you knew it was going to be more smoke than fire.
But that doesn't mean parker (and wilder for that matter) don't have a good point to make.
60/40 or even 50/50 is where there talks should be at.
We are talking about a much bigger pie than what aj usually generates, even with wlad.
We won't be talking about $20 ppv for these fights.
50/50?! Lmao
lol these guys acting like all those who don't do VADA testing are drug cheats..probably the same people that ripped Mayweather for wanting random testing all those years ago
enough of your diversions and deflection, answer the question, why Floyd's name does not appear on the list of VADA tested boxer?
very simple question no need for your blah blahs.
because, USADA
And his d*ckriding fans support it...they want him to "handicap" maidana. No wonder why boxing is on the decline when fans support b*tch moves like this!!!
wow, so you're just gonna act like it's a FACT that Mayweather's being dodgy without any proof? lol sheesh I know you don't like the guy, but at least back your statements with facts
this dude wouldve been murked already if he was from south auckland
Haaaaa!! Ma man!!! Thanks for Repping NZ, not that I condone violence against women.
Yeah but this fool is delusional, he got his a$$ beat from an old man
All I see is Marquez fighting scared and backing up the whole time.
It's not being scared, it's called waiting for an opening and capitalising when they see an opportunity. Marquez got Pac out of his element and won the fight. It's nothing against Pacquiao, everyone has that one person that will always give them hell and let's not forget that JMM is a future HOFer
I dont give a f*** about bs compubox stats, pactards or inconsistent judges.... we all know Marquez won, the arena knew, Pac knew and so did his corner
And yes ive re-watched the fight... JMM was in control from Round 1 to Round 12
Take your headz out of Manny's ass and give JMM the respect he deserves
I'm not scared to say. I thought JMM won by at least two rounds
We're gonna act like Pac didn't DESTROY all of his opponents besides Marquez the past 6 years?
We're gonna act like Pac didn't demolish guys Floyd was scared to fight? (Cotto, Maragarito).
We're gonna act like Pacquiao didn't knock out MAB, crush him again, knock out Morales twice, make De la Hoya and Hatton look like they've never stepped foot in a ring before (and sent them in to retirement), make Cotto and Marg look like rag dolls, knock down and dominate Mosley, etc.?
We're gonna act like Pacquiao has just been cherry picking fighters, hand picking opponents or whatever.. BUT NOT MAYWEATHER?
We're gonna act like the ONE guy, a HOF'er and top P4P fighter currently that's proven to be his kryptonite, and is perfectly suited to neutralize Pac's style arguably beating him means that everything Pacquiao has done means NOTHING?!
Seriously when I came to Boxingscene I was expecting to see intelligent unbiased posts from people that know Boxing, for the most part.
Instead all I see is people with blatant Manny hate even more so then Floyd hate. You guys leaving Pacquiao off top 5, top 10, even top 15 lists now?! Are you ****ing kidding me? You need to never form another opinion pertaining to boxing for that blasphemy. You guys don't realize that you're just as bad if not worse then some of these clueless Pactards.
I know most of you guys used to be Pac fans before this whole thing blew up too. And I can see how annoying it can get watching some of these Pactards spew out some utter nonsense (some guys in the live thread had it 12-0 and 10-2 for Pacquiao?!) here and there but to discredit Pacquiao and everything he's done? C'mon...
And to call out Pacquiao for **** but letting everything for Mayweather slide?
The bias is sickening.
Pacquiao is NOT all hype. He is a great fighter and still one of the best of his generation. I just think he is not top 20 ATG like so many have made him out to be. But def ATG just not as high as top 20 like some say. His resume speaks for itself. At the end of the day Mayweather is the greater fighter and Marquez is his equal
people need to quit acting like Marquez all of a sudden can knock people out..He and Pac have had a the same number of fights and Marquez has a higher KO%..JMM sacrificed speed for power, and it showed in both ways in the fight
That was probably Ortiz' best round, had the feeling he was starting to get more comfortable, but Floyd took all 4 rounds. Ortiz' combos looked flashy, but they just weren't landing. Put the fight on mute and FMJ wins the 4th. Ortiz had no answer for the straight right, thought he would've adjusted after the 2nd but he never did
While I believe that Mayweather is the better fighter and would beat Pacquiao in a fight, I would rank Pac #1 due to his level of activity. Floyd is the best fighter in the world but he just hasn't been active enough to grab that #1 spot (my rankings would be based on a blend on skill and activity)
This fight was ****ing fixed, I'm glad I did not waist my money on this **** anyway. Ortiz was too ****ing nice to everyone in mayweather camp, mother****er you got chocked at the weight in than you also layed on the ground to the count of 10. He could of gotting up if he really wanted too. You could see the way ortiz was smiling at everyone this was a ****ing joke who ever bought this ****ing fight or went to see this fight lost a lot of money. I only want to watch floyd fight either Sergio,Manny or Khan. BOxing is dying because of floyd.......
