str8 :lol1:
I bet Marg wish they weren't using 8 oz gloves now!! LOL
Green for the real talk. :boxing:
