no that's not where he gets his power
they say power like that is either something you have or something you dont have no matter what training you do.
hmmmm...ive always wondered about that
but who is "they"?
it seems there are many theories but no one knows for sure
i mean that shit is just crazy....
most boxers dont do that...maybe everyone should take heed and give it a try....i especially think taylor should work on his strength cuz he seems a lot less stronger than he did before
I train like that, Wladimir Klitschko trains like that, most of the soviet boxing school trains like that. Need anymore?
This is a classic way to train for physical strength.
nah i dont need anymore cuz like i implied its rare that boxers train like that
the fact that its "classic" leads me to believe that only a minority still train like that....i think a lot more should implement it into their training program
it has to do wonders for stamina too
I am a Pavlik fan but I am now hoping Taylor wins just so we dont have to hear the 5000 new reasons he didnt win the 2nd fight.
if he loses this fight the only reason you'll hear from me is that kelly is the better man
when taylor wins this fight you'll hear from me...I TOLD YOU SO!!!! lol
“It’s not just the amount of sparring, it’s the type of sparring you get,” Nelson said. “We’re working on angles, moving, slipping, just the whole package of work instead of just standing there being a boxer. There’s a lot of things we’re doing in this camp to make the rounds a lot better.” While there appears to be no doubt that Taylor is working hard this training camp, you won’t hear him admit it. He said he’s not going to make the mistake of being complacent again.
“I’ve said that in the past, ‘Aw, I’m training hard. I’m running every day,’” Taylor said. “I was lying. I knew I should have been doing a lot more than I was doing. And now look at me. But that wake-up call was good for me. I’m back to what got me there. Running every day. Doing 13, 14 rounds in the gym. Hard work every day. I’m back to loving boxing again.” Most important for Taylor, it’s back to the basics that made him fall in love with boxing in the first place.
Johnny Tocco’s gym looks a whole lot more like Nelson’s ABC Boxing Club on Eighth Street in downtown Little Rock than a gym a world champion should be training in.
That suits Taylor fine, since he is no longer world champion. Training this way, in this gym, is reminding Taylor what it takes to return to that level.
Taylor said he knows he can beat Pavlik; that isn’t the question.
The question Taylor is searching for an answer to inside the 58-year-old brick and cement walls of Tocco’s Gym is: Does he still have what it takes, is he able to do what it takes, to be a champion boxer again ?
“Can I still get up for it ?” Taylor said. “That’s what this is about. I got everything fast. I got the Olympics, I was world champ. It happened quick, and I think I forgot what it took to get there.
“ It’s back to the basics, what it took to get here. It took running every day. It took going all out on the bag. It took a bunch of sparring, heavier guys, stronger guys. It took sweat. And it took me losing.
“ But you need to understand, that’s not going to happen again.”
please explain
williams' physical attributes and workrate will be enough to get the W...not sayin it wont be a good fight but he's not beating paul next month
i actually think quintana is a good fighter but he wont be beating williams
williams' physical attributes and workrate will be enough to get the W...not sayin it wont be a good fight but he's not beating paul next month
i actually think quintana is a good fighter but he wont be beating williams
first off i would like to say i was wrong....i was expecting the williams that showed up against margarito...williams was exceptional slow...but like i said quintana is a good fighter and he had an excellent gameplan
well i doubt it cuz the vid was just released today and i dont think pavlik can capitalize on it anyway
im pretty sure pavlik already thinks he has the fight in the bag so he's not searching for vids on taylor
i'm a jermain taylor fan and yes i think he was in the best shape...i dont think making the weight was an issue this time
i still think he deserves a rematch
i agree with the in and out and lateral movement
i also think taylor had what it took to beat him except the stamina
if taylor didnt get tired down the stretch of the fight i think he wouldve won
