I knew he would lose.
Look at my bets.
yeah you seemed pretty certain.
I've been too busy to pay attention to any hype for the fight, but i had this down as cottos first defeat a while back.
I can't believe people are being so disrespectful to so many fighters. Some of the pictrues posted here are of fighters who fought their hearts out til the end, yet the got "owned".
And to whoever posted the "Ali owned for Life" pictures, go fuck yourself. What kind of an ignorant little teeny-bopper are you? Do you think you are fucking cool posting that shit? "Wow, I'm posting a pic that sayss Ali got owned". Or maybe you're not doing it to be cool, maybe you're doing it because you know for a fact you could never even dream of accomplishing 1/100th of what he did, nor become as loved by one person, let alone the WHOLE world as he was. Deep down you've already accepted that you are inferior to someone like him, even in his current unfortunate state, 100% of the world would rather have a 64 year old Ali than 20 of you.
get a life.
good points, agreed the champ makes the title, not the belt.
WBU and IBO are TOTAL jokes surely?
there appears to be no solid arguement to disrespect the WBO, but WBC make the prettiest belts so there my favourite.
your kidding!
i only bought the setanta freeview box because it said they were showing the malignaggi fight.
it didnt say anywhere that there 'freeview' service was limited.
is that a fact then? total shutdown in the early hours?
i checked there website and the box packaging and there was no mention of a limited service.
this is bullshit. setanta are crap.
well thanks anyway.
i'll call them tomorrow and give them an earfull, and then hopefully take the box back because its useless to me, but i think i may have lost the receipt seeing as it isnt in my pocket now.
well heres what went down,
i cant return my box to currys because i opened the security seal.
setanta basically say its for me to sort out with them and has nothing to do with mis-advertising. so i have a 50 quid freeview box i dont need.
great.
man what a complete piss take.
it doesnt say anywhere that its limited, on no advertisements, not in the box, and not when your handing over your bank details to activate it.
if you think merchant knows nothing about boxing, then you know nothing about anything.
Merchant is to the point, which is his appeal and what makes him stand out above the rest. He knows the sport perfectly, and i'd rather see someone tell it the way it is, even if it means disagreeing with people, rather than just brown nosing important names.
The difference between a top p4per and other fighters that they are consistant with there performance.
some fighter may look bad in one day and look good in another day example like Zab Judah. But for a person like Mayweather he trains himself to look good in everyfight
calzaghe has been a top p4p for some time, and his performances have been in no way consistent.
That's definitely a Frank Warren strategy. Kind of like what he did with Joey Cal. Let's hope that doesn't happen then Khan will always be questioned on how good he is and then when he finally goes for the big fights we will either find out he's a great champ like Joe C. or basically somebody Warren was using to make big money.
yeah franks token approach to career building is bullsh*t.
but somehow he seems to pull it off, 35,000 people travelled for manfredo vs calzaghe. that strikes me as ridiculous for a complete, totally predictable mismatch.
i think its a total waste of time people even mentioning amir in the same sentence as fighters as great as pac, diaz and katsidis, because its never going to happen.
realy what makes it so bad? i would defo consider going never been to the millenium stadiun tho
it is pretty shit, theres plenty of bad views to be had in there, i've been twice for boxing, the first time i paid 170 (good old warren prices) for a naff view in a freezing cold stadium.
The O2 is a much better venue from a spectator perspective.
no one knows its at the millenium stadium, but its well likely to be there with Warren promoting and enzo fighting.
I still think theres a chance it could be held in london, but its slim.
Haye wins this.
Just a change from the customery Frank Warren bashing that goes on here. Warren didn't do too badly with Naseem Hamed during the period Hamed was with Sports Network. So, I very much doubt Warren will be protecting Khan with meaningless defences if Khan gets the WBO belt.
warren didnt do that great with hamed, hamed ditched him in the end.
i know warren gets a lot of stick here, but he does like to stick to his wbo/meaningless defenses formula with his big names.
i reckon he could get wbo in the year. And all the tabloid reading know-nothings will think he's the bees knees.
He will probably take thaxton out, but only becasue he's past his prime.
it seems to me that if you think calzaghe is over rated in the slightest then you don't know anything about boxing.
forget the reid incident, just watch the man fight. you can't knock him, maybe he stayed in the uk too long, but america isn't the be all and end all that the americans on here seem to think it is.
First and foremost Amir khan is a british money making machine. The olympic exposure alone made him a household name, so there's no way moneybags Warren is gonna piss away the potential by allowing Katsidis to put him in a coma.
Khan needs to demonsrate the ablity to fight like a professional under pressure rather than just fighting for the win, cos at the highest level sloppy errors will be exposed even when it looks like he's heavily on top.
so the real question is will khan go elsewhere if he doesn't get what he says he wants, he knows as well as the rest of us ibo/wbu dont mean shit. And with his personality of a peanut he's not exactly going to be peoples champ.
