This is the problem with internet forums. All this kids with all the time in the world but no freaking idea what they are talking about and still wanna be taken serious.
They would actually be half believable if there wasn't so much hating mixed in with their posts.
The point is the fight still on, and everyone will still watch it, but if you feel like Castillo cheated by not making weight, then don't watch it. Go watch a Harry Potter movie or something. Let the true boxing fans enjoy a true boxing war. Fights like this is the only reason boxing is still alive.
Margarito can't get a break, nobody wants to fight him. Say whatever you say people but Margarito is no Gatti, he will actually give Mayweather a brawl like Gatti was supposed to do.
Castillo already beat Mayweather with that style even tho Floyd got the W.
There was a boxer in the 90's who people used to say was the fastest, most accurate puncher, best defender slickest P4P best of all time until he got exposed due to the fact that he fought a bunch of nobodies for a long time...I can't remember his name right now...but I think he fought recently...maybe history is repeating itself in boxing too.
Hey "Top Knowledge". I will not undermine KT's career because he was a true champ, but the only reason you are getting into this arguments is because your boy beat him. And we can all see that plain and simple.
Now Castillo is knocking at the door and your boy will sooner or later have to open it if he wants some real respect from American fans, but if he wants to just fight the Maussas of the sport and be happy with his european fan base thats cool too, he gets all my respect, just don't compare him to somebody that has been fighting the best in his division (and beating them) thruout his career.
Again I'm not comparing KT's career, his place in the HOF is secured, but Hatton's is not and if you think that a win over KT will get him there, you better change your nickname to "half ass knowledge" or something like that.
Infact, is there a realistic fight Castilla, past or present, wasnt the favorite? Cotto is known for boxing, countering, swelling, cutting, and knocking out other people, all of which is Castillas nightmare...add another TKO loss to Castillas record! :D
Fool quit lying. I checked and Vinny Castilla is not boxing, he's still playing baseball for the Nationals.
You have 0 credibility...
Chico knocks out bot Chavez and Diaz. However id like to see him against Julio Diaz or Juan lazanno that would certainly be an interesting matchups.
Completely agree...
Cool...The Lazcano-Castillo fight was a freakin war. It would be nice to see Lazcano come back strong and start calling out big names.
I'll be looking for Vicente Escobedo too, so far his career is on the right track.
I have a lot of respect for Julio Diaz because he stepped up and fought JL Castillo instead of cruising along for a couple of years fighting nobodies, trying to protect his career.
He's a real warrior and we should see him in the comeback trail pretty soon...
Oh you forgot a few more... Mexican't read, Mexican't write, Mexican't do the crime right.
It's funny when people resort to racism whenever their boxing knowledge is completely obliterated.
You know people fear you when everybody avoids even talking about you. Unfortunately for Margarito fear does not equal money.
A lot of hate for Margarito here. I didn't know he was that good. However a lot of people here are just hating him because he's yet another Mexican warrior and for some reason that does not go well with some fans - (Pac fans * cough, cough, some Judah fans* cough*cough, Mayweather fans *cough*cough...)
One thing I gotta say is that soon enough people will start running out of excuses, and then what?...I can't wait to find out. :boxing:
It's the other way around, you only see it the mexican't way. Anyhow I'll give Margarita his props he's the king of ESPN2 and FSN fights. What is he gonna bring to the table besides his natural size that Mayweather hasn't seen in Castillo and Corrales? There's nothing that really impresses me about Margarita, if he truly wants to prove himself to the hardcore fans he needs to get it on w/ the likes of Ouma and Wright.
You're right. I only see Mexican't back down, Mexican't quit, Mexican't show fear, Mexican't get a damn fight...
The fact that you think Floyd is gonna get the crap beaten out of him by some guy named Maragarita doesn't say much about your boxing knowledge. All you can say is Margarita is gonna beat Mayweather, HOW? Can your girl even get pass Spinks?
Your words not mine buddy...The only facts that I have mentioned here is that nobody wants to fight Margarito and the fact that fans like you don't give him a chance.
I feel like he's got a good chance to beat Mayweather and viceversa, and I want to see this fight happen in the future.
It's obvious that you're only a kid (15 tops) by the way you try to effeminate his name and question my knowledge for rooting for a guy with a "funny" sounding name  What a moron. Leave the discussion to the real boxing fans and go have a :bottle:
Just exactly what is so impressive about Margarita? The only advantage he has over Mayweather and Zab is size, the guy is gonna get smoked just like the other "warrior" Morales(lol)
Thanks for supporting my "too many haters" post...
Hatton is way better technically, better angles, footwork, workrate, everything. Tony is open to A LOT of shots, has shitty defense, good power, strong and tough but that won't be enough. Lost to freakin' Santos and you say he can beat Zoo?
