Yeah definitely, I'd say that comes about because he probably gets asked this type of stuff very often and he just finds it insulting and utterly absurd, but considering it was a huge sporting event worth millions upon millions, damn right he should feel offended. That's disgusting.
Who here does their job for free? No one. Even worse, who gets consistently asked to do something for free they have generally trained their whole lives for, likely gone to university for, practiced and spent more time practicing on skills than just about any accountant, lawyer, doctor etc?
Let's put it another way; what top well known professional boxer fights for free? Should they fight for free if they were offered a free ticket to some event when they would normally be payed very well for what they do? He's a well known artist, among the top looking at his resume.
Who here would feel insulted and offended if you had spent a lifetime on becoming an incredibly skilled practitioner of something and were often asked to do it for free, despite it being your career, job and livelihood?
This is a huge, and long standing pet peeve of everyone in the arts/music industry because it's rife across the board. Because there are so many amateur artists/musicians that have a day job and are willing to do these things for free, it undercuts the whole industry and the actual professionals, so people suddenly think it's ok to ask, sometimes even expect, the professionals to do things for free, or for 'exposure', a ticket etc. No one here works for free, especially if they have done so in the past spending many frustrating, hard years building themselves up to a point where they don't have to work for free.
Maybe he tweeted it because he is sick and tired of large media companies trying to get him to work for free, and that the embarrassment of the negative flack might smarten them up and actually treat his peers and profession with more respect the next time around.
Exactly. Thank you.
This would be equally as disrespectful if Pacquiao or whoever else did this.
This guy probably makes a decent living off of his work already, so hats off to him for having the self respect to defend his peers and craft.
I see we still have ignorant kids posting here defending showtime. Thanks to this thread, it's easy to see who the underaged immature children are.
Tell me about it. Here's one.
The USA ask NBA players to play for their country and guess how much they get paid for playing on the USA team?
A plane ticket, food and a contest where they have the chance to win a gold medal, and you're talking about multi millionaire, not aspiring artist.
Who gives a shyt how much this fight is gonna make, it's a contest, the first sentence in that dumbass letter says so, if you don't want in, just say no, pass it along to someone who coukd use the help.
When this dudes starts making Kobe and Lebron money and has the possibility of ruining his career for a gold medal, holla at me.
more of lack of discipline or not fighting in the right division...
he fought at LW then weighing 155-160 at fightnight, he should fight minimum at 140 or now he is older at 147...
Yep. Sometimes what separates the great fighters from the good ones is just that. Discipline and drive.
But people shouldn't feel bad for having high hopes for Guzman. He had really good skills.
You know what though, I feel like Manny did kinda force the ref's hand (and Margarito's corner). But those dudes must f*ckin hate Tony or something cuz they kept sending him out for more. That fight could've been stopped from round eight going.
Cole looked like he wanted Tony to get seriously hurt. Every time Pac looked at the ref to stop the fight, Cole just stared back, pretty much telling Manny to keep doing what he was doing. After a few more glances from Pac, I was expecting Cole to break out his mortal kombat voice and just yell, "Finish Him!"
i dont know about early...unless PAC comes in with ZERO respect, which i think will be the opposite, the feel-out stage should afford Shane at least 3-4 rounds...but the 4th or 5th, the handspeed advantage will become defined and that's when we'll probably see PAC go for the kill
or not
i didnt like what i saw in the Margarito fight...towards the end...too much compassion
I agree that he was too nice even before the final rounds. I think margarito's broken orbital and that wound flapping in the air every time pac hit it really made him not want to punch him anymore.
IF pac did decide to not really punch that hard upstairs, would've been been nice to see him work on margarito's body.
....and 4months later, Shane will be starring in San Mig Beer commercials back home
In that case, they should make another one of the Datu Puti commercials. Would be funny to see Pac and Shane walking to buy suka while Shane's wearing shorts and tsinelas.
Would it kill them to throw in Roach and Nazim?
The commentary is also copy and paste from the last game for the most part.
They should have gotten HBO crew.
I hope they have some way of turning the commentary off. I remember having to turn my volume down, because I couldn't stand the fight commentary and the things atlas said anymore.
Some rounds they'd make it sound like you were doing well and winning the rounds, so of course you'd think to keep doing what you were doing. Then when the cards came out, it would show that you didn't even win the rounds they were praising you in.
And yeah how hard is it to get roach or any other famous trainer in there. It's not like they're saving some money to get us a better list of fighters to fight with.
I'm pulling for donaire, but a part of me wants it to be close and go the full 12 rounds. Wouldn't mind the possibility of a trilogy between these two.
I'm new to most of this.
I have a question.
Is the demo a final, or close to final version? Or do they still tweak it? This is really the first demo that i've played.
I think it's still opened to be tweaked if enough people complain in the EA Fight Night forums.
I agree with other people complaining about the camera angle. It's annoying when you start fight off on the left side and somehow get switched to the left side of the screen. But the final game should have different camera angles so that shouldn't be a problem.
My main gripe so far is the movement. The side step doesn't happen fast enough and doesn't cover enough ground. It's already pretty good, but someone like Ali should look like he's gliding around the ring.
I'll get on this in about 1 hour when I'm home from work. Still playing FNR4 too so hopefully this one meets desired standards.
It does feel like a slightly retooled and re-skinned FNR4 but in a good way.
even the character models and commentary are pretty much the same with little things added and changed.
It'd be nice of them to not charge so much for it since they haven't added that much. But I'm afraid that fight night is going to turn more and more into madden or fifa. a lot of money for little changes.
Don't really like it so far. It's just a slugfest. The new blocking system takes a lot less skill and it seems a helluva lot easier for the noobs to throw quality combinations.
Saying that, I wasn't really a fan of FNR4 when I first played that either.
I think people are just slugging it out because it's only 3 rounds. For our sake, hopefully those same people play the same way when the final game comes out and tire themselves out before the 5th round.
I liked the old blocking system as well.
That was a nice change of pace from the usual tone of the 24/7 series.
I hope they can capture more of that same feeling for pac/mosley.
They should do a fight science type of thing for the fighters.
Maybe show a test of how hard mosley can punch and how fast pac can cover space in the ring while still throwing punches.
wlad must have pedophile tendancies cause that biitch looks like she just hit puberty

here's what a real woman looks like:

