Hard Boiled: Doesnt suprise me.
I always said Maidana was faking an injury.
I agree that it wasn't the most intelligent thing to do. But he didn't fake it because he is afraid of Bradley. His manager was robbing him!
I've watched the fight IMO Lazarte won fairly but he is a dirty fighter, made a few infractions but the referee only warned him once. Tamara tried to use his size advantage to outbox Lazarte but Luis just kept comming and landed the cleaner harder shots.
i'm sick of hearing that ortiz would win easily against maidana just by "outboxing" him. maidana is an excelent pressure fighter and ortiz is no withaker... I just don't see ortiz winning a rematch
Who said he cant be hurt? we all know he can
The fact is his chin surprised every single boxing fan...i was shocked when he took maidanas punches...
And my score card was 116-110..... How did khan struggle?
the only time he "struggled" was the 10th, and he got through it and still won the next round
that's cause your scorecard is sh&t. the fight ended up being much closer
Amir won atleast 7 rounds. Atleast. Top that with the knock down and Maidanas illegal elbow and the scores will be very wide. I had Maidana only winning 3 rounds: 7,10 and 12. I scored the tenth round a 10-8 round for Maidana.
Score total: 116-110
Yes, it was a great fight but Amir could have made it alot easier for himself.
how could you not give maidana rounds 3 and 6 the only close round i gave to maidana was the 11th
what a prick this guy is, he hasn't beat anyone with a pulse and he's calling floyd out. Anyone noticed how he started talking NOW about wanting maidana again, when everybody knows that marcos is fighting alexander.
LMAO he does recover sometime doesnt he? Hes not saying he wants to fight an injured Maidana
But damn your post made me laugh
I've never said that roach wanted kahn to fight maidana while he's injured, but kahn next date is in july and maidana is not going to be healthy by then. besides that el chino has a contract signed to fight bradley.
So they lied about him being injured and he turned down the fight with Bradley twice anyway.
Imagine the outrage if this had been Khan. :lol1:
The outrage would have been worse because Kahn has a long history of ducking not maidana who's a pain in the ass for GBP because he'd beat ortiz and probably would ko kahn if they fight.
Maid needs quit complaining and take the fight with Khan. He can't expect a huge purse to fight Khan. The HBO budget doesn't stretch to that. He is being unreasonable.
Saying no to this fight for a career high payday is just as bad as Khan initially ducking the fight. But nobody seems to criticise Maid for this? I wonder why?
do you know how much money maidana ask for? the only thing you've got is a statement from con side on "The sun", saying that el chino is trying to overprice himself. I don't think maidana is asking for a million pounds it's ridiculous. BTW i've heard Miguel Diaz in a radio interview on monday saying that the fight is gonna happen, so maybe this is all hype.
The best part of the article is where he says that he's gonna train in vegas for 9 weeks. His physical condition will be optimal, not like maidana-corley
Ortiz tried to box in their first fight...After he was drop the first time by Maidana in rd 1 he tried to box..Here's where I get bother by Ortiz and his fans,he tried to box but was bullied out of it cause of Maidana's great pressure..To be honest Ortiz should have fought a guy like Urango or Bailey to really see how he handles pressure...I'm not sold with win's over Harris and Campbell those are gimmie fights with fighters who may have the will but not the skill or legs to win anymore..I think this Peterson fight will speak in volume for Ortiz...
I totally agree
If true, I wouldn't be surprised they turned down a rematch, that fight was fixed, and when they saw that their man was going to be stopped, the ref had to step in.
Matthysse wasn't going to be stopped. the stoppage was bs but lucas was winning the fight. but also i think a rematch is the right thing to do
FukK, i wanna see narvaez facing other champions. he has the talent to unify the division. it's his promoter's fault (Osvaldo Rivero). Omar should do like reveco and leave Rivero and sign with someone who isn't screwing him. Rivero always wants low risk-low reward fights
chill.
Joan Guzman?
Lucas Matthyse?
Lamont Peterson?
Vivian Harris?
Would love to see him in with Katsidis
Even though I'd love to see maidana fight any of these fighters, I don't see this happening. Boxing in argentina doesn't generate enough money to bring an elite fighter like one of these guys.
Proksa is so overrated after his win over Sylvester.
Wait till he fights a game opponent...
You say Proksa is overrated, yet you have pirog in your avatar
Luna Park only seats around 8,000 people or so
been reading up on the venue and it does have a pretty storied history, but still a capacity of only 8,000ish is pretty small
Luna Park seats more than 12.000 for boxing, i don't know last night but when maidana fought corley in 2010 there were 12.000 people. The record for most people at luna park is 23.000 in the 60's for Bonavena-Gorosito.
seda will ko him hes young and has power he is too big for the champ any betters message me
do u want to bet? i have narvaez by wide UD. Whitfield is taller than seda and narvaez knocked out stingray. Seda has power but narvaez seems untouchable
Really horrible defense. Morales was a decent flyweight contender in 2003 when Omar Naravez knocked him out in an WBO title shot. Since then he's beaten nobody and still continues to get title shots, where he's always KO'd. WTF? Cazares deserves an easy fight, but this should be a non-title 10-rounder, not a title defense. These kind of fights (like Huck vs Swamp Donkey) demean the value of title defenses and championships.
I agree with you this is a bullsh*t match up. I was really hoping for Narvaez Vs Cazares in Mexico. There was a rumor here in Argentina about Omar fighting Cazares
