Hatton by a country mile!!! JC clearly assembled his record with a lot of consideration, Hatton fought the best (yes he lost, but he has so far only lost the the two best boxers in the world). I have much more respect for Hatton, I respect JC buthe could have done so much more.
British boxing fans knew about Manny before the Hatton fight, so your wrong there, but yes, many Brits can't believe their Hero was knocked out like that. Whats wrong with that?
People are so anoying!!! Hatton is still a World Title fighter, just will never be ranked with the best of the best!
I said yesterday Hatton should fight Diaz, quality fight!
NFL is not popular in the UK, not one bit. It may as a one off novelty event but not as a sport, the amount of Americans at the last game at Wembley was amazing. And i'd like to echo my disaprovale and dislike for the sport, they are over paid pansies and couldn't last a full game of Rugby league or union!!!! It is a big joke, a pantomime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I admit... I hate people who still think it's cool to stone people to death over BS. Any grown up who believes in that BS fairy tale of a god is a ****in idiot. It's a wrap... the big bang happened bitches. There is no Jesus, Allah or chupacabra. Ridiculous...
What evidence is there that the Big Bang happened??? It is all just theory, no evidence behind it! I admit there is o evidence behind there being a god, except the Bible's, and there are obviously very questionable. But what are the chances of the Big Bang happening at that exact moment, if it happened any later then we would not be here, according the boffs!
The Americans didn't know that, what more proof do you need?.
You can't take that one Rodeo Stadium as a representaion of all of the U.S.!!! You really are simple, deluded and mental. As it goes, my 'ethnic origin' is half British (English if your want the exact country), 1/4 Irish and 1/4 Pakistni. Im pround to be British more than anything, im extremely patriotic, but im very very proud of the rest of my heritige. Im pround to be Pakistani, im pround to be Irish and im Pround to be English, but im British. So am i racist for saying i think Maywether is faster than Khan? Or RJJ was? Now i have to say that Naz is the fastest, but as it goes i don't see anything racist in saying RJJ was faster, if you were the P.M. then half the country would be locked up for inciting racial hatred. Nothing Flawless has said has been slightly racist, where do you come up with these conclusions???
i dunno, Iron Mike has always been a tragedy story. But the man is an animal, i have no respect for him outside the ring, and since the ear incident ive had none for him inside. so as far as im concerned, why does he deserve my sympathy???
For christs sake, the robbing bastards have put China Khan and Macca coupled together for £15 PPV. I think I get DLH fight as well (early hours), but I ain't paying for that s**t to line DLH's pocket.
I was hoping the Macca fight would be on ITV Big Fight, why would I want to pay to see Khan get Khan'd again and neither of them are PPV worthy or PPV fights.
I agree, im not paying for it wen i paid to see the Hatton fight a couple of weeks agao, im watchin it on the net, robbing bastards!!!
James Toney was a fat, weight-drained slob at the time of said incident.
To me it sounds like your the Racist one, dont you like Blacks??? At least the rest of the people on here give credit to Naz where it is due. And all other boxers, but Khan gets no credit cus he hasn't earned it, he came across the first good fighter of his career and he was out of it in 54 secs! You wont give credit to RJJ for being an ATG.
Wow. At least that last sentence is correct.
Im guessing you dont agree? But his record is filled with Hasbeens, Ricky's isn't. If he comes back and fights the likes of Dawson, Pavilik and Haye then he will have saved his rep somewhat, but until then he will be seen a a very good fighter, not the legend he wants to be seen as!
and who the hell respects maussa? the wild monkey men of the congo?
Does it make a difference who repects him, that fact is he was a good boxer and was systematiclly taken apart by Ricky.
Leaving aside the Calzaghe question (which I strongly and fundamentally disagree with you on), have you actually looked at Hatton's record? He didn't fight a live world class opponent until he was 38-0!
I love Ricky but come on. He was a late challenger for a proper world title (Warren's fault of course, but still the truth of the matter). His opponents over the last three years compares favourably to anyone else out there but before that? Nope, don't buy it.
Yeh i agree that before the Tzyu fight he didn't fight the best around, or ven the challengers. But after that he has sought to fight the best out there, and has. Joe has never done that. Now as ive said many many times Joe and Ricky are my two favourite boxers, and i love Joe and i will miss him when he has gone, but he has only ever looked to fight the big names while they are on the slide. If he come back and fights Dawson or Pavilik then i will alter my view, if he comes back and has a rematch with Hopkins then I will look at him in an even dimmer light! Ricky has fought more world class fighter while they are still very much at their peak, or there abouts.
I think Hattons, while it lacks the depth of Joe's, is alot more respectable. Im not taking anything away from Joe, but anyone denying he ducked the best in their prime is blindly zelous to Joe, or simply blind... Anyway, he has a good paper record, but in reality he fought a way past it JJR, a past peak but still very good Hopkins, a past it Eubank, a past it Woodhall, and a very off form Ried. I love Calzaghe but his record doesn't stand up to scrutiny, i grant he fought Kessler wh we all accept is a very good fighter.
