they've ays excelled in the smaller weight classes, now more and more are moving up in weight and making a splash... they've always been in the bigger weights, just more and more are being noticed at the upper levels of those divisions.

You could tell it was just pitter-patter stuff tonight, a far cry from the days he was banging harder than heavyweights. In his early career he looked like a really big lad, strong. Now, he just looks weak and skinny, and his punching is getting sloppier with each fight that passes.

my take on how boxing works is this, what ever is the logical match up the powers that be go the other way. until they get max dollar for what they want.
promoters are like lawyers they ruin everything.
it's like if you want to make a certain fight you have to become a promoter yourself because it seems like the only fights that are being made are the fights that the promoters want, not what is the right fight or the fight that the fans want.

LOL. Damn Nate, see what you do, made me watch the fight again, what a fight it was! Torres was dropped 4 times, Cotto was pushed down once and twice on qweer st. The only way Torres can beat Mike is if Mike trades with him, Torres doesn't know how to come at you and then turn it on, he waits for you to trade with him, usually gives you one or two free shots before he punches. Mike's faster than Cotto plus is a south paw, unless Mike does the same mistake Cotto did through out the fight of trading with Torres, Mike should win UD, maybe stoppage.
yep, i just watched the fight too again, and I must say Torres looked good but Cotto gave him exactly what he needed to be successful in the moments that he was successful.
i'm hyped about this fight.

i think that the pac fight will draw more folks. with the mexican verses the philippino the two together have a fan base bigger than MMA altogether. country verses country means a lot more viewers. and these two have a massive fanbase in the USA too.
nothing against MMA but heads up against Pac-Morales 3, Pac-Morales 3 wins easily in the numbers game.
i like the match up and i think that it would be an exciting fight, but i think Manfredo would beat Green. i think Manfredo is the more polished fighter and i think that he has better experience under his belt. plus Manfredo has gotten better with each fight since his last loss, i think roach is doing a great job with Manfredo.
Green is good but there have been times in recent fights that he looked vunerable and not ready to step it up. he almost got wiped out by his sparring partner on national TV and emmett linton made him look amateurish. i think that it would be a nail biting fight but overall i have to side with Manfredo in this match up.
it's a pickem fight, it could really go either way it just depends who is ready mentally and physically.............. but after their last two performances i'm leaning towards Manfredo........
if he does move up to welterweight again, which is only a matter of time, but when he does Hatton might want to look into getting back with Warren. it seems that Warren has a tremendous skill at hand picking opponents for his fighters. it's like he finds guys that are either on their way out of the game or guys that aren't ready for that level of fighting, hence the great record.
i know there are some good opponents Hatton's fought, but the bulk of his record is fattened up by guys that he could beat anyday of the week.
i'm not hating, just stating...................fact.
i like Hatton and i hope he does well but it's going to be tough for him fighting at any weight over 140lb. he'll be competitive to the fullest but he isnt going to have the power that he had at 140................
american-euro-south american-african-latin fighters, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference where you're from. all fighters want to fight in the USA, it's the big stage. there are some exceptions to the rule but overall and generally speaking, the States is where the most money is made and the most exposure is achieved.

why not unify the belts before moving up and make it an Undisputed Title fight, other than that it's only going to be a special attraction at 175. still a good fight but there is nothing really on the line to make it a high stakes fight.
