In the People newspaper today Amir says that he wants to fight Thaxton after Kristjansen and then the europiean champion and then fight for a world title. Do you think he will be ready then?
regardless he needs to be taken up slowly, Hamed was taken up too fast and that PART of the reason he lost to Barrera and the fact that Barrera was leagues above him. Khan has gaping holes in his defense he should go to Freddie Roaches gym, spar with some top guys and possibly get a Mayweather to train him to sharpen up his defense. He rich enough, a Millionaire by 21 so money should be no object.
Agree.
Hamed refused to train properly after he left Ingle and wasted the natural talent he had.
so the real question is will khan go elsewhere if he doesn't get what he says he wants, he knows as well as the rest of us ibo/wbu dont mean shit. And with his personality of a peanut he's not exactly going to be peoples champ.

First and foremost Amir khan is a british money making machine. The olympic exposure alone made him a household name, so there's no way moneybags Warren is gonna piss away the potential by allowing Katsidis to put him in a coma.
Khan needs to demonsrate the ablity to fight like a professional under pressure rather than just fighting for the win, cos at the highest level sloppy errors will be exposed even when it looks like he's heavily on top.

Everybody is saying Khan and the WBO belt.
Remeber Katsidis has a granite chin and hits harder than anyone in the lightweight division. I don't see Khan coming out of a fight with Katsidis alive, I really don't!!!!
I was worried that Earl might be a tough fight for Khan but he proved me wrong, although i did beleive Khan would beat earl. I would worry with Khan going in with Katsidis but we saw Kat be hurt by earl so yoiu never know.
Khan might be wise to steer clear for a while, but knowing Khan, he will want Katsidis as his next opponent.
I think khan is a bit more special than your tipical british young talent though. Khan would beat Katsidis further down the line, and even now it would competitive

warren didnt do that great with hamed, hamed ditched him in the end.
i know warren gets a lot of stick here, but he does like to stick to his wbo/meaningless defenses formula with his big names.
i dont think warren will even take the wbo route with khan, if khan is that adamant he wants to be a world champ by end 2008 hes looking at ibo/wbu. divad, you should check kevin mitchell out if your not sure, he is a more well rounded fighter than amir and has definitely settled into the pro's better, physically quite a bit smaller than khan at this stage though
Just a change from the customery Frank Warren bashing that goes on here. Warren didn't do too badly with Naseem Hamed during the period Hamed was with Sports Network. So, I very much doubt Warren will be protecting Khan with meaningless defences if Khan gets the WBO belt.

it would be too soon. he should wait atleast 2 years and avoid the diaz's for now. he should fight the bottom half of the top 10 lightweights(peterson, raheem, romanov, campbell, santa cruz) for now and if he beats them than he is ready without any excuses. I think he has the skill set to dominate that division.
I think khan is rushing a bit but i think the earl fight was stopped a bit early. He needed earl to be a toughter test as it will help him in the future. If earl weathered the storm like he did katsidis it might have worried khan a bit and then we would see other bits of khans character being revealed