Hatton's however stands up very nicely! He has sought to fight and beat the best, and to become the best. Sadly he hasn't achieved this as of yet, but who says he can't? Anyway, he has fought the legend that is Tzyu, p4p king PBF (i know it is a loss but at least it ilistrates the fact he sought to fight the best and didn't duck anyone!), a young up and comer with a very good reputation in the Magic man, Maussa a well respected pro, some tough South American fighters with very good reps such as; collazo, urango?, castillo, and maybe Lazcano. He still wants to fight the best and would happily fight PBF again!
Im goin with Hatton's as the most impressive!
I'll say Pacquiao. The Philippines has more people than England...he's also a bigger star there than Hatton in England.
I wouldn't be surprised if people worship to a statue of Pacquiao there.
Im going to correct you, don't you mean Britain, or the United Kingdom rather than England? We are an actual Country you know!
lamo brit fag.
Why son't you shut the f**k up?????????? You clearly have no come back so all you can say is "brit ***", well your a f***ing p-rick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By 38-0, Calzaghe had fought Mitchell, Brewer, Sheika, Woodhall, Reid, Veit and Eubank.
By any stretch of the imagination, their comparable records at 38-0 simply are light years apart. And you can't seriously sit there and argue that Hatton couldn't have got a fight at a genuine world champion or world level fighter at that point?
Now, if you want to argue that, over the last 3 years, Hatton's competition is stronger than Calzaghe's then make that case. But to argue over their whole careers then that to me is a complete nonsense.
The irony for those of us who have followed Hatton's career from the beginning is that he's been on the slide physically since that Tsyzu fight. He could have achieved so much more if he'd ditched Warren and that coveted WBU belt. I was crying out for him to fight for a proper world title for years before he actually did.
Now i agree with you there. But i dont agree that Calzaghe fought truley world class oponents at 38-0. They may have been worl class 2-3 years before he fought them, but not when he did. You can't just quote big names and expect people to see them as world class when you fought them, you need to look at the context of the fight and where his opponents were when he fought them. Just because they were good once, doesnt mean they are good forever, fighting a name is one thing, fighting a prime name is completely different!
No he isn't a proven fighter, but he is still a good, young up 'n' comer! And i feel that Clazaghe needs to fight Chad, Pavilik and maybe david haye to be seen as a the legend he wants to be!
i think we can all agree though that if rick wins his next fight he will surpass joe right?
and also i'd rather go 38 fights fighting nobodies and then step it up and fight the best for 10 fights.. than fight mediocre fighters most of my carrer and then fight descent/old ones...
joe calzaghe has way more question marks behind his resume than ricky will have after ricky's next fight
Yeh, i completely agree. Joe has too many holes in his record.
Worldwide it's probably Pacquiao, he's known and followed from one side of the world to the other.
Again so is Hatton? I know Pac props has a bigger following world wide, but I think Hatton pushes it close?
I think people have respect for Hatton, fame hasn't gone to his head (neither has the money) he still lives in manchester and drinks down the local boozer, he gives 100 % in every fight and admits when he hasn't fought well and was very determined to put it right when he lost, and he tries to fight the best out there. He has never shied away from anyone, and he would be willing to go at it with Maywether again.
However, people acknowledge that Calzaghe has talent (and bags of it at that) but he will never get their complete respect unless he fights some people in their prime, now im a huge Calzaghe fan but i agree, he has never fought anyone while truley being world class, bar maybe Hopkins, but he is a freak of a human being, he will go on forever!
lol and when he does you'll be saying well he started out at 109...
Which he did...
and if he doesn't want to lost AGAIN don't fight mayweather...
I mean.. do you honestly not see it?
I really think he would beat Maywether, he is strong, a work horse, and is very good technical boxer. Floyd would loose, just like if he fought any of Margarito, Cotto, JMM, Varquez, etc. Just my opinion, doesnt mean im right!
Even tho Lennox never boxed BEFORE he came to the land of REAL men...namely CANADA. And did all of his training in CANADA. and was sponsered, trained, financed and sponsered for not one, but TWO olympics as a representative of CANADA. He is a f@g,limpwrist,assbandit,turburgler,gutless,lisping,kn0bgobbler......and.. therefore...obviously.......English.case closed.
So this is how you see the British, stop calling it England, are you forgeting that we are Great Britain/The United Kingdom??? There is a reason for that you know. Anyway, if this is how you view the British then you are very wrong my friend. You say Canada is the home of the brave:wtf:..........don't make me laugh!!!!! Britain is the officail home of the Brave, the only country that can rival it, even slightly, is the US, and that is essentially because of the WASP's and that they were born from British stock.
By the way, are you Canadian or American??? You seem bitter?
Even Britain called Lewis a Canadian when he turned pro. He was trashed all over the media and he was made fun of for having a 'Canadian' accent. and he was even booed and heckled going to the ring against Bruno. Only after he ko'd bruno did the UK fans jump on his bandwagon and called him one of their own.
And by this same logic, it would mean that Margarito is American since he was born in California. But everyone knows that he is a mexican cuz thats where he grew up and learned how to box.
Who is Britain then??? I hope your not pressuming that the whole of Great Britain called him Canadian, cus i didn't, and i know alot of other people that didn't. I have always said he is British, doesn't matter where you emmigrate to in the world, if you were born here and spent a reasonble chunck of your life here then you are British. He would have been heavily influensed by his experiences in Britain, and remember his Parents were British and spent most of their life here, so will undoubtedly have many British values which were passed on to Lennox.
