Cotto definetly has the heart to go hard 12 rounds. He proved that when he fought Abdullauev for 10 (or was it 8?). Cotto is prone to finishing his opponents around the 6th round but he can't do that to Castillo. Castillo is untested at 140. He's never took a Cotto-like punch so I'm not sure how Castillo would react. A green Cotto would lose to Castillo, but an experienced one in my humble opinion would beat him.
Its funny how people keep bringing up that castillo cheated but then again they pick him on the rematch!! Why? because they know castillo is going to knock his ass out again just like he would KO cotto because I dont think cotto has the heart to go to war for 12 straight rounds like my boy castillo.
If Cotto gives Castillo the distance He will be tasting the canvas.
Cotto would need to take a page out of the Barrera - Morales 3, Corrales - Castillo 1, Rosario vs Chavez, book and be in Castillo face all fight to avoid getting hit by Castillo's punches at full force which could send him into the canvas.
I agree that u cant count Cotto out. He is young, he is brave, and fearless. Which is good because he would need it to execute the correct plan which is inside fighting going forward the whole fight.
if castillo was a better fighter than why did he lost the first fight??
he got beat
the second fight, chico got beat
as far is the "cheating" is concerned, theyre even
id like to see a rematch, but id favor castillo
the fight would have been different had castillo not had three extra pounds of muscle
in regards to cotto,
castillo is the superior boxer with the superior chin
he dominates
Well like Castillo said,He got to train a whole lot more for the remtach and it showed. Castillo dominated,Yeah maybe he would have not knockedout Corrales early but Castillo would have won either way.
What are you talking about cheating. Corrales side agreed to that 2nd weigh-in.Watch the rematch again.Castillo is just a way better fighter then Corrales and he proved it.Castillo was landing left and right hooks like crazy and landing double uppercuts on Chico. Castillo had an answer for everything Corrales gave to him.Corrales couldnt even land the kind of stuff he did in the first fight. How could the weight make a huge difference? So your saying that if Castillo made weight on the first day of weigh-in,he would of not been able to land the way he did? Man,a rematch at 135 would be the same because its safe to say that Castillo mastered Corrales,Castillo was even whooping Corrales from the outside, man what does that tell you.Oh and I like Cotto but I dont think he stands a chance.

he cheated. Lots of articles have been made bou tis and I've seen close to no one WHO AGREES WIT YER little 3 lbs crap. It was cheating and fo those who disagrees are castillo nuthuggaz AT BEST! I mean, I'm not ta biggest Corrales fan, but I know what I know and I tell how it is. Maybe you gotta let go of em nuts fo a lil bit. LOL!
You got it wrong, simple friend. I was simply comparing the severity of both Corrales' AND Castillo's cheating in the first(Corrales) and second(Castillo) fights.
Castillo is a proven warrior againts the best in his division, Cotto is still a question mark I like Cotto alot but Castillo would beat him possibly KO him in my opinion, But it will still be a great fight I think Cotto could out box him for the most part but if Castillo hurts him, forgetaboutit..

Cotto wont slug it out against JLC, he would use his SUPERIOR boxing skills to get the decision...Cotto by D.
SUPERIOR?
mayweather had trouble boxing castillo...
I ll say it again: floyd mayweather jr
castillo's boxing skills are very underrated, his inside fighting is quite sweet, not like jcc but in that style.

jlc is a far better boxer than cotto
cotto trades-he loses
cotto boxes-he loses
They Both Have Something In Common
They Have The Weight Problem..
But I Think Cotto Will Get This Win
It Will Be Cool To See Them Fight
But Cotto Needs More Tactics To Win This Fight
The times Torres hurt Cotto he got him right on the chin.
Right now I got to say Castillo by stoppage. Cotto's reckless style as of late will get him hurt badly against Castillo.
I agree with this as of right now.
Cotto will be more successful at higher weights or when his style matures and he stops electing to mindlessly trade.
Cotto's chin is not weak at all, he just got hit in the temple by Corley and Torres, any fighter that gets hit in the temple will be rocked. Bailey hit harder than both of them and caught him with some flush RH and Cotto didn't even flinch. I'm not saying Castillo can't beat him but it's not the huge one sided advantage many people give to JLC, its 50-50.

Weighing 3 pounds too much (and ruining the chance at regaining his title and taking Corrales') is about as bad as what?
This maybe? Being 3 pounds overweight, or making a gesture that suggests you no longer wish to fight by doing this----->

I think Cotto would win, but Castillo is really fuckin tough, so it's 50-50. I mean fo alls we know, Castillo himself might be a natural 147lbs fighta. But I would like to see Cotto whomper Castillo's ass into tiny bits of pieces cuz that fat ass loser cheated Corrales on weights. Goddamn, comin 138lbs when ta weigh in was 135lbs. Jest no good!

If Chop Chop and that guy that he fought on the Wlad/Peter undercard can rock Cotto, Castillo could likely decapitate him. However, Cotto is still learning, and is destined for stardom, IMO.
