In closing, Lou DiBella declared “If Paul Williams wants a rematch, then Paul Williams gets a rematch. He gave us this opportunity and we will give him his rematch.”
Seems like a rematch IS in the making.
Funny how DiBella doesn't feel that way about Malignaggi giving Lovemore N'Dou the rematch that he had guaranteed in his contract (not that I blame him).

This is a tough one. Quintana fought a great fight last night and he landed a ton of left hands. If Paul learned from that then I could see him winning the next time out.
If Williams improves his defense and his jab he wins, if he comes into the fight with no improvements, Quintana wins.
I agree,i think if he throws more and uses the jab more he wins,if he's sloppy like he was last night,he loses,he needed to use the right hook
Hopefully they put that on youtube. It might just be Quint has Paul's number, who knows.
You can read it on Fightnews. Maxboxing usually has video of post fight news conferences, especially if they are in So Cal.
There is usually a rematch clause when the challenger is not a big name opponent or a mandatory. In the post fight press conference PW said he has no plans to move up in weight.

Thanks man. I don't think Paul goes up in weight just yet, he still has aspirations at those big paydays Cotto and Floyd present to him.

I think Quintana wins more easily as a result of his boosted confidence.
It took until late in the fight for Quintana to start acting like a champion. At some point he realized he had it won if he continued hitting those left handes off Williams's eye and cheekbone. This time, if it happens, he comes out knowing he can do it from start to finish.
This is from the ESPN after fight chat last night:
http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Dan Rafael: (1:28 AM ET ) That was DiBella on the phone. He's celebrating the Quintana victory. He was out to dinner with Carlos and his family.
http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Dan Rafael: (1:30 AM ET ) I asked Lou what's next. He said Carlos would take a couple of weeks and then they would discuss it. Lou knows most of the top guys are tied up but figures someone will need a dance partner at some point. He said maybe Berto but not just yet. There is a rematch clause in the contract but it's not immediate. Plus (and this is my opinion) I figure Williams will go up in weight now anyway.

I think Quintana knocks him out in the rematch. He has Paul's number, as evidenced by the fact that he rallied and outboxed him again after Paul started asserting himself in the middle rounds.
My opinion is that Williams was overlooking the second best opponent in his career and came in way overconfident. If he can make 147 without damaging himself, IMO William wins the rematch using the workrate he showed against Margarito.
Link me to that brother. You know I believe you I just want to give it a read.

Supposedly Williams had a rematch clause in his contract. If they fought again in six months, who wins?
