BC hit him w/ a flush shot right before the bell was to ring - the crowd cheers and its hard to hear the bell in the video - before this they were touching up after every round too, so I doubt it was intentional. BC just didnt have the demeanor of someone who would throw a cheap shot once a round was over - plus ref was a little late in getting in there as well

just caught the replay again and it and theres a lot of sly editing to make hatton seem incredible, but it looks like the corner cheering was filmed just as much if not more than ricky was during the session. some people need to look up the definition of slick cause some of u couldnt be anymore wrong. slick is not confined to reflexes and speed - its trickery and slyness - like a BHop reading Trinidad's footwork and movement to dismantle him - or Mayweathers timed check left hook to Hatton. Basically being able to sneak in that punch the other guy doesnt see coming, and shoulder rolling and slipping out out of trouble. slick and skill are not mutually exclusive
Bernard Hopkins is NOT slick. He's probably one of the most technical fighters today. He uses his brain to execute his game plan (pun).

As someone noted earlier, Hopkins is bigger, slicker, and quicker than Hagler. But so was Hearns, and Hearns was all three on much higher levels than Hopkins (maybe not the slick part), and Hagler overcame that..

obv, but Hearns squared up and brawled - haglers kind of fight - not utilizing his speed, slickness, size and reach advantage. straying from the gameplan and not executing it is something that Hopkins wont do - so the "if A beat B, then A has to beat C" way of thinking is moot.

Maybe its just me. But I noticed when Cotto got Pac on the ropes his punches seemed very weak.
Why?
he was afraid Manny was setting a trap - its obvious he hurt Manny in the fight, look at his face as well as the ruptured right ear from his left hooks. He didnt want to commit to anything while Manny was on the ropes and leave himself open.
at 1:29 of the 4th round Manny makes Cotto miss w/ a jab very badly and makes him pay for his mistake - He sidesteps him and fires off 4-5 punch combinations while Cotto is off balance

what i heard is this:
couple weeks ago pacman had a new baby daughter, and what he did is basically leave everything to his camp and people while he and his family are spending some time with the baby. rumor was he didnt want to be bothered at all by any boxing/business decisions. would explain freddies phone calls not being returned. rumor is pacman has not one clue about whats going on right now, and is currently (and deservedly so) relaxing with his family
