real talk, honestly believe if it wasnt for his mouth..nobody would watch him
his style, to majority of people is boring
in addition, i reckon if ward was a wild trash talker, people would tune in although his style sucks as well
n rigo could speak english, same thing
i guess the main thing is talking and backing it up
He markets himself very well. 24/7 and the Oscar fight boosted his popularity. His destruction of Gatti made it possible though. People wanted to see if he could do the same thing in the De la Hoya fight. Even though it wasn't the most dominant performance I think it still left on good impression on people. After that, there was no stopping him. Alot of people watch to see him lose but a good portion of people are true fans that expect him to win.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Thats why your rep is -9323. Dont be mad. It would be no fun without little pieces of shlt like you. So maybe you can stay for a little while. Just a little while. :ANWOD:
right because rep rating on NSB is the true measure of everything, you probably even believe that. A nagging question- do you really believe the ignorant bu11$hyt you post here. My gut feeling is no, you can't really be that stupid

:WORD: Nobody cares what you think! just STFU and prepare for your prema ban
with all of the ignorance you've spewed here, do you truly think anyone cares what you think? No, you are viewed as the clown you obviously are. Nice try though
Wrong. The DLH one is correct. The second is...Ducking Manny Pacquiao. Using every excuse in the book to do so. Slandering his name and so on!
Pac-Bytch, I'll try to tell you once again. Floyd told Pac/Arum- take the test, Pac gets 40 million and Floyd gets the rest. Floyd never waivered on this and Pac/Arum never accepted these terms. Instead Pac got KTFO for less than 1/4 of that, which seriously diminished the value of the fight.
You can blame Floyd for not moving from his offer, but I blame Pac/Arum for not accepting a payday they will never achieve without Floyd.
Feel free to go crying to the mods (again) in an effort to get me banned
Two of the main reasons;
The build up of the Oscar fight made him, being the super Villian and disrespecting such a loved, well known, star.
That, and the fact that he's undefeated, the best fighter in the world and very highly skilled, and has that "unbeatable" aura.
Combine the two and you get a brash, c*cky, unbeatable c*nt that brags about how rich he is, that everyone wants to see get humbled but keeps winning.
I.e, $$$.
As much as i hate his attitude, he has won me over with his recent performances. I dont want to say it, but i believe he is an ATG.
Id like him 100% more if he never spoke again. He always makes me cringe. I struggle to watch those 24/7 shows.
I am SICK of these fuqn threads comparing Floyd's style to rigondeaux's!
The only similarities between them is good defence and counter punching ability. One can box and fight, one can't stop running without getting dropped and wobbled.
Floyd can run all he wants in his fights. He's the one being challenged. In Rigo's case, he's the one being chased as if he's the one holding the belt. Can't imagine Floyd running if he were the challenger.
But it still gave them a certain degree of fame. The problem with Mosley is that he lost twice to Forrest and didn't continue a good run after he beat ODLH.
B-Hop moved very high and got recognized after the Trinidad win and was the MW to beat. The ODLH win also gave him more recognition to a certain degree
i don't think any of mosley's fights between the first meeting with oscar were ppv. i could be wrong. I'm pretty sure that the first forrest fight was on regular hbo.
post oscar, i don't think that fight elevated hops star power much if at all quite honestly.
Nope. Floyd has faced a large Majority of Mexicans since the Oscar fight.
The only two Non Mexicans he faced? Cotto and Mosley. Cotto and Mosley = Big Non-Mexican Names in the Boxing World.
Like I said: He needs a Big name or a Mexican to sell.

so thats the way to sell ? have two popular fighters fighting each other, damn thanks dude I've never understood that before it's so much clear right now
He has a larger than life personality, "Money". Also he has a perfect record and the lure of finding someone that can beat him is attractive to viewers. "I want to see if (insert fighter here) is the one to beat that ***** Mayweather."
the oscar kiss of life doesn't work with everyone though (mosley and hop). if you're exciting (pac, tito) or brilliant(floyd) and charismatic it works.

You fight and beat ODLH you become famous (Mosley, B-Hop, Pac)
Floyd was on dancing with the stars and a lot of ppl watch that highly rated show and got him exposure outside of boxing
Floyd was on the WWC (or WWF) and exposed him even more to a different audience(thats how my teenager knows him)
He did some commercials that were televised nation wide
His antics and persona
His undefeated record
His own marketing
He has been around for a while already and was early on HBO

Floyd isn't popular, but the people he's paying know how to sell him as a brash undefeated fighter, and that was proven when they hijacked the 'Cinco De Mayo' spot.
That angle against a decent well known Mexican on that date for the last few years = Money.
Before that Floyd needed a big Star to go against for big numbers.
It takes two, or in Floyd's case: It takes a Mexican on Cinco De Mayo.
Learn to read Dumb Dumbs.
Mosley and Cotto were sandwiched in between bouts against Mexicans.
Oscar made him, then to exploit that he fought Hatton, and followed up with a Mexican.
Cotto and Mosley are the only two Non-Mexicans after Hatton.
Mosley has never been a big star so you're still wrong. It's difficult to have quality discussion with fools such as yourself. Floyd is the most popular fighter in the sport. You're just going to have to deal with it.
when you match him up with a cash cow (oscar de lahoya) on his last legs, and see him in the role of the villain, it was inevitable for him to become must see tv for some particularly when he's also the best boxer on the planet.
So you're basically reaching.