Tell me about it. They must have some kind of real connection between each other because Wlad shouldn't have a problem getting with some Ukrainian, Russian, or German model.
Floyd don't drink...
Drunk, sleepy, or high off love. Something.
Mayweather waking up right now and yelling to himself after seeing that picture,
"I DID THAT?!"
One because, one of the main stars on the sport doesn't really wanted for whatever reason. Two promoters doesn't seem to wanted for whatever reason, three commissions don't seem to wanted for whatever reason.
However, a fight between the 2 biggest stars on the sport could change a lot of perception. It did it with Tyson-Holyfield. Where there no steroid test before that. None at all believe it or not. Tyson asked Holyfield to take it. Holy did and that was the precedent to the drug testing we have now...It was caused by 2 major stars in the sport at that time.
You kind of see where I'm going with this?
Right now taking PED's is illegal, and I think maybe it should be legalized and we don't have to worry about this. And, everybody will be on a level playing field. There are other performance enhancers that are legal and can buy at GNC.
But, as long as it is illegal bro. We should have the best testing available don't you think? And, WADA even though is not perfect and I still think there are Olympians who have year around testing that is still cheating and beating the system. Because, lets face the cheaters will always be ahead of the testers. But, still WADA is the best thing we have going right now for anti doping testing. And, the one thing I like about WADA is that they will store your blood. So if there is a drug out there that is not detectable right now. It could be detectable years from now.
For example I will use Floyd and Mosley since they went to that process. Everything came out clean to what WADA test for. But, maybe in 8 years or whatever we find out about a new drug. And, WADA would test Mosley and Floyd blood for it and then we might find out that oh Mosley was on this or oh Floyd was on this. That is the cool thing about WADA.
And, what could be the biggest fight of all time, between the 2 biggest boxing stars right now could be the precedent for WADA to get into boxing. That is only a good thing bro. But, unlike Tyson-Holyfield which set the precedent for their time. it seems like no precedent will be set for this era. And, that is because one fighter wants a cutoff for whatever reason...It kind of sucks really if you think about it.
Any ideas on why (or it seems like) anyone from both camps haven't tried bringing hair analysis into the discussion?
It would certainly take away any of manny's previous qualms. Unless someone here can already bring up a video of him in an interview after the Singsurat loss claiming it was his haircut that led to the defeat.
No, you don't.
Nor do you want to actually go search and read the information yourself.
What about taking random samples of hair throughout the training camp?
he wasn't asking him to pray. :lol1:
he was asking him to get down cause buboy (i think) was carrying him and hatton was on the middle of the ring gasping for air.
they want to minimize movement on the ring cause ricky might be dying.
not the first time some stage hand asks a fighter to go down.
Just like when they were telling Donaire to chill after he KO'd Darchinyan.

Enjoy...
Bad. Ass.
Bradley/Alexander will put GP's editing skills to the test.
I like it, but I think the movement could still be better. The little lag that happens after you flick the stick/press button and before the character moves is still there. That's gonna be a problem when playing online where there's already lag most of the time.
I don't like that it's easier to block. We lose having our opponents guess which part of their body to protect and being surprised by the power shot that hits opposite the area that they're blocking.
Why are people even bringing up the whole "boxers make more money than MMA fighters" talk? MMA fans are getting the fights they want (for the most part) because their fighters aren't a bunch of greedy divas. A championship fight with Jones/Rua was practically announced on the spot, no questions asked. If a boxing fight of that caliber were to take place, us boxing fans would endure months of promoters bickering back and forth, fighters crying over money, ring entrance, weight, where the fight would take place, ect. And then there's still a chance we couldn't even get the fight.
Amen to that.
silva probably made $250,000 tonight
If he was a legit boxer, he'd be making $15,000,000
he wasnt skilled enough to be a boxer so he had to go to pro wrestling 2.0
how many boxers are making that kind of money?
Berto
Khan
Maidana
Ortiz
JMM
Bradley
Alexander
Pavlik
Martinez
P.Will
Mayweather
Pacquiao
Klitskcho Bro
Roy Jones
B-Hop
Chad Dawson
Clottey
Andre Ward
Bute
Froch
Calzaghe
Lamont Peterson
Margarito
Cotto
Mayorga
Zab Judah
Hatton
Mosley
Glen Johnson
Allan Green
the list goes on
**** even James Kirkland made that much against Vera
I was talking about him saying if Silva was a legit boxer, he'd be making $15mil/fight. Instead of just $250k for tonight.
So all those boxers make $15mil/fight?
O i thought fot just $250K
Klitschko's
Mayweather
Pacquiao
Mosley
Haye
are pretty much the only ones
and Silva is the equivalent to these boxers in his sport. So his statement is right.
And if martinez could properly hit a golf ball he'd make as much as mickelson.