CORRECTION...Margarito beat Santos...yes Santos got the hometown decision, but that's another story. If it wasn't for the cut, Santos would have only lasted one more round tops...Have you actually watched the fight????
I've said even before the Hatton fight that Margarito can take Tzu out. If people would stop ducking him and actually fight him you could see my point. Until then keep thinking whatever you want, but I would put all my money on Margarito VS Tzu or Hatton any fkin' day.
I dont mind seeing Castillo-Lazcano 2, Lazcano has said he would fight JL again!! This is his chance to. Lazcano has not fought any decent competition since Castillo! he is well rested! :D :boxing:
Lazcano should stay away from this fight right now. Even though he is well rested, he cannot afford to take on Castillo with such short notice and then go thru hell again, ending up with the same outcome or probably something much worse (like getting laid out within five)...Than would just be career suicide in my opinion.
I agree 100%, their is allways a problem. Mexicans cant seem to deal with defeat like everyone esle.
I agree completely.
For some reason Mexicans don't know how to take their defeats.
I mean, they always come back. Their ridiculous pride drives them to train harder and come back stronger to avenge those defeats.
I mean...don't they know that it's just better to announce their retirement everytime they lose.
Oh well! I guess they'll never learn, it's like they got too much heart or something. Fools...
No way Chavez is overated.
Yes he went downhill pretty quick (even though still able to hold his own) but in his prime he was the best.
No way Whitaker could have beaten a prime Chavez and yes he lost that ugly ass fight against him but by that time Chavez was not taking boxing seriously anymore.
Whitaker was a masterful tactician, but his run and duck style was so freaking boring. Also let me point out that he got a gift when he fought Maromero Paez and Paez didn't even take him seriously (of course he didn't take anybody seriously).
The only thing that bothered a lot of people, Mexican mainly was that Chavez started acting like an ass after the Whitaker and Randall fights but who knows what was in the guys mind. He seems ok now, so hopefuly he took care of his inner demons.
Besides the mouthpiece incident Corrales came out of this fight looking like a true warrior, but like I said before, if he doesn't give Castillo a rematch he'll look like a str8 up biatch.
I like Margarito also. How would you match him againts tszu?
That is a fight I would certainly watch.
I like Margarito fighting Tszyu because I think Margaritos attack would eventually break Kosta down. Tsyu is getting old and I don't think he would be able to take the constant pressure that Margarito brings to all his fights.
Margaritos formidable chin would be able to take Tszyu's stuff as long as he doesn't get caught with a really powerful punch.
The bigger Santos was about a round or two from hitting the canvas and the decision was robbery all the way.
I see Margarito breaking down Tszyu in a Corrales-Castillo type war and KO within 10 rds.
LOL!! A clinic is what Pete Whitaker gave Chavez in the Alamodome? Even if they fought a few years earlier..Whitaker may have even won by a wider margin. What would JCC done differently. Pete would have still popped the shit out of him , slipped his jabs and crosses, angled the shit out of Chavez and frustrated him
Right! You go ahead and think that. Mexicans love being the underdog any fking way, just ask Tony Margarito.
He should definetly take the money and give Castillo the rematch, the problem is I don't think he will.
After watching the fight again you could tell that Chico was breaking down and wanted to quit after the first mouth-piece spitting incident (and yes people he did spit that shit out) on the 8th rd I believe.
After the second knockdown the ref should have stopped the fight seeing that Chico took his mouthpiece out and was badly hurt.
Castillo's stoppage was a little bit rushed watching it in real time, watching in slow motion will of course make it look like he was gone for about 10 seconds.
There's no denying Chicos heart and win though, but if he doesnt give Castillo the rematch he will definetly look like a lil biatch.
Whitaker wasnt exactly in his prime either when he fought Chavez.. You can spin it either way you want but a prime Chavez wins 2 to 3 rounds against a prime Whitaker at best!
Ok, time to put the pipe down buddy...
Hey dude nice insult!! If you think Chavez would beat Whitaker in their' respective primes you are beyond help!! Don't disrespect a legend by hugging his nuts, he doesnt need that.. His record speaks for itself. He just didnt have the style to beat Sweet Pea.no shame in that!
No insult intended man, but to say the he would only win 2 to 3 rounds is just plain dumb and to be honest I didn't even like Chavez that much nearing the end of his career but a prime Chavez fight was like a complete clinic on how to break down any opponent.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
I would have to go with DeLaHoya minus the take-a-dive-and-do-some-bad-acting bitch move.
Actually, I would take Margarito over anybody right about now...too bad nobody wants to fight him.