Wtf are you on about?! Boxing is not dead, and Mayweather is certainly not killing the sport. Just check his ppv buys. The man has grab the attention of the mainstream audience and now Pacquiao is doing the same. Put your hate for his "Money" persona aside and you will see that he and Pac carry boxing atm and it certainly wouldn't be as popular as it is right now if it weren't for them.
Take the same 2 flush shots to the face that Ortiz took and tell me if he took a dive or not
he knocked out a guy with his hands down. i could knock out many guys if they had their hands down. it aint nothing
He was knocking out Ortiz regardless of what happened. It was inevitable, it just happened a little earlier than expected
Stephen A. Smith destroying Skip Bayless.
Stephen A. Smith always destroys Skip Bayless. The only guy capable of putting him in his place and shutting him up. Bayless is an over-glorified troll
no one wanted to see this crappy fight. there was a public outcry for floyd to fight pac not ortiz. pac had to fight someone because floyd was in retirement or did you forget?
No, all I remember is Arum already talking about Pac fighting JMM before the fight with Margarito was even finished. So really he never gave Mayweather a chance
This is a never-ending war with the Pacquiao lovers. I'm a fan of Pac and Mayweather, but the level these "Pactards" are on is unbelievable and takes away from a good site where some people actually want to have a proper discussion and learn more about boxing.
Anyway, I totally agree with Dana White. Cortez did not control that fight well at all, the boxing commission seriously need to reevaluate his ability to ref the big fights. Mayweather played within the rules, not ethical to some but it is legal. Merchant needs to show some respect to fighters and I guarantee they won't be hating on him. Like DW said, the man just had a fight and a tough training camp, the last thing he wants is for someone to just start attacking him straight away. He needs to be professional about his job and not take sides because he hates the other fighter

he took it down right after he posted it
From what I know, Tygart isn't on twitter and the unverified USADA Twitter has said nothing about a positive test
A professional athlete regardless of sport should behave like a professional. Answer the questions. If you dont wanna answer, say no comment.
Unless you think they should worshipped as gods, always praised and have their asses kissed.
So what you're saying is that pro athletes should always be professional, but that rule doesn't apply to the commentators/interviewers. Double standards.
I'm not saying Merchant needs to kiss Floyd's ass. What I'm saying is that he needs to be professional, play both sides of the fence and not make his hate for someone get in the way of doing his job in a professional manner. I guarantee that Merchant would never attack Pac right outta the gate or disrespect him the way he has done with Mayweather on numerous occasions
At the end of the day, the only reason why people are mad is because Ortiz got KTFO. If those two punches failed to knock him out then none of these haters would care because that is the only difference between this incident and what happened between Mayweather and Mosley. Ortiz lacked awareness and got exposed, when you're in the ring you're there to fight not hug repetitively
rude? there was nothing "rude" about what merchant asked. Quit making excuses for floyd being a douchebag and ellerbe egging him on
Cmon let's be real he was being rude to him and he has done so for a very long time. Merchant doesn't get a free pass to be unprofessional just because he's old. He should've given Floyd some credit first instead of being a dickhead straight away. Ellerbe comes across as a little gay sometimes, but you can't criticise him for always having FMJ's back
Anyone who says Floyd had the fight in the bag is clearly a fanboy or only a casual boxing fan. The fight was just heating up. Ortiz was doing a good job. He was starting to connect in the 4th, for all we know, Floyd could have been on his ass in the 5th. Too bad we got robbed of a good fight.
I am a Mayweather fan but I'm just being real, I thought Mayweather was dominating. Ortiz was starting to warm up though but Floyd was in control throughout
