Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton will get together again next year in a Manchester - re-match - at a sportsman's dinner!
The world's best pound-for-pound fighter, Mayweather, is determined to come back to Britain and this time he wants to be remembered as a good guy.
In September, Hatton and Mayweather held promotional press conferences in London and Manchester but the American was booed and jeered every time he opened his mouth.
Last weekend Mayweather silenced all of his doubters in the boxing business, and all of Hatton's fans, when he stopped the Manchester idol in 10 rounds.
In the fight's emotional wake Mayweather stunned over 100 British journalists, Hatton and the boxer's family by declaring his admiration and love for the 29,000 travelling fans.
He said: "Even at the end I could still hear the band playing and that is the type of support I would love.
"I forgive everyone for the abuse I received and I know now that it is just the British way.
"At the end I could feel the respect of the crowd and I enjoyed it."
The plan is now for Mayweather to visit Britain next year and undertake two or three special dinners and do some promotional work.
On Wednesday in Las Vegas, Hatton and Mayweather were due to get together at the American's five million dollar mansion but Mayweather overslept after a long night on the tiles and the meeting fell through.
Hatton said: "I've seen Floyd in a different light and he just seemed to change after the fight.
"I've heard he's planning to come to Britain and I would definitely hook up with him again.
"It's no secret I want a re-match and perhaps we can sit down and talk about it."
There was a shift in attitude towards the flamboyant and often outspoken Mayweather in the hours after his fists ruined Hatton's dream.
He said: "Ricky never let any of his fans down and that is the type of fighter I am.
"I want to come to England and get a bit of that myself.
"I know that Ricky and his family will look after me when I get there - and I am convinced that the British boxing public will welcome me."

I went with my heart when I thought Ricky would win and got into the pantomime of "Hating" Mayweather.
But after Floyd spanked Ricky I must admit I had to accept that Motherfucker was the real deal.
I have nothing but respect for Floyd and hope I get chance to be at one of these dinners.
Me too.......

Floyd doesn't drink.
Just another typical BULLSHIT story from a british newspaper. A load of fucking scum the lot of them
i'd go to this.
mayweather is clearly not the prick he acts like, i think he's a pretty funny feller.
he's an average boxer though....
average boxer :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:
Floyd really does seem lika a generally nice person when he's not selling tickets
yeah thats really it... when its fight time... hes not gonna be nice, hes a fighter and he wants that edge.... but after the competition is done theres no need to act like that... and he doesnt
Another brilliant move by Floyd to avoid fighting Cotto. Go to Manchester and eat dinner with Hatton.
He will return to the States looking like Biggie Smalls
who the hell wants to go visit this. Mayweather is a loser

he was probably thanking the UK public for their PPV donations
rofl. anyway, good move by Mayweather. I almost certain that at this point of his career, he can be a good guy and STILL sell tickets.
Screw the swanky dinner party's Floyd and give us a damn fight to watch, if most of his smug fans on this forum are anything to go by, he should be Castle-Hunting :D
He did get a applause as walked from the ring after the fight, even went and kissed a UK flag that a person in the crowd had hanging over the stand lol.
I dont think any1 hates Mayweather the reason people booed him was because the whole thing was a pantomime with a good guy and bad guy.
not sure id want to have dinner with someone who knocked me out though.
