Yea man gonna be so awesome. 39 year old Mosley who is a natural welterweight couldnt do a thing. I think JMM is gonna make it a helluva fight because he is a year younger than Mosley at 38. That 1 year will be the key. He also punches much harder/is faster than Mosley too. He will expose the #1 P4P in his prime filipino storm who is 10x stronger than he looks.
Man he did the same shit from last night, not give the fans their moneys worth. Pacquiao would have never done what Floyd did he is a true professional and does not take advantage of loop holes to get a win, make the night easier for him, and leave early with the fans money. Pacquiao would have done the correct thing after shaking hands, take a step back, put his guard up, and continue the fight ultimately giving the fans their moneys worth no matter how it appropriately ended from there.
I agree. Saul Alvarez is the more skilled boxer and has many more rounds in his resume. It would be a good fight but I think Alvarez comes out on top no questions asked. I think people are too quick to judge a boxer who is 21 years old. These are the same people who didnt even know he existed few years ago until his name appeared on the Mayweather-Marquez undercard. but all of a sudden they demand so much of him lol. I remember I made a thread on him in 2008/2009 I think, and I got 1 or 2 replys lol.
If Cottos little brother was able to rock him..imagine what Angulo would do to the kidSo he made a mistake at age 19, sue the kid. Hes had 6 fights since then Im sure he learned a thing or two.
JMM-Pac I -----Pacquiao will annihilate JMM

Boxing is not as popular as before , maybe in the USA it is , but not worldwide .
The only known boxers worldwide are Tyson and Ali , you ask anybody and they know who they are .I agree with the second part, but boxing is actually more popular outside of the USA. The media coverage it gets in other countries is way above the USA's coverage.
Pacman is right on tysons level about to surpass him .. if you don't admit that then your both blind and retarded. Pacman is probably one of the most famous faces in this planted history ..... go look at most peoples facebook and you'll are pacman as favorite athlete.
Pacman is the sole reason for boxings resurgence.
When you have people from every corner on earth famous actors, politicians, presidents world leaders. Top famous athletes all begging to meet you. Thats right Manny has reached icon status the face of boxing god and a damn good one . ......
Mayweather. On the other hand is mostly known in just the other us. By african americans. Very limited fanbase. .....I havent used this term in a while, but here is another perfect example of a "pacxing" fan
Seriously, these guys wouldn't be where they are(Popularity wise) if it wasn't for Oscar. Oscar has/had everything both these guys have in terms of loyal fans, haters, women fans, media hype and marketability. Oscar was a star since Barcelona and it led all the way through his retirement.
Tyson is on another level. May and Manny aren't even close to him, in my opinionExactly! As much as Dan Rafael has a feud with Oscar, he said it best "@OscarDeLaHoya The biggest of his time and if he didnt give Mayweather and Pacquiao fights they would never have become as big."
I stand by my case that they were on Miguel Cottos level before Oscar, after Oscar they became mega stars. Even if you want to say that Pacquiao is a big name world wide guess after what fight that started happening?
And Tyson is above all them by miles and they will never surpass him. New fanboys to the sport dont understand the extent of his stardom.
What were they. I dont remember them. Honestly, he sold a bunch of PPVs but I dont think he was a legitimate household name compared to the level of tyson and Ali.You better believe a name like Oscar had endorsements dont make me go researching to believe it. I know he wasnt on Ali and Tysons level. But its him and Tyson that are more known names from the 90's and on. You dont make 12 appearances on Leno if you are not a household name. Look what he did for Mayweather and Pacquiao, who where they before Oscar gave them a shot? They were the Miguel Cottos of boxing.
I personally feel they passed DLH....but Tyson is on another level.
The minute either can do 1.75 buys against a bum, then we can talk. Until then Iron Mike is the G.O.A.T when it comes to PPVYea they do big PPV's numbers but if we went around asking people what boxers they know I think De La Hoya comes in front of Mayweather and Pacquiao. It does not necessarily mean that those people will order boxing PPV's just regular people in general. Like my coworker, she probably has never watched a full 12 round boxing match and will probably never order a boxing match but she still knew Mike and Oscar.
both on de la hoya.
Manny has surpassed odlh commerciallyI look at his Nike deal as a huge deal. Oscar had his good share of endorsements back in his day.
I think it has to do more with him being an air head.
*Nevermind just watched the interview, I can def see HBO writing up a script for the interview. I mean the core of his stories on his background are true but I think HBO told him what to say in the interview.
The title says it all. The fact that people even have to pit all forms of combat in the world against boxing says it all. Boxing can have its ups and downs in the U.S. but it will always be royalty.
Nevada will count a ticket sold if a promoter pays the tariff on the ticket (tax)
so (I know you know what this means but I gotta explain it)
what that means is that if say GBP reports to NSAC that 15k tickets sold in essence GB could have paid the tariff on those 15k tickets and counted them as sold and then.........everyone.....count that as gate revenue
Ya reckon theyre also going to do that for the over 1 million ppv buys this bout wilo do?
true but its offset by the fact that boxing isnt as big as before and these guys are much smaller than HW's espicallyAt any point in time, boxing's mega stars are going to sell no matter what. The way they can get a fight out there today compared to yesteryears is so much more efficient and effective. Especially now that there are more paying satellite TV customers.
He was definitely mainstream, I wouldnt really say cash cow. But very well known either way.To be a cash cow you have to have more than just skills(roy had plenty). Also, I think he was in the wrong weight divisions to be a cash cow.
I forgot who said this...but if it was all because of his looks, then there would be thousands of Canelos making money in Mexico. Saul is a top professional boxer that will only get better from here, no one can deny that.
